360 Red is a very nice fragrance and it gets me compliments every time I wear it . It is underrated.

Nice review Hednic. looking forward to smelling this one .
Having code of conduct and moderators is very important to keep the discussions under control. I noticed a lot of the times being in the middle of an important discussion or topic, and somebody makes...
Acqua di Parma intensa and assoluta are reasonably priced ( about 100 on fragrancenet)
Diptyque 34 st jermaine is one of my all time favorites
Parfume d' Empire Musc Tonkin
Santal Floris less...
I don't think there is a lot hate for them. They just don not get mentioned frequently , because of the last few poor releases, that lack creativity. I like polo blue, Safari and Romance. I still use...
I am going to ask the question again : What is the definition of an "original French Company" ? I am not really sure why Montale is not considered a French Company?
Sorry to say that, but this has been my experience with most of the Creed. They perform poorly. I kept blaming it on my skin, but when I hear others having problems, it confirms my findings. Most of...
Most unique out of my collection would be Portrait of A Lady. Jacomo de Jacomo comes second , as I have not smelled anything like it before.
Interesting topic . I am wondering what is the definition of " an original French company " that you mentioned in the title?
I was really impressed with their take on the Oud and leather . I am excited to try this one .
Was not aware of it .
Try Azure Lime from the Tom ford line and Bleecker street from Bond 9
From the ones mentioned , grey Vetiver .
My favorites are lumiere noire and Amyris . They both do great on longevity. Not sure about silage.
If you found Havana too sweaty on you, then the only ones I would suggest are New West and Tuscany Uomo. The other ones mentioned , 900, Devin and JHL are going to be hard to wear .
Unless I sell each one individually, I don not think I will get more than 30% of retail.
It seems to be a new brand just launched this year. The perfumer behind all their fragrances is Dominique Ropion, one of my favorites . Not really sure if anybody tried those, as they are relatively...
Excited too about this one . It will be a good summer scent.
I store them in the box. I think it does not matter whether the air pocket is on top or the side. I just get sure they are in cool place
Hermes : Terre d' Hermes . Has Vetiver but mixed with other notes.
Tom Ford : Grey Vetiver is good also
Armani Prive Babylon is good, but has poor performance IMO.
I think it is not worth it even for a collector . I bought the regular bottle. All depends on your budget :)
Positive: Chez Bond, Bleecker Street, Diptyque 34. Coromandel , invasion Barber and POAD.
Negative : Clive Christian C and leather Oud , mostly from my wife.
I have quite few . Percentage wise , I am not sure, but I tend to love Oud based fragrances .
Agree on the Bond 9 eau de. Very underrated fragrance.
I will suggest the ADP colonia and it flankers intensa and assoluta. They last all day on me . They have them at fragrance net for less than 100
It is Terre De Hernes for me and Diptyque 34
Burberry London is one of the best . It has a very nice pipe tobacco note . Also Dolce and Gabbana original formulation is a good one
Tested it from a sample and I think it is great . On my wish list fir sure. One of the best rose fragrances . Nog sure about the longevity?
I hope you like it. You can always sell it if you don't like it. I have it and I think it is a nice fragrance . Keep us updated.
Thank you for the info and the research.
Thank you for reporting back. Very interesting results . Not surprised about MR , as I agree with your friends opinion about the opening and the dry down. Sad to hear POAL described to be old lady...
The rate of blind buying for me has decreased significantly , due to frequent testing/ sampling . Meaning I buy more after testing . With that being said, I find my blind buys better these days than...
Sorry for the loss. Hope they find them for you.
Oud is one of my favorite notes, and I could care less where it came from . I think the association is more related to the high rate of consumption of Oud in the Middle East , since the older days....
Portrait of a Lady 10/10 masterpiece
Musc Ravaguer is ok . I always have mixed feelings about it 6/10
Noir Epices 3/10
Carnal Flower 9/10
YSL M 7
Michael by Michael Kors ( original formulation)
Jacomo De Jacomo
The one subtle fragrance that I have been enjoying lately is Jo Malone Geranium and Verbana. I usually don not buy from this line because of the poor longevity and silage , but I could not resist...
Acqua di Parma Oud .
POAL is my all time favorite . I am excited to see what your friends think of it. Also excited to see what they think of Musc Ravaguer
Both . If it is available at a discount store I will buy it, if not , from a retailer
Don't recommend a blind buy for this one. I still have the sample of the Silk and Jasmine . I applied it 2 hours ago after applying some Aveeno non scented moistturizer , and it was gone in 30...
Great post. Surprised though GIT did not win in any category , although from the ones you had them test, it is probably the most mainstream.
They have them in some of the Nordstrom 's . I bought the Velvet and Amber and it was a big failure in performance . You smell nothing after one hour . The SA gave me samples of the other ones (...
I tried to narrow my collection once , but failed big time. It is hard for me to give away or sell my fragrances . I am still above 300 . I keep adding .
Sandal Floris . I like this fragrance , but it is subtle and lacks longevity IMO.
POAL and most of the other ones I own.
Musc Tonkin is a great one. Not very dirty and more musc/ floral . It is a great scent. and my wife loves it.
I agree with you . The Havana re issue from the Gentleman Collection is very close to the older formulation as well as the newer New West . YSL reissued M7 and Rive Gauche in what they called La...
