anyone tried it yet ?

anyone tried it yet ?
i finally got around to testing Shanghai today & like it quite a bit. how's the longevity for you ?
YES . . . . going naked and scentless too. well, freshly bathed might be better
we want you to sell shit, not have customers wondering who the douche was that walked in trying to bowl us over with...
anything that repels carnivorous rats
reminded me of a lighter version of SpiceBomb.
Le Vainqueur by Rancé 1795 works pretty well for summer.
yep, not too bad at all
i'm finding the reverse with men's version of V. it's + - 2.5 hours in and going strong.
it isn't something i'm interested in though, the frankincense is entirely too strong on my skin.
looking forward to your review & eventhough it may be somewhat unfair .... how it compares to M.
Roja Dove's vetiver extrait believe it or not.
i've given it a couple of test sessions & it's pretty unimpressive really.
the first thing i thought of @ first spray . . . . kerosene's Creature. not as green as creature in the opening but there's...
screw the basenotes crowd - this is pretty good schtuff.
i don't make the bel ami connection though but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.
That should have been their price point from the beginning in my opinion.
interested in your further testing please sir . . . . but is it really that hard to come across as better than Juniper Sling !
if you mean cut the brown exterior covering on the flask - the answer is no, you'll still end up spraying.
PdN Cedrat Intense
Tunis Mills' smokey incense really grabs my attention - may be a little too sweet tho.
Iska has that Slumberhouse quality of being unusual, like Sana. Further testing but this is likely on the buy...
isn't it pronounced Aww Shirt !
bringing the dead back to life .... has anyone sampled Pantelleria - Passum ?
my take on it was in reverse - bought it, test drove it, THEN didn't care.
exactly what i was thinking. only difference is, Dove's extrait is done mo betta.
That doesn't sound so bad. just how intensa is the oud ?
M & Invasion Barbare from that list. Neither is ' better ' than the other, just excellently different from each other. oh yeah, they both meet the quality criteria.
I agree with mr hunter. i actually think it works better dabbed or rolled.
I'm not convinced Monkey Puddle was all that out of line.
Good summation BradW. His Santalum is one of my two favorites from his line. My skin reflects it back as a sort of woody leather.
ABSOLUTELY agree with Hep on that comment. Producing something better than Montale doesn't seem to be that hard to accomplish.
i'm agreeing with scientologist & trebor on this one.
scientologist's thought re: its similariy with IB was my first thought as well.
while it's likeable & well done, it just isn't FBW simply based...
False i'm afraid. They aren't similar in any way. you could sample Paul Smith London for the dry coconut vibe, even then it's still a good bit different from BlkOrchid.
if you want to smell old, dusty leather .... get yourself a sample of Mecheri Cuir Fauve
Couldn't have been stated better. Sometimes ' niche ' tries a little too hard, just to be different.
marketing is marketing. the advice given is correct - the only thing that matters is what YOU think.
honestly, the fact you even asked the question, after sampling it, tells me you probably won't be...
more help please !
i've sampled this one enough to know that i REALLY like it & am ready to jump on a full bottle.
problem is - it's backordered @ LS and i can't seem to find another source.
wouldn't Taste but absolutely great with a lil more chili ?
couldn't agree with that statement more, so there are now 3. but i'm willing to add that it doesn't truly work PERIOD
maybe i'm full of it & need to try again.
$ 4.99 + shipping
Yeah, that isn't a good idea with this one.
OK . . . . i need help from those who own or have sampled this.
Does anyone else consider this a close cousin to SpiceBomb ?
If anyone compliments anyone wearing spicebomb, turn & quickly walk away . . . . they have absolutely NO taste whatsoever then again, you could capture that lemming, take it home & keep it around for...
This man has the correct answer.
and it's highly SEEKED too. nah, don't need another.
in what part of the country are you located ?
It gets beat down pretty severly around here BUT, I like it a lot. I've owned it since its original release. The SA was correct, it reportedly uses two lavender variations but is not a 'floral'...
You're now a basenotes god. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_h1Nn3cylc
On the off chance you decide you wanna pick Vetiver & Danger up for a friend you din't know you had, let me know.
WOW - almost feel sorry for her. Try a colonic sweetie.
Thanks, I hadn't seen that opinion of Danger before.
Escentric Molecules' Molecule 02 is something to sample if you haven't already. It's essentially the ambrox drydown note found in GIT - to my nose - to the extent it layers well with GIT to emphasize...
anyone else sampled either of these ?
