Hello all,
I’m wearing Chanel No. 22 again today. I’m attending physical therapy for my knee and, happily, it’s working. I’m also attacking a list of procrastination items this month. The exterior...

An oldie but a goodie!
Hello all,
I’m wearing Chanel No. 22 again today. It’s excellent but it doesn’t Wow me like Coromandel and Cuir de Russie do. I really do adore patchouli and leather scents.
Teardrop, best...
Touching story, rynegne. The effects of such incidents are wide ranging.
I’m wearing Chanel No. 22 today. The weather is gloomy so I’m going to turn on lights, put on happy music, and try to cheer...
I’ve been invited to attend Vivid Sydney, a large scale light, music, and ideas festival. An Orange County friend and I will travel together and our host is an Australian who is a former longtime...
Good idea! I’ll present Miss Lauren with a decant at our upcoming holiday party. Lauren once worked for a fashion house in NYC, so I’m sure she’ll appreciate it. I think she looks up to me as an old...
Wonderful story, FiveoaksBouquet! I recently found a young woman to give my mink to (finally!) It’s probably no surprise that I’m wearing No. 22 again today. I’m really enjoying repeated wears of my...
Hello all,
I’m wearing Chanel No. 22 today. This thread is such a joy: frosty mornings, perfumed elderly ladies, kitties, etc. The simple things that make life good!
Have a good day.
Thank you, CuddleCat! I’ve been studying your geography so I actually know the places you’re referring to. Darjeeling is in Sydney so he’s my other resource. I can’t wait to be there in person!
Perhaps your last chance to really enjoy Tam Dao for a while.
I ended my Cuir de Russie streak by wearing Chanel No. 22. It seems I’m running through my Chanel Exclusifs lately. I especially enjoy them this time of year.
My sister gave me a vintage canister, the old basket weave design, so I purchased a Mitsouko refill to put into it. It’s nice to use.
Hello all,
I’m wearing Chanel No. 22. To my nose, it smells the most vintage stylistically of all the old Chanels.
I’m going for a short walk outside today. It’ll be the first time since my...
Cuddlecat, I do hope you’ll keep us informed about seasonal weather Down Under. I’m visiting in May and trying to get my head around the opposite seasons. It was super hot in the Los Angeles metro...
I’ll join you on the diet, Shycat! I’m sick to death of eating and we can get a one-month jump start on other people’s New Years resolutions.
Hello all,
My SOTD is Chanel Cuir de Russie. After yesterday’s belated Thanksgiving feast, I never want to eat again. It’s a good day to resume dieting.
Have a good day.
December Rotation:
Chanel No. 22
Cuir Impertinent
Fille En Aiguilles
L’Air du Desert Marocain
Mon Guerlain
I’m not crazy about its name but I generally like Patchouli scents and Diptyque offerings.
What a delightful post, tigrushka! I very much value learning about your wearing trends and experience with your perfume choices.
My stats:
10 wears: Coromandel
5 wears: Chanel Cuir de Russie...
Good call on the Opium, N.CAL.
My personal iconic classics are Bandit, Mitsouko, and Chanel No. 19.
I use duck fat every morning to cook my eggs. I buy it from Amazon in bottles Imported from Canada. It really is the best flavored fat.
You could be describing my son! When he was still in college I got him Aventus. He loved how it smelled and it was a big hit when worn for social occasions. He wore Curve during daily activities, if...
Cuir de Russie. I think I’m getting addicted to the morning drydown experience.
I would try it but I gave away my Angel Muse during my Wardrobe Purge!
I am, however, also wearing two fragrances today: Cuir de Russie and Un Bois Vanille. I’m wearing CdR because I’m on a streak...
Hello all,
I’m wearing Chanel Cuir de Russie with a spritz of Un Bois Vanille to the top of each hand to participate in the sync. Happy Hazel5 Sync Day!
I love the music discussion. Yesterday,...
Lady Brett Ashley, by chance?
You’ve been warned. (Reread Redneck Perfumisto’s post.)
I’m wearing Chanel Cuir de Russie for the third day in a row because I don’t want to confuse my nose by switching perfumes too much. Besides, I usually reapply my SOTD at bedtime and the morning...
