CREED Fleur de Bulgare
two different planets.
certainly didn't mean to put words in your mouth, my man. just chewin the fat...
and i most certainly do not believe that terrorists hate us for our freedom. they hate us because we wear blue...
none taken, and i largely agree with you. just arguing a broader criticism of the fragrance, not necessarily made by you.
BTW - silly question, but have tried simply applying less? I find it...
i noted this too when it first came out. it definitely isn't something that you would sit and smell your wrist and marvel at the changes in top-mid-base notes.
it is a fragrance purposely...
if I have CREED Orange Spice, do I need to get Kouros?
good lord dude...
oooooooooooooohhhh!!!!!! okay, that makes sense now. thanks.
no fuss. i bought it and returned it from Nordstrom's it was so vile. great for 20-year old frat boys trying to get laid by over-wearing sweet, boyish frags, but it's of no use to MEN.
oh my bad... it thought it was a 4.0
is THIS the vintage aluminum can version?
btw - the SA at Nordstrom yesterday told me that...
even though I have a flacon of Vintage Tabarome, I'd do anything to get more of it.
tried this again today...
my first thought? you gotta be kidding me.
qualitatively, this is a $15 fragrance. no way I would pay $90 for this. that is absurd.
i wouldn't go expecting anything different. NS is a beautiful fragrance, but it has always been ephemeral. there has never been a long-lasting "batch" of NS. it's just something you'll have to...
try www.beautyencounter.com and www.fragrancenet.com
i get a little of the soap but not much powdah
tried this today...
this pretty much comes down to: are you a designer frag wearer or a niche frag wearer?
if you (or your budget) is designer heavy, go ahead. it is a pleasant enough...
and to follow, the SOTE:
CREED Bois du Portugal
1 - Windsor
2 - Vintage Tabarome
3 - Aventus
mind you, this is not a list of their best quality, or best-made scents... just the ones I enjoy wearing most...
Honorable mentions to...
Identical? umm... no.
inasmuchas Cool Water smells "identical" to Green Irish Tweed...
my SOTD, i applied 3 sprays at 6:30am and it's glowing its gorgeous soapy musky base right now at 3:30 (9+ hours). also put one spray on my arm and it's still very much there. incredible longevity...
CREED Citrus Bigarrade - 8.4oz flacon
(thanks, jazznpool, for the tip!)
very true. TF Pure Musk smells like laundry and play-doh. funny, i thought it would smell more like... pure musk..
depends on the setting at night... a club or fancy restaurant? not really. an outdoor event or a more relaxed pub setting? absolutely.
no. they are two separate business entities. the website is its own operation in some office building in NYC (not public). they do share stock with each other, though, if needed.
that is just flat-out wrong.
representatives from CREED have ALWAYS admitted to there being natural variations in their fragrance due to the changing nature of sourcing ingredients. they (and i)...
it's NOT scissors... okay? those are swords. not scissors. *sigh*
CREED Feuille Verte --> Vintage Tabarome
1. it absolutely DOES look like a product from the 60's. *see MOONB's post*
2. CREED has been a private house since 1760. that includes the 1960's.
LOL... I can assure you it doesn't extend beyond this website!
in actuality, it doesn't extend beyond a few disgruntled members here, with very active imaginations...
we don't... just guessing.
why does it seem unlikely to you?
CREED - Windsor
this is the argument that the CREED-doubters just can't explain. because they are basically saying just this.... that Olivier Creed came along in 1975 and created 40 different masterpiece scents. ...
what exactly are you implying about Mexico?
eBay seller a while ago...
ha! no, i stole it for just a 3077% markup.
here are some pics of my bottle... (i don't know why tinypic turned them sideways)
CREED - Zeste Mandarin Pamplemousse
gee, Trauerkraut, WHY DON'T YOU give him a recommendation instead of trashing his options? that would be very HELPFUL.
that is freakin awesome!
CREED - Windsor
CREED - Vintage Tabarome
CREED - Aventus
CREED - Green Irish Tweed
Acqua di Parma - Colonia
MDCI - Invasion Barbare
Tom Ford - Oud Wood
as it pertains to a thread, yes, my comment is more useful than yours because I was responding to the topic at hand.
if you have something to say (negative or not) about Bois du Portugal, knock...
man, you LOVE this stuff! i notice you wear it most Fridays! haha
i must admit, I love it too. but it's a nighttime fragrance for me. a little "extreme" for daytime/office.
especially when the "inconsistencies" are completely in people's minds...
is it necessary for you to go into every thread about CREED and make a worthless comment like this?
you don't like CREED, we get it, now move on....
i think that is because GIT and MI are far more versatile, both in wearability and age-profile.
