Dunno about a cheap Santal alternative. You will not find it in Vétyver. I have both.
That's a bargain! While it's my least favourite Eau Sauvage flanker, and because of that I don't own a bottle, I would buy it at that price.
Dior's Eau Sauvage EDT, Jo Malone's Lime, Basil & Mandarin.
I never wear something to please other people. I only wear it to please myself. If someone else likes it too then that's great. If not, well... you get the picture.
I have two bottles of Eau Sauvage 100% Glacon, and a "brown boxed" Eau Sauvage, both of these still contain oakmoss. Longevity on me however isn't better than current Eau Sauvage which I also have....
That's because the Champs Elysees is a tourist trap: http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-24491494 But I admit to having gone there myself last year...
It will disappear, celebrity scents are usually discontinued pretty fast (to make room for another scent) compared to the usual designer stuff.
Mugler Cologne. As an alternative: Jo Malone's Lime Basil & Mandarin.
Yes, and while you are at it, give my regards to Mrs. Robinson.
Eau Sauvage Parfum falls into this category too.
How 'bout Eau Sauvage?
In French film "Un éléphant ça trompe énormément" (1976) Jean Rochefort has a huge bottle of Monsieur de Givenchy.
None of my seven different Eau Sauvage bottles has a sticker on the bottom. There's the batch number and a number moulded in the glass.
It sure is very good stuff. I bought a 200ml bottle last year when I finished my 100ml bottle. The 2001 limited edition ES 100% Glacon (AKA 100% Cooling Effect) smells like the good old ES stuff with...
That's a fougère.
For a classic chypre look no further: Eau Sauvage. Especially the older oakmoss containing versions are great.
I'll go with one of my Eau Sauvages.
The fans of ESE say the current formulation is worse than the one preceding it. Yours could be the older, good stuff.
ESE experts, feel free to chime in.
Probably not the best idea to break the seal. I'd say it is worth more with seal intact.
Jil Sander's Feeling Man turns from purple too green.
Funny you should mention Mitsouko, Jack. I asked to smell Mitsouko two weeks ago at the Guerlain counter at a local chain store (after having smelled the The Les Parisiens collection). No problems...
A bar of Eau Sauvage soap.
The most popular because of the sheer number of bottles sold or because it accomplished this feat in only five years? On a side note, Eau Sauvage apparently sold over 80 million times.
Mugler Cologne. DHC feels flat and bare and quite boring after its sparkling opening notes.
That's the new version. Saw it in France last year, ~80 euros for a 100ml bottle @ Nocibe and Marionnaud. Indeed, from another era. This stuff puts hair on your chest. Not quite my cup of tea.
Pret-a-offrir in this case means ready to be given as a gift. In other words, fancy packaging. I wouldn't mind getting this as a gift.
+1 Of the 7 samples (No.89, Elite, Cefiro, Limes, JF, Santal, Mahon Leather) I received I think Mahon Leather is very nice, so does the missus. However the one that really floats my boat is Santal....
Current Eau Sauvage is indeed a perfectly unisex scent, older versions with the prominent oak moss note IMO less so.
And the 100% Glacon flanker too.
If it's a really old bottle the ingredients aren't even listed...
End of January 2014.
Talk about a bit of a faux-pas here... It should have been made available in december with the marketing starting in november.
Interesting. But I do wonder why. There's the normal Dior Homme, the heavy hitter Dior Homme Intense, the fresh Dior Homme Sport and the light weight Dior Homme Cologne. Flanker-wise Dior has all its...
Current Eau Sauvage is missing the wee bit stuffy note (but I like it) what I guess to be oakmoss that's somehow still in PM. Compare PM with older Eau Sauvage and the similarities are greater. If...

I have all but ES Extreme, it just doesn't do it for me. Would love to take a whiff of the 1984 version just to know how it smells.
Nice opening notes with sweet drydown. Too sweet for me. Pass.
Lovely stuff but too expensive for me. I can buy 400 ml of Eau Sauvage for the price of one 100 ml bottle of this stuff...
If you like Yatagan you should give Dior's Jules a try. Jules however is very difficult to get outside of France though, hence eBay prices are astronomical.
Buy them now before they reformulate the lot and turn them into mere shadows of the originals... :cheesy:
It's a nice fragrance IMO, dark woody leathery. Discontinued but luckily the price for a bottle is very low atm so it offers good value for money. I bought mine cheap too, i wouldn't want to pay full...
Errm no, a dummy or as they're also known as a factice doesn't contain any fragrance, usually just colored liquid (water? alcohol perhaps? Dunno.). For display purposes a factice is almost always a...
Nice bunch. Current Eau Sauvage comes in a textured white box with silver band, bottles now have a heavy magnetic cap. Older bottles came in brown marbled (or perhaps more correct, wood veneer style...
This and I found a really good deal on two 200ml bottles of Eau Sauvage 100% Glaçon last year. I now have three 200ml bottles of Eau Sauvage.
And in many cases the glass bottle is more expensive than its contents...
My router runs a piece of ad-block software. No pesky ads on any device/PC on my network.
Not just safe, it's elegant too.
DHS 2008 both sprayer and cap have CD logo.
I smelled it on paper. Quite nice IMO. May buy it this summer. Don't get an Issey (=bonedry and bitter) likeness though FWIW.
A 200 ml bottle of vintage Eau Sauvage. Believe everything good they say about it.
It's the new type of bottle they're putting some of their scents in. Quite a stylish bottle IMO.
Word has it the older tin cans are still easy to get.
OMG. Terre D'Hermes SPORT? Is this for real? Really? Or a really good fake?
First clue it being fake: SPORT on the...
Definitely Marc (Robes08). Definitely.
Oh and Katie. Because Katie has got both: beauty, brains and a good sense of humor.
Uh-oh that's three. Ah well, never mind, you get the point.
Animalic? No! Indolic? Yes!
I now have an older bottle of ES and must say I like it a lot. The oakmoss gives it substance, a backbone if you will. Some people will find it smells dated. The current ES lacks some backbone IMO...