The only vanillaish note in my current wardrobe is the Bourbon vanilla in Mugler Aura. Maybe...
I enjoyed NonBlond very much. She’ll be missed. Condolences to all she left behind.
Going Grunge: leggings, big sweater over a camisole, knit skull cap. I painted my nails orange for the seasonal holiday (red is my usual signature color).
Hello all,
Happy Thanksgiving! We’re having a big extended family celebration tomorrow, so today we’re having our son and his husband over for Chinese takeout and a game of Lanterns. We’ll...
I love all the talk about pie baking today! I made two pumpkin pies and a chocolate cheesecake. I used to wear Like This when baking but, alas, I gave it away recently. I don’t miss it though......
If I’m not still on a Chanel Cuir de Russie streak, I’d consider the weirdly gourmand Serge Lutens Jeux de Peau or the elegant Dior Oud Ispahan.
I reapplied my SOTD Chanel Cuir de Russie and glad I did. The drydown in the morning was quite amazing - sweet and sour with a touch of smoke.
Day Two of Chanel Cuir de Russie. I thought about wearing Guerlain Heritage on this rainy day but I want to get to know Cuir de Russie in more depth. I’ve owned it for years and the bottle is halfway...
Hello all,
I’m wearing Chanel Cuir de Russie. It’s cleaning day prior to the Thanksgiving holiday, which we’re celebrating on Friday instead of Thursday. It’s supposed to rain today so I’m pretty...
Not sarcastic at all! I genuinely appreciate the aesthetic. I’ve not seen it before so it’s new to me. I have a feeling (now) that it may have a certain reputation.
Fabulous bottle design and name!
Hilarious, thrilledchilled! Maybe, just maybe...
Today I’m burning a Nest candle named Sahara Spice.
Apropos of nothing, does anybody remember the old Illuminations candle stores that closed years ago? I miss going there.
Dang, you got me! I thought your post was about one of my favorite whiskeys, rye. Carry on!
I wasn’t going to comment on this thread because it seems to center on fake fragrances with which I have no experience whatsoever. However, I am very interested in responsible/ethical disposal of...
Good to know, N.CAL. We always get SF Bay Area weather the next day here in So. Cal. so I’ll brace myself for tomorrow’s storm.
I’m wearing Chanel Cuir de Russie today. I don’t wear it often and...
Thank you, Bavard! I find people’s SOTD selection process interesting.
I’m wearing Chanel Cuir de Russie today because it popped into my mind as an option yesterday so I’m following up on the...
Serge Lutens DaimBlond is $54.17 on Fragrance Net.
I finally broke my one-week+ Coromandel steak. I thought about segueing to another Chanel, Cuir de Russie. I also considered Guerlain Heritage. I ended up with Twilly d’Hermes Eau Poivree because I...
Lubriderm lotion
Hello all,
I’m wearing Twilly d’Hermes Eau Poivree today. I didn’t used to think I liked pink peppercorn in perfume but I do like it in Twilly. It smells more like black pepper to my nose.
Have...
I notice you have a few nice Comme des Garçons in your wardrobe. Are you a fan?
I’m compliant with regulations. It’s not too big a deal for me because I rarely ship perfume, except for my recent giveaways.
I occasionally test new fragrances at night because I’m relaxed and able to pay attention, especially to the top notes. If I like the dry down the next day the scent might graduate to daytime wear....
I’ve always loved the name Beige, FiveoaksBouquet. I’m told by our local Chanel SA that it’s one of the more popular Chanel Exclusifs here in Orange County.
I’m wearing Coromandel again today. I...
Hello all,
I’m wearing Coromandel again today. It’s da bomb!
Have a good day.
I wore Coromandel again today because I’m on a streak and just don’t want to stop. It smells so good, especially in our cooler weather.
I’m just discovering Habit Rogue via sample today and the last few nights. It brings Jicky to mind so it would be a good transition.
I can see that. I reapplied this morning so I think it’s growing on me. Habit Rouge is certainly fascinating!
Guerlain Habit Rouge. I’m not sure I could handle a full daytime wear because it’s so sweet and strong. A real statement!
Spoken like a true BNer!
I’m wearing Coromandel for the fifth day in a row. I’m gonna keep wearing it until I don’t want to anymore or something else strikes my fancy.
