    Re: Opulent scents?

Just wanted to post a follow up in case anyone was interested. I did manage to get my hands on a few decants of the fragrances suggested.

That seems to align with what I personally consider opulent. There are several that have been mentioned (like Opium and M7) that I really like but... I don't consider them as straying into the...

    Re: Opulent scents?

I went through about 8-10 Xerjoff samples a couple of months ago, since everyone talked so highly about the house. There were a few I thought were merely ok, but none of them, I felt, really took it...

My wife wears Shalimar, so that has kind of turned me off on wearing it myself, but I'd say it absolutely belongs on this list. I can only imagine how a bottle of extrait from the 50s would compare...

Was looking up Diagilev.... I own a few somewhat expensive-per-ml frags... but that is on a whole new level.

    Re: Opulent scents?

Thanks again for your input. I've added Ottoman Empire and Pour le Soir to the "hunt down list".
I've got a bottle of Tsarina, though I don't know if I would push it quite into the opulence...

    Re: Opulent scents?

:D It's why I put it high in the list. It, Egoise, and Jubilation 25 just have... what I would equate to a warm-velvet scent profile in my nose. It's kind of like french press coffee vs drip coffee...

    Thanks for your suggestions.

It seems like I'm really having a hard time describing my tastes (or maybe we just have different tastes).
I've tried coromandel and Heritage, and like both, though...

    Re: Opulent scents?

Tabac Rouge and Aoud Vanille seem easy enough to find a sample of. The Tabac Rouge comparison to TFTV makes me think I've already got it covered though. I guess I'll just have to keep an eye out for...

    Opulent scents?

As the title says, I'm looking for more "opulent" scents to wear. By that I mean, rich full bodied fragrances. To give the examples that I always use, I consider the following to be rich or opulent:...
  16. WTB: Early vintage Chanel Egoiste Cologne Concentree

As the title states, I'm on the hunt for another bottle of Chanel's Egoiste Cologne Concentree. The vintage version, with the concentration printed above the Chanel logo.
    Thanks!
  17. Re: Chanel Egoist New Formulation Odd Drydown Your Experience?

I bought a newer batch to complement a vintage bottle of egoiste cc. At that point I had only ever smelled the vintage, and was amazed by it. The new formula has a horrible fecal note that comes up...
  18. ISO Absolute Aphrodisiac by Initio Parfums

Like I said, it's painful trying to find a retailer for this one. Looking for Absolute Aphrodisiac by Initio Parfums, an amazing vanilla.
  19. ISO: Ormonde Man, L'Eau Scandaleuse, Le Musc & La Peau, Cuir Obscur

The title covers most of it, but to provide additional details I'm looking for:

Ormonde Jayne - Ormonde Man (would really prefer full presentation) specifically looking for 120ml
    Anatole...

I've tried the 2003 version, and I thought it was ok. I didn't get all the hype though. Haven't tried the original.

Dead on with Anteaus btw. I have a new release 2016, with a 2010'ish 10ml sample as well. I think there is a difference in scent though, with my tastes running to the older mix.
    I have Heritage...
  26. Re: Looking for a cheap daily wearer as I can't afford to wear my expensive frags anymore

If the 5 bottles you listed are 100ml, you should already have enough fragrance to last you at least 4 years of university if you're spraying ~5 shots a day. So wear them and enjoy them!

    Hoping for exciting for suggestions

  30. Wanted: Samples as a lot (primarily niche or unusual)
