Damn you for making me choose between Aventus and Tuscan Leather.
Pure Havane. I'm wearing Pure Malt today and haven't decided whether it's bottle-worthy or not, it's certainly nice. Mugler Cologne is on the try list.
I have a decant of Creed Windsor that I rarely wear. I'd certainly break it out for this occasion.
Unless she wanted me to wear something else :coolold:
None of the above? :rolleyesold:
Aventus here as well - NdN just isn't versatile even if it smells nice.
Creed - Windsor (2010)
Leonard Pour Homme
Gucci PH II
Diptyque L'Eau de Tarocco
Chanel Pour Monsieur
GF Trumper Wild Fern
Thank you, so far I am impressed!
Looking forward to trying this one tomorrow!
Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche
Received from the HauteLook Diptyque sale: Tam Dao EdT and L'Eau de Tarocco.
Bleu de Chanel
AdP Mirto di Panarea
Creed Selection Verte
Rive Gauche PH
MpG Santal Noble
Boucheron Jaipur Homme EdP
I wore it today - it's 'in the same vibe' as OS but not the same. I do like it though, it's good if you want to smell 'clean' that day.
Bogart PH. Six sprays should do the trick.
I prefer the EDT as well. Really well-constructed scent, probably my favorite Diptyque.
Rochas Man is good and inexpensive. Maybe more like a nice cappucino?
L'Occitane Eau des 4 Voleurs
L'Occitane Eau des 4 Voleurs is magnificent.
Lalique Equus is pretty nice.
HauteLook.com is having a sale on some Diptyque frags.
$60 for 100ml of Tam Dao? Yes please here's my money.
Also did a blind buy of L'Eau De Tarocco because I do enjoy the smell of blood...
By sheer coincidence, I'm wearing it today (from a sample.) That first 30 minutes is quite a ride indeed!
From a sample:
And unless this is the selling forum, it doesn't seem like the place to advertise a product at all.
Gucci PH 1
Parfums de Nicolai, maybe?
There's a few of these threads going on today, so why not a battle of the spicy-woody-orientals?
Depending upon how deliberations go - Almost Innocent by Vive Maria.
Guerlain - Habit Rouge EdP
Pure Havane by a mile, it's a better scent and much more versatile. DHI's lipstick note is a turnoff IMHO.
Great choice - you may want to try the Habit Rouge in EdP sometime, I have the 'red leather bottle' version and it is excellent.
Do you mean Chanel Pour Monsieur or the Concentree?
I haven't smelled a woman layering TL with Aventus yet! I never thought of TL as unisex but why not...
That Eau Sauvage was a steal.
For me - took advantage of Fragrancenet's 21% coupon and 12% ebates cashback to pull the trigger on Jaipur EdP and Mont Blanc Individuel (blind buy.) I came close to...
Thanks, I may try that (or spraying my shirt as suggested.) And I thought it was layering Aventus with Tuscan Leather?
Pretty much this. I can live without everything else.
Or at least not very much.
I'll apply my fragrance and meet my SO, who needs to sniff my wrist to know if I am wearing anything. There's only one person at work who even mentions what I'm...
Tom Ford Tuscan Leather
Demeter Rain, what else?
Just from searching ebay for "tommy bahama mens cologne" and clicking on "sold listings":
People can list it for any price they want, if it isn't selling none of that matters. Look at the sold listings, 3.4oz testers sell for $35-$50.
Trust me if it was "selling for $200" I'd put up...
I'm going to counter the idea that prices will skyrocket.
Fragrances are trendy. Tastes change over time. Aventus would have been a flop in the '80s when power frags reined supreme. In ten years...
A*Men Pure Malt
I was a bit disappointed with the longevity, but I wonder if I just need to figure out how many spritzes from a sampler = spritzes from an actual bottle. What's the accepted ratio?
Serge Lutens Chergui from a decant. My first wear, awesome so far.
I know this is yesterday's thread... but Chanel Allure Homme Sport, and got a compliment on it!
Tauer L'Air du desert marocain
from a decant
A few decants.:embarassed:
A*Men Pure Malt
Chanel Allure Homme/AHS/AH Edition Blanche
Tauer L'Air du Desert Marocain
Speick is nice - it smells a bit like lavender FYI, but fades quickly.
Nivea Sensitive balm is widely available and inexpensive.
Lucido is a Japanese splash that contains menthol...
I think you are reading too much into the use of fragrances for people to express themselves.
As a counterpoint, powerhouse frags were around well before the '80s... Aramis came out in '65....
From a sample: Lorenzo Villoresi Patchouli.
Hermes Bel Ami vintage from a decant
Lavender, in anything more than very low amounts.
Powder. PdN New York was all but unwearable for me, I still have no idea which note it was.
Lemon unless tempered by something.
I was thinking Italian sausage. Sweets though since it doesn't have a hot pepper note.
I'm feeling a bit like when I tried GPH II, I didn't expect to like tea.
(Black pepper and tea could be an...
And I'll take that Fille en Aiguilles off your hands :)
I only applied it an hour ago, so I'm still in the top notes, but it's got this black pepper thing going on that I wasn't sure I'd like (after sampling L'Occitan a few years ago.) And is that anise...
From a sample. Wow, what an opening, I've never worn anything quite like this.
Sorry, when I started the '90s thread I didn't mean the best frags came from that time period.
Just take a look at my wardrobe if you don't believe me. I don't always log my SOTD there, but the...
You may want to ask someone if they can smell it. Also there is the possibility that it wasn't stored very well (exposed to heat and light) which would degrade the juice.
+1 for Rive Gauche and Egoiste.
"Egoiste is an old man's scent, here sample some Bleu instead."
She wasn't even young and cute.
Since there is an '80s thread - what where the best fragrances introduced in the '90s?
Seems like a contest between:
- Chanel Egoiste
- Guerlain Heritage
- Boucheron Jaipur
(yes I like...
MpG Santal Noble for sandalwood fans.
Also Green Irish Tweed was introduced in the '80s, this may be the winner due to its popularity.
Funny, I really get rosewood with Egoiste, but not the Sandalo. (Not that I am complaining, Egoiste is fantastic.)
I just bought a bunch of decants, not sure whether I should wait until they get...
Wearing it now thanks to getting a small decant - this is nice so far! No idea whether it is bottle worthy or not. Seems like it'd do better in warm weather?
Chanel Pour Monsieur
from a decant
So far I'm really enjoying the Sandalo. Caveat here: I've never had the honor of trying old fragrances with real mysore, nor do I own any sandalwood oil; I do own some of the Mysore sandalwood soap...
Lorenzo Villoresi - Sandalo
Thanks for the L'Air du Desert Marocain, Francolino!
