Here's the thread...
A post a couple of hours ago on The Fragrance Guru Nation on Facebook. Said it was due for a November release.
Any info on this, anywhere?
I saw this in Sephora yesterday. Is it simply different packaging or is it a different juice?
With Resin Sacra, how long does the suede accord last. Does in carry throughout the fragrance?
Where to start in the Krigler line? Is there a consensus of their top 3?
Montale Aoud Pine.
Was the mint version just another similar summer flanker with little variation? Or was the mint unique at all?
Does anyone have any opinion, reviews on The Original Fragrance by Cellmen Switzerland?
Any feedback, reviews on Aoud Samarkand?
Does anyone know what the packaging of the 1998-1999 first run Gucci Envy for men looked like?
Bottom one is from the 1980's.
Oh, and lest I forget the impossible to find Halston 101.
Aoud & Pine by Montale. Just blind bought this and I couldn't be happier. A very refined (surprisingly for Montale) pine scent with an apple and pepper opening. Really happy I snagged a bottle of...
There is absolutely nothing about Chanel Egoiste that could be described as smelling really bad.
Yes. Yes. Yes.
Forget about the vetiver in the name, Coeur de Vétiver Sacré is all about dried fruits (apricot) and black tea. Take one part from another L'artisan Parfumeur creation, Tea for Two and one part...
I have and love Dark Aoud, Moon Aoud and Dark Musk. This one seems to be getting some great reviews. We'll see ;')
Thank Hednic. I think I'm going to take a chance on it.
Safe blind buy?
I know. I know....
I just received my bottle of Givenchy Vetyver Les Parfums Mythique and it was left (in box with peanut packaging) in a snow bank for about 6 hours. The temperature in Boston today is about 26 F. Will...
Yep. It's there. It fades though, leaving a nice woods and incense.
Any suggestions for a unisex fragrance that reflects insanity, chaos and an overall crazy-hectic life?
Thanks Ipp. Despite the Name - it's a fairly well behaved, subdued scent. Any others?
Any suggestions for a perfume that reflects insanity, chaos and a crazy life?
Must be reformulated.
Would have to be VC&A pour homme.
Thanks guys for all the suggestions.
I have PdN New York. I find Chanel Pour Monsieur, Guerlain Heritage and Tiffany for men (especially) to be in the same ilk. Any juices that I am missing that have the same feel as PdN New York?
Let's not we forget Aramis Special Reserve which is a different juice than Aramis Classic Edition.
What he said ^^^.
I posted in the "fragrance wanted" forum. What and where is the BN marketplace?
I have researched this and it seems that there is an Aramis Classic Edition - which is a regular Aramis bottle simply wrapped in leather. Classic Reserve is an entirely different fragrance. That...
Here is what I am referencing...
Did Aramis Reserve come in both leather and non-leather wrapped?
I took a look at that eBay auction. I remember the bottle being leather wrapped? Was the leather wrapped bottle the same Classic Reserve?
Thanks, checked eBay with no luck. This was everywhere just a couple of years ago and now I cannot find it anywhere! online.
Any leads as to where I can purchase this?
Wanted. PM me, please.
I feel Kiehl's Musk oil is verrrrry similar.
The absolute best oily, hot chili pepper note is found in Patou Pour Homme. The tricky thing is finding a bottle that the top notes have not burned off from. It took me four bottles to finally find...
I find this one tied with the 2009 Summer edition. 2013 has more grapefruit/melon/kiwi. Quite nice. The 2000 (Cobalt blue bottle) with peppermint and gingko biloba is the best of them all.
Very different. Armani Eau Pour Homme is in the vein of a traditional Italian Herbal Colonia. Gendarme is a soapy, clean scent.
My vote is for Divine L'homme Sage.
This is in poor taste. It's barbaric, even in jest.
Thanks so much Andre for this great tribute to PACO RABANNE POUR HOMME, First Version (1973-1981) I have been on a vintage Paco kick of late and this thread really hit the spot.
How does The Metal Prestige Edition compare with the most recent Paco Rabanne formulation?
The only thing that my nose can pick out is that it is more powdery.
Givenchy Play Intense. Spot on. But I'd rather spend a few more bucks for Bond's I <3 NY For All.
Gianni Campagna Vento Canali
Try Foret de Becharre or L'Hetre Reve by Nez a Nez. Very tastefully done.
There is absolutely no lime or semblance of lime in Colonia Intensa Oud.
IF you like Villoresi's take on Vetiver - give Mona di Orio a try.
Does anyone remember a thread a while back where a classic swiss cologne was mentioned. It was a cologne that had been around for decades and is still popular today. I think it was Mike Perez who...
Gendarme does smell synthetic next to Tom Ford Neroli Portofino as well as Castile - but NOT like bug spray.
It's plausible that you may have purchased one or both of the 2008 and 2009 Limited Edtion Formulations. The bottles are identical, the leather wrap is a darker brown for 2008 and a darker brown...
sport de paco rabanne/eau de sport - same juice.
Krigler ESTABLISHED COGNAC 66
Cartier Santos Concentree.
I haven't even been able to find the original yet. Anywhere! Any idea who sells it?
Best off that you start with a dab of plain vanilla extract on your wrist. Smell it, sniff it, figure out all the notes - when you feel comfortable move on to more and more complex fragrances....
Call 1-800-AVENTUS. They'll ask for the batch number, place and date of purchase. Creed will be able to authenticate your purchase. I've checked my Bois du Portugal, Imperial and Original Vetiver -...
Many say it is nicely balanced.
Noise, stay away from this kind of posts.[/QUOTE]
How is my opinion, 'noise' to you Brian?
no - bvlgari ph is sooooo synthetic. stay away.
Sounds like quite the connoisseur. :)
I've enquired about this previously with not much success.
Forgetting about price, concentration, sillage, projection and development..do they smell the same???
Anyone with experience with both...
I don't know why, but I somehow felt that this was packaging for Europe or the Orient?
Really don't scents any similarities.
Still very good.
Perfect technique for this juice in that climate! It's good to know that there are Basenoters out there that know how to apply juices such as this. And yes, this is the 1980's. Leonard Pour Homme is...
Frederic Malle Cologne Bigarade Concentree.
But this packaging has been around for quite some time.
Agreed. But why the different packaging?
What is the story with this packaging as it is different from the bottles I bought from Luckyscent?
Do they both have a similar feel?
Agreed. Also, L'artisan Tea for Two (I know, I know, it's not designer but it's one of the best.)
Other than both being Fougère, I don't see the similarity. HDP 1725 is a spicy almond/lavender. I don't get any licorice or star anise. Sillage and longevity is average.
Not only is there no obligation on the manufactures behalf, but their marketing 'machines' go out of there way to deny changes even when they are aware of them.
If your an Egoiste Junkie like me, you'll enjoy this immensely...
It's not a controversial house.
What a tragedy. This one was the gem of all Vetivers, IMHO.
Wow, what a find, Silentrich.
Yes, both are indeed vintage. Nice work, Lisbon!