So many great fragrances were discontinued by the house since she took over in 2006 . Not really sure if it was her, or the house was heading that way no matter what? I am sure Gucci Guilty, it...
I think the high doses of oakmoss, lavender, leather and civet ( and other animalic notes) is what combines some of those powerhouses. All those notes causes huge silage and oakmoss adds to the...
Kouros and Cool Water are unique ones, but none of his creations are high on my list .
I forgot to apply a fragrance handful of times in the last 10 yrs , and I felt weird .
I second Daime Blond by SL
The only one in my collection I can think of is Grey Flannel . On the other hand I have a lot of fragrances that I don't personally use , so I use it as air freshener ( too many to count) .
I own the one with the metal in front . The smell is great but longevity is poor . If the reformulation is true, then it is a disaster , as the original last only 1-2 hours on me . I also own the...
Fahrenheit for me for the complexity. Not a big fan of vanilla-based fragrances ( Fahrenheit 32)
It is really hard to tell if a fragrance got reformulated depending on our noses . Most of us collects and have a large number of bottles. By the time I finish a bottle ( rarely happens) and buy a...
Terre D Hermes good vetiver based fragrance . Order from Fragrancenet or lillydirect for way less than 100
Bleecker Street By Bond 9 . Excellent unique and outstanding longevity. Again you can find...
It was Jacomo de Jacomo
I was surprised to see it the other day in the men's section at Sephora. It looks like it is marketed as unisex now. It was not for me as I tend to dislike Cacao in fragrances
Welcome to basenotes . It is a fun ride.
Another vote for Creed Virigin Island Water
Pass for me too . The Vanilla Gourmand type of fragrances are my least favorite .
I regret few , but for some reason I don't sell any .
My favorite from the line are Chez Bond and Bleecker Street . They are the most wearable . The SOPH is great too ( fruiter and better performer than Aventus IMHO)
New York Amber and New York Oud...
My wife complained few time lately , especially after I crossed the 300+ bottles line. I should have never told her the number of bottles , as she never complained before . She thinks it is becoming...
Great house , but not the best IMHO. I own four of them and they are great scents and wearable is the best word to describe them . I get frustrated though with the performance, especially longevity,...
I like the staging mentioned by busy blind . It is a general guideline but some people deviate from it and might skip a stage , but for the most part it is accurate . I am probably at the end of...
I think they are the same . It is not a good business strategy to have people smell something and sell them something different. There might be differences but not intentional , but due to handling...
I buy what I like . It just happened to be niche most of the times recently.
34 st Germaine by Diptyque
I think it was sales mostly . This house is well known for that . It is hard to believe it was expensive to make as those calculation are already made ahead of time before they release it ,
It is a hard question to answer as I prefer more woody fragrances and I know most females prefer aquatic floral scents on guys . I would answer with what my wife would answer: Clive Christian 1 and...
Petrolium by HDP is another one . I have it and I rarely use it. I guess I don't want to smell like fuel all the time.
Both are masculine enough. Of the two I prefer POAL in every aspect . The incense in POAL makes it way more musculine than NDN. Both are excellent
All in their boxes
Armani Bois d' Encens
Niche houses making bottles smaller, packaging larger, and charging more for fragrances blaming it on IFRA.
Dior releasing another flanker to Dior Homme and making a new edition to the Dior Sport...
Tom Ford Bois Marocain . He is well- known to discontinue what does not sell. It is one of my favorites from his private blend though
Too much marketing set up expectations very high. I hope it will make everybody smile . They make it sound as if it will replace Paxil and Prozac .
Noir de Noir and Oud Wood
Like Oud and it is one of my favorite notes.
When your wife tells you : We need to talk about this. You need to check in yourself to rehab?
Portrait of A Lady . My all time favorite followed by Dan Tes Bras
I collect watches , I have about 30 ( mostly Tags, RW, Movado, Rado and Tissot) . My wife will not let me buy more than that:(
Ties as I need to wear them daily , at least 150.
Used to collect...
The mixture of Oud with citrus notes is very unusual and makes it very difficult to tell in this composition . I think it is very hard to tell the origin of it.
While I think age is a very important factor that affects our choices in fragrances , it is one of many other factors . Displaying it is an option already ,but are we going to be asked to display...
Derby is one my favorites from the house as well as heritage depending on how much you are willing to spend . Homme intense and l' Eau Boisee are also excellent
Sounds interesting . I enjoyed the Essenza more than the original . Hope this one turns out good
Depends on how much you are spending on the gift but Penhaligon's Sartorial is a good choice .
Duke Hunt : thank you for the info about Old Spice . Really surprised it has that many notes for an...
I have it and I haven't used it for a year . I blind bought it . There are better vetivers out there . Very dry one and does not develop , so it was boring for me .
I have 12 out of the 16 . All nice choices. I would add GIT and Spicebomb as they are popular here.
I want incense, but I think it will be Amber .
Leather Oud by Christian Dior
I still use Brut and old spice . I still enjoy them . I agree that the longevity is not great , but I am happy getting one hour out of them
I agree that the perecentage is very low, but not as low as we think, as the trend these days to wear fragrances that smell nothing and with no projection or silage .
Not cheap. I did the same when I bought my pure Oud by Kilian
I doubt that most of those have more than the name . Most are re formulated and have little to do with the originals?
I really think reformulations are driven by profit, trying to use cheaper ingredients and appeal to larger mass ( sales) .