A lovely fragrance IMO, I like it very much. I would buy a bottle if it wasn't for the price, €160 for a 100 ml bottle is too steep for my wallet. They made a bad decision to make this one an...
I've got Artisan. Lovely orange citrus fruit scent with some ginger. That's all I smell, I detect no basenotes. On me it's gone in 4 to 5 hours and I get the urge to reapply every 2 hours. Twelve...

It sure is. Very elegant stuff, a real gem IMO and a worthy addition to an Eau Sauvage collection.
I bought (eBay) a new in its foil wrap vintage 200 ml bottle of Eau Sauvage, it arrived today. It comes in a brown marbled box with a 1H01 batch code and as ingredients only lists: alcohol, water and...
A 200ml vintage bottle of Eau Sauvage in a brown marbled box.
Mugler Cologne, since John Varvatos' Artisan is a bit of disappointment (there are hardly any basenotes in it, according to my nose it is just the absolutely lovely citrus top notes and some ginger).
+1 longevity is almost non-existant. Twelve sprays in the morning (yes!), and it's virtually gone at noon. It smells great, so I respray and get to enjoy the beautiful opening again. This should be...
John Varvatos Artisan, lacks longevity but smells great. Just respray when it runs out of steam.
It's not a bug, it's a feature.
Yatagan, why be dull?
Here's more: http://bonkersaboutperfume.blogspot.nl/2012/09/g-bellini-x-bolt-lidl-scores-another.html
I bought two 200 ml bottles of Eau Sauvage 100% Glacon from 2001 recently, they are at least 11 years old. They still smell great. Twelve years shouldn't be problem if stored under normal...
EDT and plenty more: http://www.drogisterij.net/blue_stratos
Marc Jacobs' Bang.
Very nice stuff indeed, I have a sample that is nearly empty. Only thing keeping me from buying it is its price, 160 euros for 100 ml, too steep for me.
Not that I know of, but with manufacturers being fickle as they are, it wouldn't surprise me if it is discontinued within two years.
I dropped a sample vial of Aventus once, the contents all over the floor. My wife and daughter didn't say a word about smelling something. Nothing at all. Go figure.
I bought the last 200 ml bottle Eau Sauvage 100% Glacon available too... So now I own these:
BTW, I just discovered that the frosting of the 100% Glacon is a thin film applied to the...

Two 200 ml bottles of Eau Sauvage 100% Glacon for 110 euros. Found them in a Portugese webshop, none left though.
According to Luca Turin in 2011: "The entire heart has fallen out of this fragrance". I don't know if this due to the lack of oakmoss.
Eau Sauvage, versatility since 1966.
For me it is a perfect cool(er) weather scent. It's very potent stuff, don't go apeshit on the atomiser. One or two sprays will suffice for me. Dior should have given this its own name instead of...
IMO Eau Sauvage (incl. 100% Glacon), Jo Malone's Lime, Basil & Mandarin, AdP Colonia Intensa and Dior Homme Sport are all very nice. If you want lemon then look into Monsieur Balmain.
any leftovers at that price still available?
Two brand new bottles of 2001 made Eau Sauvage 100% Glacon, both in 6.7oz size.

Yup, opens with a blast of menthol & citrus and then dries down to good old Eau Sauvage as we know it.

I bought the last 200 ml bottle available too... Couldn't resist it...
Eau Sauvage 100% Glaçon, released in 2001 as a limited edition summer scent. Never seen this one in the flesh before I laid my hands on this 6.7oz/200ml bottle. Very difficult to find in shops,...
Ah well, I took the plunge and ordered a bottle. Ordered december 4th, it arrived here december 9th. Alas I wasn't home, picked it up at the post office today. It arrived in excellent condition, well...
It's here! I picked up my 200 ml (6.7oz) bottle of EAU SAUVAGE 100% GLAÇON at the post office today. For only...
Stock up while supply lasts. My bottle is gonna last me a long time as I don't wear it very often and if I do I use a maximum of two sprays.
