    musk

What is it that makes musk smell like classic musk? IE Keihl's original Musk? Is is an accord of all sorts of smells that makes that smell that I know as "musk" or is it really just musk? The reason...

    Re: truest ambergris

I found Cetalox and Ambroxan very, very different from the real ambergris I have smelled. I think it's closer with some lactoscaton and civer, but still so so far.
  3. Re: What neutralizes vetiver and shows a similar tenacity?

I don't want to remove it, I just want to change it a little. Vetiver to me seems nearly un-modifiable. Perhaps it is just my nose because I like vetiver but as soon as I smell it on my own skin I...
  4. Re: Do you ever smell other people wearing niche fragrances?

I don't like guys but I would certainly compliment one with a decent fragrance. C'mon you know how rare it is!!!
  5. Re: Do you ever smell other people wearing niche fragrances?

I love it but I can't wear it, so I spray it in candles (before they're lit no fires!) and scent my whole downstairs with it : )
  6. Re: Welcome to the Kouros club - No More Taking the Piss

I own a facility that recycles Kouros. I will PM you my address if you need it taken care of. I really want to try it!!!
  7. What neutralizes vetiver and shows a similar tenacity?

I want to experiment with neutralizing vetyver that is in the bottom of a synthetic oud. My first guesses would be ambergris to change it's character a little bit without accentuating it too much. ....

On the shape/simplicity issue, for instance, look at Serge Lutens bottles. They look wonderful. I think most people could agree on something in that neighbourhood.

Thanks for the links. I'm looking for something like these, but the minimum order on most of them is 7000 - 10,000 pieces. Um yeah, I would not even have a place to STORE them. . . haha

Re: A nice oud (not barnyard/fecal) for blending?

Firmenich makes an oud that is not at all animalic in the barnyard sense. It's ambery and spicy but I detect only traces of wilder animal. I smell more. . . sugarcookies and cedar.
