Rive Gauche. Have a good day everyone!
Good morning everyone.
It's looking like a very warm day here so far (well warm
for us Brits that is!)
I shall wear Eau de Rochas, when I eventually get dressed.
I need to test the C&E Lily soon and Muguet Fleuri sounds good too.
For the moment I am enjoying Idylle edt and Yves Rocher Comme Une Evidence A
New Day Dawns.
Here is a photo of Jane when she was young:
Calzim, your girlfriend has more than a hint of Jane Birkin about her,
so I suggest L'Air de Rien.
Kumquat you look very elegant and approachable.
I see you in Donna Karan Gold or Nohiba (E.Coudray)
Zeniba you are very pretty. I suggest Rive Gauche or Vanille Abricot.
EMK you have lovely...

I'm burning Papier d'Armenie created by Francis Kurkdjian.

mingled in with the flowers - lilac . lily-of-the-valley and peony
Tee hee! Naughty boy.
Hello! It's a wonderful, sunny morning here and I am just venturing out
to visit one of my elderly ladies ( I am a volunteer befriender.)
I have decided to wear Premier Figuier and some Factor 15.
Are you tempted?
My favourite name is "Evening Edged With Gold" by Ineke.
I also love the sound of their "Chemical Bonding."
As for French names, I favour "Ce Soir Ou Jamais," "Teint de Neige", "Carillon Pour Un...

"A" Men (Mugler)
I did mention Anne Pliska in my post Kumquat - love it to bits!
I have actually had people "nuzzle" me whilst wearing it.
Just off to have a look there myself! Thanks for the post.
It was created in the late 90's my friend! The house is Spanish but I don't think the perfumer was. Happy guessing.
Welcome to Roky! Hello to all you Fathers out there and hope you are enjoying
the longest day.
I started off wearing Le Baiser du Dragon but it made me crave Mauboussin, which I applied on top...
Teardrop, I must try some Stoned sometime soon, I think I may just love it!
I had forgotten Imperial Opoponax, which I do have.
I think the Amouages are well out of my price range but we can all...
I keep their first book beside my bed and refer to it all the time. I admire their witty writing style
so much. Can't wait for the new release!
I have come to the conclusion, after years of experimenting with samples and purchases
of all kinds that I am, at heart, totally enamored with those wonderfully, rich orientals so magnificently...
I am sampling Le Baiser du Dragon by Alberto Morillas for Cartier.
This evocative scent was discontinued and then reissued. Mine is a
7ml sample bottle with a dabber (no spray).
Good lord! I can't believe a thread I started nearly five years ago is still going strong.
To my great shame I had actually forgotten about this and didn't even realise it had been
moved to a...
Vetiver Pour Elle is notoriously hard to come by.
I believe it is only sold at one airport and one railway
station in Paris! Why for heaven's sake?
I for one would love to try it.
I agree that the hairs would help hold the scent longer.
I often spray my hair with scent for that very reason.
If your chest isn't hairy it wouldn't work the same I guess!
Donna Karan Gold
Le Parfum de Therese (EDP Frederic Malle)
Ambre et Vanille (E.Coudray)
Eau de Rochas
Love the dress!
I suggest Premier Figuier or Donna Karan Gold.

What perfumes do you wear and enjoy?
In synch with Cristobal. This one garners may compliments for me.
I am going with Cristobal - this one gets me compliments galore.
I too like the bottles and they would stop light pollution for sure.

hookah pipe vapours!! (narguile)
They do sound...
Please consider what you are writing, silentrich, bearing in mind the rules and regulations of Basenotes!
Agreeing with Hedic. It's a very personal thing looking for that "holy grail!"
For me it was quite a while before I worked out that I am most attracted to
soft. spicy orientals. Eventually you...
An old rock chic here - I saw The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Santana (amazing!)
and Dire Straits back in the day. I was also studying classical music at the time

Thanks for all your suggestions. i will have to have a sniffathon one day
I am besotted with Le Parfum de Therese. Edmond Roudnitska at his very best.
I find it a beguiling, sensual scent that is unlike any other.
I didn't get on with Epices Noires, however - too...

version of Cristobal. I will always have a place in my heart
for this beautiful perfume.
It has been a beautiful, sunny day here.

Enjoy your break Teardrop and I hope the weather stays fine for you.
Congrats to tdem!
My SOTD is Fleur d'Oranger by Lutens.
Are you advertising a product? If so, this is not the correct thread.
L'Haleine des Dieux - isn't that too near in name to Breath of God?
Will be surprised if they get away with that if Gorilla perfumes hear of it!
Hoping SFMedusa is healing well!

They aren't listening to their customers.
Bring back Theorema, Asja and Fendi I say!
Theorema was Christine Nagel at her very best
and one of my favourite scents ever - so creamy, spicy
They discontinued Theorema too which was a tragedy IMO. It was Christine
Nagel at her very best. Asja was beautiful also.
Someone in that company needs to listen to what the public wants!
I find Les Nereides Opoponax Imperial to be Barbershop-like.

How about Parfum Initial by Guerlain?
It is a softer, more accessible version of the original Shalimar
and very lovely.
I have had a communication from the owner, Jason, and he is willing to source rarer
scents on demand. If you contact him via their Facebook page he says it is quicker
that way. He is also a...

"We are the music makers and we are the weavers of dreams...."
We are the perfumistas and notice beauty via our...
Happy Birthday to Quarry!
Wearing Jour de Fete.
I have a soap that smells of lentisque, helichrysum and myrtle (the smell of Sardinia)
and I would love to smell a perfume that uses those oils with some bitter citrus in the top notes.
Theo Fennel A Scent. I had to sell this one on as the B.O. note was
Not sure I should have begun these! I have spent ages reading them - good job I
am recovering from a virus and feeling lethargic. Luca does write so well.
A lady who attends the Day Centre I work at wears Beautiful and Anais Anais, in rotation, so I
can pick those out now. Also I always seem to recognise Rive Gauche, Guerlain Vetiver, Hypnotic ...
