    Re: Your favourite 1980's fragrance?

My hatred for Drakkar stems not from its scent but because two girlfriends I had tried to get me to wear it because they liked it on earlier boyfriends.

    Re: Boozy Scents

With the Bay Rum article on the home page, this thread might be a good place to post a link (for US posters) to 2oz of Bay Rum for a penny (plus five bucks shipping) [thru March '09].

    I ordered it...

Re: Say it ain't so! Habit Rouge SPORT???

It would seem that the timeline would be more than a few months from conception to market. But as I said, I don't know.

This 'feels' to me like kind of a companion frag with Homme, as though they...

Re: Say it ain't so! Habit Rouge SPORT???

Forgive my ignorance of frag product life cycles. I would assume HR Sport was conceived before Homme came to market, but I wonder if it might have hit the drawing board after. In other words how...
  5. Re: Trying a scent at a store, then buying online: any guilt?

If one can cultivate a relationship like Jaime has with his Guerlain SA, it's probably worth it to cough up retail.

But no, I sniffed Terre d'Hermes at Nordstrom and bought it online for half...

    Re: Guerlain Vetiver pour homme

    Love it.

Reminds me of working in my grandfather's hay fields- without the smell of the dirty alcoholic hired hand next to me.

Not one mention of Creed's Cuir de Russie? Spoiled me for any other leather.

Re: The Other Side (a SA's point of view)

    Mekanic,

I worked in retail commission sales for ten years (camera and video). I feel you.

Some constructive criticism if I may: When you open with "Are you..." you are inviting a yes or no...

    Re: Recommendation for odour-free deo-stick?

Indeed they are both alum... usually potassium alum. Sometimes the crystal deodorants have an aloe component to them to keep then from being so drying with daily use.

    Crystal my recommendation as...

Re: Post eBay Fragrance Seller Feedback here!

Thanks for the post. That seller has lots of listings and I have been tempted on a couple. Now I'll pass.

Re: Grey Flannel is cheap...Smells cheap?

Marshall's just about always has it in my area. I originally bought a bottle of Eau de Grey Flannel not paying close enough attention. Got the original later and I like them both.

    Re: My Life in fragrance

I'm 44, wearing Bvlgari Black as I write which can be cheaply had and (to me) is pretty much what you describe here. Well, maybe not musky. Or warm. Definitely dark, woody, and faintly sweet.

I saw Code at my Walmart today. Think it was 1.7 $24.99, could be wrong, I was in a hurry.

Re: Guerlain Vetiver Formulation Test Thread.

This thread makes me feel better.

I've read enough 'the new Guerlain Vetiver isn't nearly as good as the older stuff' comments that I'd decided I was better off having never smelled the older...

Re: Orange is Safer than Lemon?

One could probably find what one is looking for.

I love Terre d' Hermes, but I notice in the reviews the negatives savage the 'rotten orange' smell.

    Re: xeyrus by givenchy

I bought a bottle in the early 90's in an after Christmas sale. It was packaged with a large wooden Nutcracker figure; I figured if the juice was no good I'd at least have the figure.

    Turned out I...