Hello all,
I’m in sync with Coromandel, which brings to mind a fuzzy, taupe, cashmere shawl. Cozy.
FINALLY, the weather is starting to cool down here. It’s sweater time!
Have a good day.
No backups, N.CAL. Someday I might finish a bottle, and when I do I’d like to get something new.
Hello all,
It’s Coromandel again today.
Shycat, your kittens are so mischievous!
Have a good day.
I agree prominent logos ruin clothing and I refuse to wear them. Same thing with DKNY: I love the cut, texture, and color of many but No Can Do on the logos.
I agree that a smaller collection feels more intimate and personal because they’re meant to be worn.
Coromandel... I can’t quit you, babe.
Hello all,
I’m wearing Coromandel again today. It’s so wearable.
Happy birthday, Kotori!
Both of you are very welcome! It gives me great satisfaction to find out my fragrances are appreciated and valued. It has made the process of letting go much easier!
From one warm climate dweller to another, I cherish “sweater weather.” Just as long as the temperatures do not descend to “coat weather”!
I’m continuing to wear Coromandel today. Ah...
I just applied Habit Rouge for bedtime.
Very nice! I own and wear Guerlain Heritage. Love it!
“Informed” blind buys work pretty well for me.
I’m on a Coromandel streak this week. I like repeat wears until something else breaks the spell.
How about “mood” scents - ones that make you feel happy, introspective, comforted, nostalgic?
Gotcha, Quarry! Stage of life honing, it is (while sporting smaller pants )
I’m wearing Coromandel today. Sublime.
Have a good day.
Right now, I’m wearing dabs of Jicky on each wrist and Mon Guerlain sprayed to the chest as an experiment. I’m wearing them together because they have similar scent profiles and I want to find out if...
My perfect Sunday: I’m watching NASCAR while eating kettle corn, drinking water, and huffing my Guerlain Heritage. I’ll put up the Christmas tree in a little while.
“Practice makes perfect!” I’m getting better at manifesting my inner Lazy Person.
White flowers are especially enjoyable in the dead of winter. I like to wear them in late December through January. They are a refreshing antidote to all the heavy fragrances I wear in the preceding...
I’m wearing Guerlain Heritage because it’s a warming scent on chilly autumn morning.
Guerlain Heritage edp
It’s Twilly d’Hermes Eau Poivree this fall day. Perfection!
My pleasure, Kera. Your enthusiasm and gratitude make it all worthwhile. Enjoy!
I just sent an email via their website perfumestheguide.com.
I would have said,
Tuscan Leather - Beef Jerky
I ended up giving my bottle away even though I wore it a lot at first, especially when wearing an old leather jacket.
Hello all,
In sync with Diptyque Eau de Lierre, which I applied last night at bedtime. According to the guide, it’s “watered gin”. I concur. I’m not enjoying it so it won’t be reapplied after...
Diptyque Eau de Lierre - sprayed on top of each hand to preview for Friday sync. The morning dry down is NOT good; just kind of faint sour green.
Well done, FiveoaksBouquet!
Amber Absolute
Noir de Noir
Ombré Leather 16
Oud Minerale
Tobacco Vanille
My faves for stated criteria:
Guerlain Heritage
Chergui
I’ve done that, ineespenes. It’s a blast!
Agreed, PerfumedLady! This sync appeals to the contrarian in me.
I’ll be wearing Diptyque Eau de Lierre, “watered gin”, probably for the last time. After my recent massive wardrobe purge, it’s...
I’m wearing Coromandel for the second day in a row. Once I get started with it, it’s very hard to quit. Why bother trying? It’s my very favorite fragrance, or at least in strong competition with Oud...
Hello all,
It’s Day Two of Coromandel. Purr... it’s olfactory texture is “furry” in my experience.
Ryan, so sorry for your work troubles. I wish you could just concentrate on being productive...
I’m on my second bottle!
A couple BN ladies wore Coromandel yesterday so I was inspired to be a lemming.
The idea of refilling my Cuir Impertinent in Montréal is tremendously appealing!
It could have been me, Mike. I recall participating in a huddle of BNers at the counter at the Hermès boutique. I love the idea of the group melding into the persona of Perfumed Lady!
I’m wearing...
