Could we have this in the database please!
1. How old are you?
2. Male or female?
3. Are you an introvert (enjoy time alone) or an extrovert (outgoing and social)?
4. Do you like to be unique, or do you like...
Loving Truth or Dare!
After years of mainly chypres, aldehydes and colognes, loving Truth or Dare is like a soft, sweet perfume revolution. This is the first time I really like white flowers, and...
Prada Infusion d'Iris is sheer, light and sad.
Chanel, if the exclusives are counted in. But I guess they are not?
Guerlain it is.
The idea is fascinating and I have wished I would find an evil twin :-)
I'll keep looking...
At the moment:
1. Barbershop scents
I for one got some useful information from this thread. Most of the lovely scents you listed, misscasey, are also for me too sweet to wear, but I have almost ordered Molinard de Molinard unsniffed,...
Was Molinard de Molinard less sweet at all to you, compared to the others?
What's it sweetness like? Heavy? Cloying? Gourmand? Flowery sweetness?
My friend wore Anaïs Anaïs. She smelled great.
I couldn't wear the same so I had to find something else. Red Door.
No. I don't wear it anymore.
mesaboogie, people talk about this both on the men's and on the womens's side because this is a perfume discussion board ;-)
Not because we think there actually is a love potion out there that...
None. Nobody has melted :-(
I wish they would.
Crystal Noir is very different from Bright Crystal, one might hate one and like the other.
There ought to be a sticky for a certain type of ANSWER, not just for this certain question !
What answer am I talking about?
Something like this:
"..A cologne is not going to get you chicks, you...
Mugler Cologne might mix deliciously with his own scent.
He might also like the concept and the design of the bottles. Minimalistic and retro.
( + a great showergel and a nice soap that look good...
Bvlgari Pour Homme
In my mind map Guerlain Anisia Bella and Armani Onde Vertige are anisic white florals.
Anisia Bella a bit lighter, Vertige a bit more perfumey. Both quite feminine fragrances,
more on the light...
As much as I like all the versions on No.5, after 9 months of actively wearing these, I find Eau Première heavier than the EDT. The EDT is the lightest and the sheerest, and it feels easiest...
Who's semen is it?
my choices would be...
no.5 (different versions layered)
bal a versailles
gucci by gucci
brin de reglisse (licorice-toffee drydown)
... Eau de Sisley No.1, No.2 and No.3 would be all that.
Soir De Lune
Mugler Cologne. Absolutely perfect, has soap + showergel too. I desagree with burberry london, that one I like to smell on someone at least 25-30 years old. Not for a 15 year old, IMO.
guerlain l'instant magic, starts happy and very soon takes a melancholy twist.
Starts off cologneish but quickly turns into something completely not cologne like.
I love cologne and this was absolutely not for me.
This scent seems to be incredibly popular these days, every...
I do not have a strong opinion on the subject. Somehow I've learned and managed to use them all, more or less accurately. It was confusing for me in the beginning and I did have to find out why it...
Diesel Fuel For Life comes first into my mind.
Very worth trying.
Is there a thread of perfumes with high dose of Iso E Super?
Sisley Eau De Campagne! Gorgeous on a man during summer!
At the moment on me, a female, the sexiest is Bvlgari Pour Homme.
I wore Sisley's Eau De Campagne lotion (very green to me) + Eau Du Soir perfume (very chypre to me).
A friend said: "You smell good. Like melon!"
+7? +8? On Le Male and Les Fleurs Du Male.
These two may be combatted with a hidious third one... Gaultier2.
I absolutely do not understand the popularity of Le Male. It is one fragrance I...
Kenzo Amour Le Parfum. The bronze bottle, not the original Amour.
A soft, ambery-vanillic comfort scent.
I'd love to smell Bronze Goddess more on men,
please do and make at least one woman (passing by, smiling in recognizion of the scent) happy!
Paco Rabanne One Million
Fruity they are, and good, but don't know about the sillage...
I'm right there with you soirdelune.
Soir de Lune is a huge favourite of mine, having a beautiful, beautiful drydown.
I suspect that anyone who thinks it's somehow bad (meaning the quality, not...
That flanker in gold/ broze bottle -Amour Le Parfum- is by far my favourite. It's a treat as a
bedtime scent during cold winter nights.
Reporting in as one of those ladies to whom Kouros was spoiled in the 80's.
Everyone wore it, young and old.
But I can still imagine liking it on "dry and skinny" types of men. Unfortunately, for...
I understand what you mean by wanting a similar scent that a certain men's scent is, but maby just not quite that masculine? I like Pi, but there is a certain very masculine vibe that prohibits me...
All Sisley scents. All 6 of them.
A woman's point of view. What I like most on men in summer is Mugler Cologne and Sisley's Eau De Campagne. So, so nice.
