Noire de noire by Tom Ford
I have heard the n83 longevity is bad, but I really like the smell. It is a little more interesting.
I am doing a side by side now on skin. PH is a little fuller, and more gourmand, but yeah...they are really close.
So far performance on Wild is great how is it on other people's skin? Clothes?
I got Insurrection Wild in the mail today, I don't think I could have told them apart if somebody blindfold tested me.
I'm incredibly happy with it!
Hello, what are some long lasting Lacoste fragrances. Any in the 8-10+ hours range? I am thinking about exploring their line for my spring rotation.
Isn't Docelesir the one that smells like Amber Narguile?
I blind bought it, if it isn't really close I'm open to something unique.
I have never seen it happen in 10 years outside of the sales forum.
Only two notes are listed: I wonder if that is just marketing?
He makes a "Windex Intense" joke that is pretty funny, in context.
I'll try that tonight with a full application.
Thanks. Maybe it is simply olfactory fatigue.
I wish there was a way to test.
Since this is so subjective, it is really hard to suggest a fragrance, which is incredibly abstract to begin with.
I really like the smell; it is in the same ballpark as CK One Shock and Liz Claiborne Spark.
However, I am not happy with the longevity—My previous Joops!, Homme and Jump, last literally 24 hours...
Well...it just makes me less inclined to use FragranceNet, in this case.
I somehow remember getting a $135 4.0oz GIT bottle from them and I think I did it by stacking their default discount code with one of the ones they send shipped with their purchases.
What are the qualities of the 15R11 batch? I want a smokier one.

for the 4.0oz?
For what it's worth, I have gotten countless legit fragrances on eBay. You just have to have good intuition about what is safe to buy.
Sellers with thousands and thousands of sales with 99 percent...
I doubt it was fake, it costs money to make counterfeits and the fakers are going to get the most bang for their buck. Faking a mini bottle of a relatively esoteric fragrance doesn't seem like their...
So I got Intense and Boisee decants in the mail. My initial impressions are very high—I almost knee jerk bought a bottle of Intense because I liked it so much at first spray.
Boisee seems like a...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Polo Red Intense is a One Million Clone.
I have his first "guide," is it worth it to by the slightly newer amended one? Is there a recent one that is very comprehensive of recent fragrances?
There should be a video on dealing with S.A.s like the ones about bad Petco stores.
I ordered some samples. I may have to scoop these up; I have only heard great things, I wonder why there aren't more popular or talked about.
Or are you going to get the latest formulation regardless?
How is performance? Age range? I might grab a decant.
I'm sampling Boisee version. Would one make the other unnecessary?
It is like a very high quality AF Fierce to me.
I smelled the original way back and found it rather unique.
I don't get the civet I hoped for either; as described above it is either not there or faint. It is a lot different than I imagined in my mind's nose, and it is definitely...
(Art grad) Bravo, sir.
I disagree, and kind agree with the Fragrance Bros. channel—the logical progression isn't necessarily into niche. Many designers are superior to niche in overall smell, performance, creativity etc.
Guerlain - Guerlain Homme L'eau Boise
Glenn Perri - Unpredictable Adventure (similar to Aventus, but I actually like it better, or at least more than the fruity batch I own)
YSL - Live Jazz...
How did you come across it? I bought it because I was sick of fragrances with poor longevity on my skin.
Did you know immediately this was "the one": It made me feel "more...
I don't the grandpa vibe either. I'm sproutly and just under 30, and could easily pull this off as a work signature scent.
The tobacco is nice, and unique in that it isn't like flavored pipe...
This stuff doesn't smell dated to me; it smells very sleek, classy, soapy, fresh and clean. I do not get the old man vibe at all.
The decant I have is from, I think, the vertical skinny bottle,...
Is it similar to an Aventus pineapple?
I hear this smells like a mix of eternity and cool water, I am a fan of Joop Jump and am considering this one.
Anyone care to weigh in? I can't find a sample of decant of it anywhere.
Edited below. I got confused.
CH Men Prive
Paco Rabanne Black XS
^^All good for clubbing.
There are lots of fragrances people talk plenty about....and smell subpar.
Interesting, why Himalaya?
I don't need to know it. Unless it was meant as a sarcastic quip ...then *eyeroll, you're cool.
I meant to invoke some kind of intra-interactive multi-response thread to get me "pre-gamed" for it....
I hear this stuff is pretty off putting in a polarizing way.
It has a civet base, which I am normally a fan of.
Really? They seem miles apart to my nose. BdC, that is.
Is the tonka the bright note?
So, I just got my sample in the mail of this; immediately it reminded me of Mont Blanc Emblem with a very "bright" sweet note. Is that tonka bean? Can anyone comment on what the shared note is?
There are a lot of criticisms that could be thrown his (Babb's) way, and I'm not his biggest fan—he kind of makes me uncomfortable— but to his credit he did lead me to Remy Latour's Black Oud, which...