Two with him . . . . . both DH & DHI just blow
ha ha, good one. you a lil crazy Hep
straighten up & act right . . . . the nutball MAY let you back in. Service will still suck but you'll get what you want.
Has anyone ever known the packaging for the 'original' Black Orchid to be anything other than gold label on the black bottle ?
please add how generous you were with your description
completely agree on Jazz for this. Another option is Rance's Le Vainqueur
agreed, but WHY would you want your nose running & dripping anyway ?
+ it just isn't that good either
personally haven't seen anything in this thread nor have I sampled anything closer to a true leather smell than Keiko Mecheri Cuir Fauve. kind of a tough wear for me but it's leather through and...
Bamboo just doesn't work at all in my opinion. I'm gonna have to be the odd man out on Water Calligraphy however. It does not come across as femme to me. If anything I think it falls in to the Bronze...
among others, received a BIG compliment on Jil Sander Scent 79 for Men today.
no sweat, just helpin another brother
they are different, aka - different ways different days.
although I tend to reach for IB more frequently.
holy smoke, now you're metrosexual in her eyes !
dammit man, think before you let her know what you're doing.
yes, i've sampled it and in true Keiko style .... it's just strange. still trying to get my head around it trying to understand what's going on with it.
how much leather ? a good HEALTHY dose in...
for a dry raspberry note you could try Slumberhou.se sanaa
thank you knit. i discerned some note differences but wanted confirmation before crawling a seller for advertising one thing & shipping another.
possibly a dumb question, but are Black Orchid & Black Orchid Voile de Fleurs different scents ?
wouldn't replace the one i have
bronze goddess ?
I'm going with 33
having been able to sample perfume grade ambergris a couple of years ago - Harrods Salalah Green is the most realistic i've run across.
- Invasion Barbare
- Cedrat Intense
- Bronze Goddess
- Clive Christian X
- Aus Liebe zum Duft - No. 1 among a few others
while avoiding calling it Aventus, i've received rave compliments on PS London two days in a row.
i recently used Mark Birley for Men.
samples of this arrived a few days ago & i've had an opportunity to wear one of them for a couple of test sessions. it does remind me of my mental concept of a vampire . . . . heavy, needy, clingy,...
When I did my own comparison a year or so ago prior to purchasing a FB of the re-issue, i actually liked the 'new' version better than the vintage. Eventhough they are the same scent, I found slight...
+ 1 for M then add some o'keeffe washed leather brogues with whatever suits you
You may now be officially nutz, but @ least your a discerning nut
damn right it does, but it's getting sampled at minimum
Best New Fragrance for Women
• Les Nombres d'Or - Oud : Mona di Orio
Best New Fragrance for Men
• None of THOSE
Best Fragrance Flanker 2011
• The Taste of Fragrance : from that list anyway...
another DO IT. it's a real treat anytime, anywhere.
once again, mr. beck is absolutely correct. took me a few wearings to 'understand' it & it IS a winner.
i find it very similar, in development, to Harrods Oud
the two do not compare in anyway to my nose. i own both but don't consider one over the other 'cause they're different ways, different days. if you have to choose 1 Invade it.
didn't realize they were forbidding samples. that's a touch too much ego for me. past experience with the line revealed their offerings just aren't that good regardless of pricing or quality...
Balafre and Sartorial are the first to come to mind, followed by . . . . believe it or not - BlkDnm but that's more white linen.
two compliments this week on different days remarking how good CC X smelt.
which ones are you particularly interested in ?
any chance anyone has already sampled this line ?
particularly Tangeri, Canyon Dreams & Cuir Fauve.
pour homme intense
+ 1 to MdO Oud, said while waiting on Harrods Oud to arrive
i couldn't agree more mr. Chambers . . . . that's precisely how I feel about HdP Petroleum.
as for Slumberhouse, i understand the mixologist's penchant for clove but - with the exception of Sanaa -...
the hobby is a choice buddy, sounds like you just made one.
wanna join my petition to rename it shitebomb ?
EXCELLENT idea. Ms. Gardenia was a perfect starting point.
i'm thinking we need to add Laboratorio Olfattivo Cozumel to this list
[QUOTE=Brian Chambers;2482232]It's not too sweet. It's quite luxurious. But it stands apart from the vetiver--like in a different space altogether. I don't mind it when notes don't blend; it can...
