Xerjoff Gao has a lovely saffron note. I find it to be quite a piercing smell.
I've ordered once; 2 bottles. Delivery was swift to the UK and came in the padded bag with carrier bags inside (wrapped around the perfumes) which I ripped apart with much amusement. Everything...
One of my top scents, love it. Planning a back up bottle soon too.
MFK Lumiere Noire
True that, thanks, will remember to watch out for it.
I tend to label the pipettes once used and keep them in a sealed bag for future use.
My OCD won't tolerate even the tiniest molecule of contamination :D
Jazz, Joop, Safari, Cool Water, Gucci Rush, Diesel Plus Plus. Must have smelt quite good for a teen :D
I was very impressed with Sand Aoud, lovely.
Dior Ambre Nuit
Bear in mind that you may like it the first time you smell it but you should give it at least one full wearing before making a purchase! I tend to wear something about 3 times before buying a full...
I've gone all out Mongolian today : Genghis Khan.
It may be easier if you specify what you are after?
Yes they do. I've bought dozens from firstinfragrance (the first link). I haven't yet tried essenza but they are reputable.
Seeing as you're in the EU have you tried
They both deliver.
If I ever got asked I'd give the name, not the price, they can look it up themselves. I end up going into 'geek/fraghead' mode if I go past the name by detailing top notes etc...
Seher al Kalimat by Arabian Oud.
I've just dug up my sample of this. Definitely a spicy opening, reminiscent of AgarAura's Baghdad attar. Spicy top notes are quite intense, wouldn't recommend a blind buy (although I like it).
I know many families, generally of Middle Eastern background, who use oud as a scent either by applying fragrances containing it (real or synthetic) or burning the wood in their homes. This includes...
The presence of a synthetic oud note is questionable with some fragrances (it being known there is no real, oud present). I tend to take it as a given that oud mentioned in a fragrance discussion...
I'll take a day away from my oud oils and give it a more analytical sniff!
If there is any oud in it all (debatable!) then it is a mere suggestion of the real thing imo.
From the sounds of it, the news you are giving them will cause more offence than any scent you are wearing.
Why go to the lengths of changing yourself if unable to affect the outcome for your...
Safari isn't the same beast it used to be. It used to be my signature when I was in my late teens.
Recently I stocked up on a few bottles and was a little disappointed to find that it wasn't as...
I still turn to my pure oud oils for my oud fix though :D
Good thing I'm in the EU then :D
I'd be interested in a Puredistance M split if one gets going.
MFK Cashmere Mood
MFK Velvet Mood
MFK Silk Oud
Mancera Sand Oud
Armani Prive Oud
Pure Oud By Kilian
Amber Oud By Kilian
Got Chopard Oud Malaki coming tomorrow - may recommend...
Here's some interest on a second bottle!
Is it worth getting all four? Are they dissimilar enough to warrant a purchase of each?
I've got Essenza which I think is lovely.
A dark, green oud, perhaps something like Kencana from AgarAura. They would blend in perfectly with the forest.
Christian Dior Ambre Nuit Cologne 250ml
Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune Eau de Toilette 75ml
Acqua Di Parma Colonia Essenza Eau de Cologne Spray 180ml
I don't do drugs, alcohol or tobacco - scents are my 'vice' :)
I love the way a fragrance has an effect on my soul, uplifts me and makes me happy.
This is what I imagine Danny Trejo would look like if portraying a rich sailor instead of Mexican gangsters :D
Aaah, thanks, missed them :(
Any plans on adding Roja Dove Diaghilev? It seems a shame not to have it with all the other Roja Doves!
Will do, thanks :)
Also need to update my wardrobe...
I know what you mean! There are a few thousand people in my workplace and I get wafts that choke me on a daily basis!
I'm going to have to draw up an 'endangered' list!
The bit in your reply about knowing what is at risk is the tricky bit for myself. Is there a way of finding out what is at risk?
Is this basically going to affect all perfumes or particular ones?
Im thinking about backup bottles!
Anything - any day.
I would be torn between Cashmere Mood by MFK & Armani Prive Oud Royal.
I'd hate to ever make that decision!
Are you going to be doing an Italian Cypress and/or Jardin Di Amalfi anytime soon?
We're all a little impatient at times ;)
Hope you're back on form soon Kron, need more UK splits!

Sorry I realised that comes across wrong! Hope you recover quickly is...
My 3 year old daughter asks for some of my oud/attar/perfume on her whenever she smells something off me :)
She has yet to experience her first spritz but keeps asking. I'm hesitant/cautious...
Having put some of it into an atomiser and sprayed it I am very happy with it. It was a blind buy and is lovely fragrance and to top it off, I learnt something too! (Vintage often in splash form)
I have a bottle of LP9 and 1870.
Probably getting a bottle of Castile too.
Would like to try Hammam Bouquet.
Or even 2 days in a row!
MFK Cashmere Mood & Velvet Mood
Also Zafar and Gao from Xerjoff
I don't think the others do a great job of making an Oud dominant fragrance. That's why I've ended up with pure oud oils.
Thanks, use via decant it is for me then.
I didn't know that. I was a bit surprised, this is my first vintage purchase.
I wasn't saying there is a link, it's just the first time I've bought an edt and there isn't a sprayer :)
Wondering what other owners' experiences were/are. If the same as mine, is it applied after...