That could be my list Julienne. Plus I'd add lily and violet.
And I too like musk and amber quite a lot, so, you're probably right.
The whole genre, plus how a perfume and a mans' chemistry work together. The way for example Attitude, The One for men, Eau de Campagne, Burberry London for men or Dior Homme smell on a mans skin...
Bronze Goddess. To me not because of the beachy associations (I don't get those),
but BG smells like sunshine, the colour yellow, and fruits apricot and peach to me.
One more female here who prefers and uses The One For Men. It is the only masculine I wear regularly. Definitely try on skin! And leather. This one is so good on leather jackets and leather gloves I...
Yes, I for one do agree. I find this scent is a bit underestimated. I very, very seldom like white florals, and personally do not wear any, but I really like Versace by Versace on a friend of mine....
One serious Eau De Campagne lover here too!
Did anyone mention yet that it was created by Ellena? Year 1974 if I remember correctly...
Looking great! Thanks for the picture!
I didn't participate with suggestions in this thread but read it and waited for the solution, the fragrance.
Fun and nice.
I definitely like Code better of the two. Double Black to me is too messy and thick. (May I suggest that you also try Armani Attitude. It could be the perfect cross section between Code and double...
Yes, Liquid Satin is very nice. It's the same scent but softer. I like both, and ofcourse all Lovely -products are nice when layered.
I also enjoy layering Lovely bodylotion and Narciso Rodriguez.
In a blindtest I thought this was Hypnose. I was sure it was Hypnose. It also reminded me of Fragile and Angel Innocent.
Paco Rabanne "Gold" is fruity, it's fairly new too, so not everyone smells like it...
Though I personally am not very much into fruity scents, I have to say this one
was really nice, and as a woman...
Sort of... We use each others scents, so we catch whifs of all our scents on both of us. Last one we switched was his The One for me and my Gucci by Gucci for him. The One was gorgeous on me, but...
I just found a very surprising similarity in NR and Sisley Soir De Lune. Not in the beginning, not in the top notes. They start differently. But the drydown is amazingly similar. Soir De Lune is...
Soir De Lune starts out pretty metallic, but it fades away...
I have some positive and encouraging experiences to share here.
I'm a woman,38. My best friend is a man,34. He didn't use any cologne before I seriously got into perfumes 1½ years ago. I took him...
Two very different scents that supposedly have frangipani: Armani Onde Vertige and Kenzo Amour LE PARFUM. Those two are so different I can definitely say I do not recognize frangipani, since I don't...
Some think Gucci by Gucci has the same feel and likeness to both Lovely and NR, even though there's quite a lot of patchouli in it and it's a "thick" scent.
I don't have NR, but have smelled it. I...
Eau d'Iparie is very nice. I find it dry, woody, incency, w. myrrh and amber, also lightly fruity but not sweet. Compared to the notes listed/ mentioned it is surprisingly light and very wearable. It...
Sisley Eau De Campagne.
Very classy and very citrusy (green). One of my favourite scents on a man.
Lauder, Pleasures Exotic
I'm a woman. I like many masculines. The ones that make me literally weak in the knees are easy to find and mainstream.
For men 30+
D & G The One
Dior Homme /...
Sometimes the combo of perfume and some sweating is great!
DH wears Sisley Eau de Campagne and the more he sweats the sweeter and nicer the
If you are sweating A LOT at work why not...
L'Occitane might be one good choice, but I do not remember powdery scents in the line...
bergamot (iris, figue, gardenia/tiare flower)
I don't mind wrong pronounciation, foreign languages really can be very difficult, to each and every one of us.
But I do mind when an SA completely lacks basic knowledge and therefore leads a...
YES, if it was Mugler Cologne! I could swim in that...
Seconding this. I don't find Kouros especially inviting or attractive, though there's nothing wrong with the fragrance.
It's difficult to make Kouros smell like "You". When a man wears Kouros I...
Anais Anais, Red Door, Ysatis, Gucci III and LouLou had their time.
I enjoyed them but have no need to go back there.
Sisley Soir de Lune
I'm a woman and I wear this. Very unisex, BUT... At times this is a little too masculine, but it is never too feminine, so... I'd say it's a wee bit more on the masculine side.
Turns on: Armani Attitude, D&G The One, Dior Homme, L'Occitane Badian.
Turns off: Jean-Paul Gaultier -scents, the worst is Gaultier2. Also aquatic scents and sporty scents.
Gucci by Gucci, maby more so in the EDT version than the EDP version.
(This is so interesting, I never would have guessed some perceive Armani Code, Sensuous, OR Notorious to be similar to Lovely....
Kenzo Amour and Amour Le Parfum.
Informative and easy to read. That's where I got most of my information when this perfume crazyness first started for me...
I read it almost daily.