BdP is as good as GIT and MI (if not better), but most guys under 40 balk at it because it smells so...
none of those are great office scents, IMO. definitely not the Tom Fords. and the Creeds are a bit too seductive as well.
you seem to like Creed, check out Tabarome Millesime. that's my...
yea my fav of the house is Oud 27 so far. because it is so different. i haven't tried Neroli but I'll check it out on your recommendation. thanks!
btw - is there anywhere in DC where Le Labo...
Rose 31, Vetiver 46, Santal 33... they all smell like they were built on a base of gingerbread sugar cookies.
i don't feel like wearing Le Labo scents as much as I feel like spraying them on top...
Neroli Sauvage is so underrated. just beautiful...
BTW - Olivier Creed has stated in the past that SMW is his personal favorite creation of his.
does this mean that she wants you to wear SMW naked?
is she hot?
if so, that's awesome.
pardon for asking the painfully obvious question, but.... why on earth did you buy a full bottle of an expensive perfume THAT YOU DON'T LIKE?!?!??!
great for winter's night. sits on my shelf unused the rest of the year. but definitely a great great frag.
i typically don't find myself wearing OS in the summer, unless it is a cool night, in which case it's perfect. it's got a sweet vanilla base that i just can't take in hot humid weather.
CREED Neroli Sauvage
you can't find Vetiver '48 anywhere. it's been that way for over a year now. why it's still on the CreedBoutique website, I have no idea... it's said "temporarily out of stock" forever now.
I want them to do something completely original, innovative, and trend-setting.
(i.e. I want the next Aventus)
i made my own Molecule 01 too. got 10ml of iso e super from Perfumers Court. it was like $6. the much harder part was finding 100% grain alcohol (Everclear), because it is illegal in my state.
you won't regret. Royal Oud is such a high quality fragrance. wear it now while the temps are cool, it's a bit too much in hot weather!
AND Colonia and Essenza?!? that is just an epic haul,...
CREED Tabarome Millesime
Tom Ford - Grey Vetiver
CREED Royal Service
wow... arguably their two most beloved scents!
It's as if this hobby is 100% subjective or something...
Dior Homme EDT - overrated
Midnight in Paris - quaint
Lolita Lempicka au Masculin - audacious
M7 - domineering
Yatagan - clunky
Joop! Homme - cinnamon
Armani Code - cheap
Ralph Lauren Safari -...
Black Orchid is strictly for women. it is also overdone and tacky.
Black Violet, on the other hand, has a similar style but is qualitatively WORLDS better than Black Orchid. Unisex, but it leans...
whatever box they give you.
very true. and the thing is... it's not just their newer Millesimes (Aventus/GIT/MI) that do it. lately i've had raving compliments on Vetiver '48, Aubepine Acacia, and Santal Imperial.
i'm sure there are many scents that just don't appeal to your sense of taste. however, you can look at nearly ANY Creed scent, from Windsor to Original Santal to Epicea... and you will pretty much...
CREED Original Santal
90% of the hoopla over "batch differences" is completely in people's heads.
the other 10%? on purpose and admitted freely by Creed, and I for one enjoy the subtle difference when I buy second...
NYC Creed Boutique
Bois de Portugal
Tom Ford Private Blend
i concur. wearing it today and it's ROCKING.
Orange Spice > Kouros
try it some time if you want 10x the quality, with a better drydown.
happy birthday man!!! Aventus is a great choice for such a momentous day.
my SOTD is:
CREED Orange Spice
broke down and got...
Terre d'Hermes EDT 3.3oz
Terre d'Hermes Parfum 2.5oz
co-worker: are you wearing cologne or man-spray?
co-worker: it smells lovely. it reminds me of a sun-soaked meadow...
fragrance - Terre d'Hermes
2. Vintage Tabarome
4. Royal Oud
5. Vetiver '48
leave Black Orchid alone.
I haven't tried this, but I would predict that they would not fit well together.
However, I can attest to Aventus and Jardin d'Amalfi blending FANTASTICALLY together, 50/50. as well as Aventus...
i would just stop wearing fragrance altogether if those were my only two options.
Acqua di Parma - Assoluta
there is nothing he could post that would qualify as "evidence".
however, i can back up jjrichard83. I have heard the same thing about Royal Oud, that it might soon stop being made... from a VERY...