Today I received a 50ml bottle of vintage GK edt. The box says edt, the bottle says edt, the sticker on the bottom of the bottom says edt, but there isn't a sprayer.
Is this normal or...
Everyday is a scent day.
If sampling then I wear a few. Normal days consist of one scent in the morning, possibly another one in the evening, and a dab or two of oud oil(s).
I didn't use to but do on occasion now. It depends on the scent.
I do like to apply a scent in the morning and then another one later in the evening when I get home and get out of my suit,
TF Plum Japonais
Excellent ideas cacio! Thanks. I keep my suit on too so will try that out today :)
Cacio, do you get to smell the scent when wearing your suit if you spray your armpits? Do you take your suit jacket off during the day?
The number of sprays you wear is down to you at the end of the day. Some have a heightened sense of smell, others not so.
Yes, one should take into account the impact it has on other people in the...
Amouage Attar: Tribute and Homage
It has taught me I like woody and oriental scents.
It has also reminded me of my love for Oud; having gone on a mad rollercoaster of purchasing anything with Oud in the name (and realising that...
Zafar and Gao are nice.
Blind bought Genghis Khan vintage 50ml. All because of Hednic's love for it :D
One man's over usage is another man's under usage ;)
Accumulator here too, may need therapy at some point!
I'm doing fine so far. I have looked at my wording to see if there was any room for interpretation and squeezing in a purchase that wasn't on my list but alas :D
They are friendly - but couldn't get any samples :( UK
Extreme Oud By Kilian
I've tried most of them. My favourites:
Jubilation XXV (Got FB)
Epic (on FB list)
Dia (Got FB)
Reflection (Got FB)
Interlude (possibly FBW)
One of my favourite houses for sure.
Never thought of the fingers! Thanks :)
I know what you mean. I try to remember to wear a t-shirt for easy access to more places to spray.
The only problem with spraying on the bicep is that when your arm is bent the perfume can rub off...
I did the same. I have 6 items remaining on my current list and then after those no more purchases until December 2014 as I'll have basically everything that I like/love. Then it's about focusing on...
That is a fantastic idea! Thanks for sharing!
Not quite today, 2 days ago: Extreme Oud By Kilian (blind buy)
Thanks for the reply. I recently got some samples from AgarAura which came without hassle. Still deciding which are FBW.
I wanted to get a selection of samples from Oudimentary (and Ensar too). I...
Has anybody any experience ordering from Oudimentary to the UK? https://oudimentary.com
I've been in touch with them and know they deliver. However am concerned about customs.
Or is it the case...
Aah, that's right. I've got some at home somewhere. Haven't tried it with bread yet...
My Moroccan friends dip their bread in it and eat it :D He asks he'd rather have it do it's magic from the inside. Apparently it is common practice.
Lol, same here. Out of all the ones I've sampled I've ended up with
3) Original Santal
I do need to sample the likes of Jardin d'Amalfi though.
Should we start stockpiling favourite scents that use this?!
You can make an offer and if the seller agrees they can amend the listing for you. That way it is above board in the sense that a) you're complying with eBay and b) you're safe as you will pay...
You could always stand in the rain and look up...
Excellent, good to hear you're a fellow BN'er. I placed another order with you this week too!
Their Facebook page indicates that.
I'd probably sell the wife :D
I got soft material pouches decorated with sequins. Very nice. Fragrances are fine.
What I have noticed is that one spray (or more) on the sternum provides a nice scent stream throughout the day if the top button is left undone. Haven't noticed it when wearing t-shirts but maybe...
That would be very kind of you and most appreciated.
Ouds are fine in the summer. I see it as sort of taking the Oud back to its childhood - it grew up in the sun :) Plus the heat and our bodies' reaction to it (heat) can bring out different nuances.
I usually only spray once - that is on each wrist, back of both hands, sides of neck, sternum and nape of neck :D
If restricted to one spray it would be the back of my right hand so I can smell it...
A friend of mine used to sell decants on the bay and he has stopped. He said that ebay contacted him and told him to stop, he also got warned.
I found a guy on ebid, goes by the name of...
That's actually very interesting - and nit-picky too! I suppose it's also similar to the case of a used bottle.
I'm not a scientist but it surely must a negligible effect.
Best bet is to spray...
Every day, I look forward to it!
The nice thing about having lots of FBs and samples is the huge variety.
Amouage Opus VII (Man) has a very strong cardamom note. This was too much for my nose!
I also got it from Fate Man and Interlude Man but to a lesser degree.
I like the lipstick holder solution!
Mine are currently squatting in a couple of carrier bags.
A few sprays of Zafar by Xerjoff should do the job nicely.
MFK Cashmere Mood: the heavy oud blast in the opening appeals to, and communicates with, my animal side - in a sort of 'stroking the mane of a lion' way. I find it to be a reassuring scent,...
Not relevant to purchases but this may be helpful:
Ameer al Oudh (Lattafa)
They're the ones that come to mind straight off - at the moment that is :D
I've got a decant, it's nice and I'd probably buy 50-75 ml of it. I can't see myself finishing a full bottle (with all the others I use) but availability issues may persuade a FB purchase, hard to...
The best blind buy for me is probably Oud for Love by The Different Company. It smells lovely and it was a bargain :)
