Re: Are the "experts" too focused on top notes ?

    Very true.

Judging perfumes I am the exact opposite, though. I don't care at all for the top notes. They're gone when I leave the house. Why should I care about them? I never understood why people...

    Re: Parfumerie General Coze

I find it very hard to distinguish single notes in Cozé. It has that thing that makes it IMO a masterpiece: it creates something new. More a monolith than a collection of notes.
    IMO one of the best...

I agree. One of the best I've ever read on BN. Thank you DustB for opening it - and mr. reasonable, Bokchoy, cello, Emlynevermore, and others for your really insightful thoughts.

  12. Re: Fabrics for button down shirts (whats stylish/unstylish)

Stodgy - yes, maybe that hits the nail. But maybe we just have a different understanding of "stylish". (Or maybe it's just a trans-atlantic thing.) Cos I agree with this:

    Button downs...
  13. Re: Fabrics for button down shirts (whats stylish/unstylish)

Well, button down and stylish don't go in the same sentence anyway.

    But cotton is king.

Re: Leau Dissey vs. Allure Homme Sport

Most people here will probably vote for Allure Homme Sport. My vote clearly goes to L'eau d'Issey, though. In Allure Homme Sport I always get a very dominant note of excrements. (But I seem to be...

    Re: Rance 1795 Triomphe

Rather a sign for grey market, not for fakes. At least the Allure bottle is real, I'd say. Don't know about the content, of course.
