Mine was vintage Monsieur Musk
I was lucky to receive a sample of Feu Secret in the mail.
First wearing: Wow, this is beautiful! Pure, buttery orris root, with peppery, green and warm, slightly chocolate-y notes as accents.
clean up and bump
I prefer the oils in dropper bottles. The EdPs are "big", too much so for me. The oils stay closer.
The Rose 31 and Santal 33 in oil are very nice

Hi Grant, it is Slumberhouse Rume Limited Cask
that one, or perhaps Revillon Pour Homme
There are two or three fragrances in my wardrobe for which BN still lacks a Directory photo. I have uploaded photos of my bottle of those scents. Is there a way to make the photo of my bottle the...
except in your photo the bottle on left looks like the third edition, doesn't it? were you able to date the bottle and box using a batch code?
Narcisse is the Bruno's best, imho
For shower gels, I've tried a bunch, but am loving the Puig Agua Lavanda.
looking for a full or partial bottle
I do have a decant.
Ho Hang Club and Montana Parfum d'Homme both strike me as very complex.
I save samples and small decants that I have accumulated (and that I like) for travel. Put 3 or 4 in a zip lock. The airport bag searchers have never had a problem, and if they do, no big deal--its...
hmm, may be my first blind buy of '16
Habit Rouge EDC is a terrific special night out scent. And as someone said above, HR L'eau is excellent most days and nights.
Jaipur H is pretty good, but not at this level IMHO
Love the Eaux de Cologne. Hard to pick a favorite, but if forced:
Guerlain Eau de Guerlain
I'm sweet phobic. 'Too sweet' is a common reason why many scents don't work for me.
That said, these sweet scents are terrific and I wouldn't change them if I could:
I've never tried this one. Worth a blind buy?
are tops for me
page opening is snappy this morning!
Great feature! Will my tags show up on my wardrobe page? And if I click the "Office" tag on my wardrobe page, will it give me everything so tagged in the entire Directory, or only the 'Office'...
Hiram Green Dilettante anybody?
SOTD gives me my most worn for the last month, but not for the last two months. Too bad you can't adjust the time parameters on the Most Worn feature.
Anyway, from memory, my most worn this Summer...
Second wearing tonight. And as often happens, we "see" things the second time we missed the first. For me, the thing I missed at first and am seeing clearly now is a gentle, but clear and salty...
Wore L'Attesa for the first time last night. Wow, what a great new iris!
Understated buttery iris with a yeasty note, which is gradually but only lightly sweetened by a touch of ylang. The dry...
This time of year, its Mare for me. Made by and for people who love 'outdoors' smells. Completely unique, and like most of the rest of his marble bottle things, it wears close and long. Top...
I wore 'Five' at the office today, and 'Seyrig' going out tonight. Both bright, lively scents, with a twist.
Put those two alongside Lampblack and NdM and you have a very promising line.
I ike vetivers and green scents on rainy days.
I am delighted to have finally cornered a bottle of Narcisse des Montagnes. I flipped for it when it came out, but missed out on getting a bottle from the first batch. I've put my nose on my decant...
3 to mention.
The Jacques Zolty is gourmand-ish (cake batter) but thankfully is not too sweet. (I can't abide overly sweet fragrances). I was surprised to like it.
La Via del Profumo Don Corleone...
For cool weather, heck yeah!
I love the Directory, Wardrobe and SOTD features here on BN. Thanks Grant!
SOTD says I wore 355 different scents in 2015. Now, "wearing" is a flexible term, including quick trials and samples, as...
Just a tiny spritz of Serge L's La Myrrhe to the nape of the neck. Myrrhe+almond+orange cloud for the night out!
No 28 LaPausa
Egoiste Cologne Concentree or Slumberhouse Rume EdP.
Will wear one Christmas Eve, and one Christmas day
My least liked...
PG Entre Ciel et Mer. Didn't have the courage to try the rest of that line.
I still have a dozen or so 2015 releases on my Try List, but of the 20 or so I have tried, my top 4 are:
Slumberhouse Grev Limited Cask
Slumberhouse Rume Limited Cask
Tawaf is the best jasmine out there. Sharif, Cafe Millano and his Mysore EdT are very very good as well. Acqua Santa is a summer favorite.
Many of the scents from this house run just the other side of the too sweet limit for me.
That said, I think Iris Silver Mist and DeProfundis are genius, and Fleur de Citronnier is a summer favorite.
I found the pink peppercorn note dominant and too sweet-fruity. Maybe just me, but there it is. I have a fairly low sweet threshold. I thought my daughter might like it, but she passed.
Thanks for the report, Z
I'm a fan of Hiram Green (Moon Bloom is terrific) and am waiting on a decant of Voyage.
Sounds like this is one to grab sooner rather than later, as only 250 (?) bottles...
Agree w danieq. The two Profumum ambers are very hard to beat. And different enough from each other to justify having both in a winter wardrobe.
