    Re: T K Maxx

Thanks, that's good to know. They also have the spray on versions of them, but I guess those are natural, too, so will probably end up the same.

    Re: T K Maxx

By the way, there seems to be a sudden appearance on ebay of the same bottles we found in TKMaxx, sometimes people have even kept the big plastic security box. So if you missed out on something,...

    Re: T K Maxx

I managed to find a bottle of Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier's Parfum d'Habit for £25 in the sales. This was a surprise and I was hoping to find something else from that brand, but no luck.
    Everything...

just a few symptoms from me:
    1. when you run out clever hiding spaces where you can put the new bottles so that your partner doesn't find them for a while and when he/she does, you can say that 'oh,...
  5. Re: Why commercial perfumery is more interesting than niche

I would agree with many of the arguments in the article, notably that there is a proliferation of niche (or pretend niche?) brand, churning out mediocre or sub-mediocre stuff at ridiculous prices,...

    Re: T K Maxx

I had another look yesterday at the local store (I'm in the North East of England). They seem to have a continuous supply of L'Artisan and Penhaligon's. I am tempted by Piment Brulant, but I can't...

    Re: T K Maxx

I bought Penhaligon's Zizonia untested for £39. As I have some of their older ones, I thought it was a relatively safe buy. It is not terrible, but had I been able to test it, I probably wouldn't...
  9. Re: Miller Harris Perfumer´s Library - thoughts?

The only places I could try these fragrances are the Miller Harris shops in London. I went last week to the one in Covent Garden for the sole reason to try this range. I must say that it was an...

Re: Chasing the past - Oriza L. Legrand

I felt extremely enthusiastic when I got my sample set and I thought that I was going to buy to or three bottles on the spot. I have had several rounds of testing since and I am a bit less certain...

Re: Easy to wear vs. Hard to Wear Houses...

that's interesting as next on my wishlist are a couple of Roja Dove perfumes... maybe i do have a thing for difficult stuff.
Amouage Jubilation XXV is probably most difficult to wear, but it is...

Re: Easy to wear vs. Hard to Wear Houses...

I agree, Serge Lutens are difficult to wear, although not all - Chergui or Borneo are fairly ok. The strength of most Amouages is a difficulty and limits when and where i can wear them. The various...
  13. Re: Internet Shopping Addiction / Fragrance Collectors

I am trying to get mine under control now after looking at the debt on three credit cards. There is no parallel in my case with any other kind of addictions (don’t smoke or drink or gamble or take...

Re: Chasing the past - Oriza L. Legrand

I posted these comments on the previous thread, but I have changed my mind a bit since then. I had about three goes at sampling them and I think I have a better idea about what’s what.
    Horizon is...

Again, the strategy seems to be style over substance. Nice packaging (or premises) is just not enough.
