    Re: The Hotel Smell

This article came out after your post, but you may find it interesting. Ormonde Jayne's Isfarkand products are offered in rooms and suites.

  2. Re: Help remembering perfume name from 80's-90's please!!

I love a good mystery! Was it Sculpture by Nikos? http://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Nikos/Sculpture-924.html
  3. Re: What would a fragrance named after your locale smell like? (2 answers please: 1 snarky, 1 sincer

Hmmm...Austin Tx would fondly and jokingly smell like bat guano, hippies, car exhaust and computer parts (metal, oil, and electricity?).

But the local scents I am most fond of, and associate with...

Re: I'm craving civet at the moment -- suggestions

I could be mis-smelling things, but Chanel No. 5 strikes me as having a good quantity of civet. Especially the parfum, which is so furry and warm and animalic.
  5. Re: Scent suggestions -something similar to Beautiful

L'air du Temps would probably suit her very nicely. A woman I knew that reminds me of the person you described wore this beautifully.

    Re: Back up bottles

I am lately feeling compelled to collect Youth Dew, when I come across any of the older, darker stuff. It can be had rather cheaply, and I like the variety in bottles (blue bottles, cinch-waist...

    Re: New Shalimar EDP Flacon

I agree! My birthday is coming up and I know I'll be marching over to Guerlain to at least take a look at this beauty and give Ode de la Vanilla a sniff.
I love the new look. Is that a...
  9. Re: Silly, crazy and incomprehensible perfume names?

Maybe something is being lost on me. I don't get the perfume names with the exaggerated spelling. Like Xerjoff's "Irisss" and Hilde Soliani's Acquiilssssima, Doolciiisssimo, Saaliiisssiimo,...
  10. Re: Which ingredients in Youth Dew and Shalimar are making me feel nauseous?

I wonder if it has to do with the bergamot, present in the listed topnotes of both Youth Dew and Shalimar? I love those both, but admit I get a little choked up after the first spray. Also, if...

    Re: Shalimar Bubble Bath/Shower Gel

I see that there is both a Shalimar bath gel, and a shower gel. I too would like to know more! Can I revive this thread to ask if anyone can weigh in on those two items?

    Libertine, did you end...

Re: Chaos by Donna Karan - old versus new?

I don't have the original version to compare to my new, re-released Chaos, but I think they smell different.

In my memories of Chaos, it had more depth and spices and a certain richness; an...

    Re: CHANEL N5 PARFUM Fans

I have (and love) a gorgeous little bottle of the parfum. Typically, I like to dab parfums. But if I were to repurchase, I would choose the sprayer because:
    1. I like the opaque bottle for...

    Re: Misha by Mikhail Baryshnikov

I have a bottle of this around, I don't wear it much but I do keep it for sentimental reasons, and those 3 or 4 days a year that nothing else will do.

It can be overwhelming, but I love it most...