The Creed and the LeLabo are the way to go if you are a sweet phobe. If you can stand some sweet, but not overly much (subjective of course), the Mona Di Orio is very good. I recently tried the...
I've not had much luck with Creeds in general, but happily this is an exception. I've really enjoyed Royal Mayfair this year.
What he said
Divine L'Homme Sage
April Aromatics San Francisco Rose is pretty much just green rose and sandalwood. Very good indeed. I wrote a review of it for BN, but it disappeared into the ether. Not sure what happened to it.
Sure. 3 entries for Grev wouldn't be a big deal, if there are 3 versions (I know 2). There are 13 for Shalimar. 7 for Eau Sauvage. Etc etc. Point is, these two LC releases are flankers, whether...
Having tried both of the LC scents now, as well as the earlier EdP versions, to my nose these two are different enough from the originals as to justify separate entries in the Directory. As flankers...
Have been waiting for reviews of that one!
Slumberhouse Kiste is at the top of my Buy List, presently, and right after it is AA Precious Woods.
I've been wearing Grev LE to the office. Just love it. But now I have to try my sample of Rume LE!
My view, too. . Low projection is a plus, not a minus, for me--makes the scents more versatile; wearable in more situations.
La Pausa, mentioned above, is a Go To scent for me for daily office...
Yup. I rotate them seasonally.
Vikt extrait was the scent that pulled me into the Slumberhouse vortex. Remains my favorite of the line, even though I am crazy for several of them.
hahaha! all your good writing work for naught!
An interesting list, with lots of suggestions for things to try.
own 62 (4 are samples)
previously owned 24
How bout that, I like APLM and never made the Nivea connection!
But what about this shower gel? Must try that. What is the name of the product?
I wore it when I was 60. It was just as brilliant then as it is now.
Family and close friends, yes; otherwise, no.
From the 273 perfumes revealed so far: (show/hide)
You own 25 fragrances in the list (1 are samples)
You have previously owned 6 fragrances in the list
You have tried 52 fragrances in the...
very good, thanks!
I don't see the stats in my wardrobe. Where do they appear?
Wow, those are very surprising numbers.
I should add, I am enjoying this list. I confess I haven't tried most of the list scents, and don't feel the need to do so. But I have added 3 (so far) to...
better buy some lottery tickets
of 34 so far
Looking for a decant or part bottle. Sell or swap. PM me.
yup! Throw in R de Revillon, and you've hit the Trifecta!
Another vote for Sahara Noir
Tawaf, and Bruno Acampora's Jasmin oil are both outstanding. Both feature indolic takes on jasmine, and the Acampora pairs it with a terrific ylang-ylang.
ELDO's Jasmine et Cigarette pairs the...
My bottle of Grev arrived, and I took for a test run yesterday, a sunny Saturday. Notes below
Grev presents mint, clove, sandalwood, green leaf, suede, and a soapy touch in a rather low key...
Eau Sauvage Parfum (but adore the EdT/EdC)
Fleur du Male
Suggest you try AdV Iris Nazarena, for a creamy, gourmandish take on the note. Delicious treatment of iris!
And, not to monopolize the thread, but I am appreciating the price reduction reflected on Grev (and Rume). $120 includes shipping.
There was some blowback when SH upped the ante to $160 a few...
Thank you. As you were posting, I was ordering. No way I was going to miss a chance to finally get Grev! And now, the wait....
I asked about the concentration because I really like the way the...
The first iteration of Grev--which I missed--was an EdP if I recall. And there wasn't a marble bottle extrait version, was there? (I've been looking for Grev, without luck, for a couple of years). Is...
Profumo/Dominique Dubrana, Josh Lobb or Vero Kern
Excellent! (tents fingers)
Its a pretty solid line. My preferred are Patch Imperial, Granville, Cuir Cannage and Oud Ispahan
Thank you for your suggestions. I had thought maybe Jicky, but tried it when I got home, and...nope. But perhaps Mouchoir de Mons.? Could be, will check that. Don't know the others mentioned,...
So a fellow sits down next to me on the train, wearing a great fragrance. Naturally, I did not ask. People pretty well mind their own business on the commuter trains. But I thought you all might be...
My most worn in July was Lush Dirty, which for whatever reason is not in the Directory, despite my many attempts to add it!
No sign of Grev on the Slumberhouse web site. Anyone know a release date, or approximate?
Thirty three is excellent. Looking for to the second release from Ex Idolo
yeah, its terrific
And...Grev goes to the top of my list!
Antico Caruso is very nice indeed. Also Sartorial.
Only two bottles lately, both summer scents:
R de Revillon
O de Lancome
People come to BN all the time looking for recs. Some read the responses and move on; others stick around. Thats how I started. I'll bet most regular BNers started that way. So when I see new...
There are 3 I rely upon heavily for my sandalwood needs. Tam Dao EdP and La Via del Profumo have already been mentioned, and righty so. Excellent. I wear them both year round, office, home, you...
the first Tauerville I want to purchase. Can't wait.