Any women want to suggest for:
I wanted to give out some Hermessence fragrances to characters, but I couldn't think of any, and I have not actually smelled them ...so it would just be abstract olfactory conjecture.
Han Solo (young and old): Quorum
Obi-Wan Kenobi (Old): Grey Flannel
Obi-Wan Kenobi (Young): GIT
Qui-Gon Jinn: VanCleef & Arpels pour homme
Yoda: Guerlain - Vetiver
Interesting. I am looking for fragrances that hit the 10+ hour mark at least. I'm really big on longevity, I guess you could say.
What is the difference between diffusive and retentative effects of a fixative?
What are the "trace amounts" the articles talk about?
What are Javanol and Vertofix?
Yeah I think you nailed some of his points.
He does come across classless.
I actually like point #4. The longer I have been in this hobby the more I realize just how many synthetic aromatic compounds are used in even the most expensive fragrances. IFRA has made hard to use...
I just check it out. I like the bottle; it reminds me of a cross between Montale and Polo Sport.
Does it smell comparable to anything?
Yes, please watch the video. My notes were just meant to be like an appetizer.
I just got my Amara sample in the mail today. I really like it, It reminds me of another summer fragrances, but I cannot remember what. I get my regular Aqua sample later in the week and I can't wait...
Thanks, this is a great response to my question!
This one is a winner, however, it may be too strong for really hot weather. It is also on the more expensive end of the designer spectrum; expect to pay at least 70.00 USD equivalent for it and thats...
Not really, in the "hip circles", but in the grand scheme of perfumery I would say it is. The most popular fragrances right now are One Million-esque ones.
Merry Christmas/Happy Advent!
Here are the articles:
Cliff note versions of his points below, (please watch the video because I'm going to butcher his points.)
#2. There is...
TdH is less versatile than Sauvage.
Gentleman Only Intense lasts only 30 minutes.
Sauvage is the best answer, pragmatically.
Rive Gauche is an incredibly modern take on a classic genre.
Is that the one that smells like Monsieur Givenchy Blue Bottle? Was is Dunhill Black or Dunhill Desire Black?
I got mine in late 2009 (La Nuit) is that the reformulated one? It has gotten me one of only a few "too strong" "too much coligne guy" reactions from others in my experience.
La Nuit is notorious for being pretty strong and performing well.
How long do they last?
Heh, I was about to post the exact same thing. Yeah, those bottles (especially Cambridge Knight and Knotting Hill) may be my favorite in all of perfumery.
I like their packaging so much that I have been inspired to research the brand.
I just love these bottles:
I have heard it smells very similar to something, but I forgot what.
I want to add M7 Oud Absolut.
Will the zip lock bags slow the rate of evaporation? Does it even matter?
Body Kouros, maybe.
It is my favorite YSL, as well. I think you will find La Nuit and BdC a lot less daring than Kouros, but they are very solid high quality, compliment getting crowd pleasers.
Both have good longevity--in the excellent range of not more--but La Nuit projects much more where F Black stays close to the skin.
I will echo that F shares a lot of Allure Homme similarities.
I got a really nice compliment last night on it, (CDNIM). Another remarkable thing I'm noticing, too, about it is that it actually smells like it has ambergris in it.
That isn't entirely true. Issey Miyakes and Nautical Voyage are beastly aquatics.
Thanks, I read reviews that have the longevity all over the please—from nuclear all day length to just a few hours. It is confusing, it does smell like something that would last, though.
Emblem Intense and then maybe Shades Wood at Midnight Mass.
There should be a way to code this into the website to add how many sprays you did.
I am thinking about getting them for this spring/summer. I am a stickler for longevity, though..I want something that lasts 8 hours or so. I remember smelling this on a friend long after he applied...
I think I took this guy's comment and extrapolated it:
"You don't need twice as many sprays with CdNi, I'm fine with 2 sprays on the chest and maybe one spray to my neck and I'm good for...
Really? I heard the longevity is great, and people are getting compliments 6+ hours into CDNIM. I am bad at judging longevity, myself, since I get olfactory fatigue relatively quickly. Most of the...
So I finally got my Aventus sample vial in the mail today and I can compare my clones to Aventus.
CDNIM smells incredibly similar, so much so that I almost have to doubt the legitimacy of my...
Since it usually takes a very long time for me to empty a bottle, the answer is.......old.
ESP is on a different tier than its price indicates.
I just got the Intense version in the mail today (I gambled and blind bought it).
Initially, I'm incredibly pleased and it smells like a better version of the original with more depth. I am...
Funny you would make that comment, I made a post specifically asking people to compare the two in another thread. I like it more than Meharees.
Thanks, I wish Fragrantica, or even BN reviews had a visual sliding scale for femininity/masculinity.
