I thought you could just ask them when you buy a 100ml bottle from their site.
Also,do you guys recommend tthe extra concentration?
I know Aoud Cuir d'Arabie gets a lot of positive comments here, but i'll have to leave it for now because of the animalic thing.
What about Leather Aoud?
Someone also mentioned Black musk, and i...
Aoud Cuir d'Arabie is a bit animalic ,right?
It is nice, but i would prefer Tauer's LDDM.They are similar imo
Dior homme with Gris Clair.
Hello there, i am going to purchase Musk to Musk from the Montale site. They offer an additional 20ml bottle as a gift with my purchase.
I want some recomendations for the gift bottle.
What do you mean?
Hello there, does anyone had any problem with shipping perfumes to Iceland?
I'm shipping to Salthill,Galway.Thanks!
Hello there,i'd like to know if anyone had any problem on shipping perfumes to Ireland.
I had some trouble when i shipped some perfumes to the Uk last year, due to the Royal mail classification of...
I really don't agree that the 2004-2012 juice is the same.Having 2005 and 2006 bottles,i can say they are much stronger and better than any post 2010 version.
Refan also offers exeptional bulgarian rose oil.
These shops offer 30,50 and 100 ml bottles of imitation perfumes.
So ,they are marketing their products with as 'type' of the actual fragrance, for example ''Millesime imperial Type''.There is no...
Here in Greece, about 2 years ago ,there was a perfume frenzy.
Perfume stores, offering only imitations of famous perfumes,(designer mostly)were opening massively.
The majority of the perfumes they...
I didn't know, sorry. So no preservatives so isopropyl myristate.Makes sense.
Anyone?Any perfumer maybe?
You are not forced to even read this threat.
Ohh now it makes sense!!!You are hilarious ,what a sense of humor.....
First of all, since 95 degree alchohol is pretty expensive, you can't just using it to make large quantities of perfume....
so why perfumes use isopropyl myristate,or propylene glycol?
I need to ,beacause some ingredient will allow the oils to blend easily, and the perfume to last longer
Due to the restrictions of mailing flamable substances,i can't get my hands to perfumes alcochol here in Greece.
Can i make some perfumers alcohol myself using pure 95 degree alcohol and isopropyl...
Thank all guys,i propably start sampling some of those next week.
Nemo Shams get a lot of love on BN.
I also have in mind akkad from Lubin.
What you think?
MKK layered with Black Afgano maybe?:cheesy:
I see there is civet in the notes listed ,i don't want anything too animalic
What about Black Aoud?I've heard very good things about it...
..But wearable !
I mean, i do like heavy and bold musky/woody orientals, but i can't wear any heavy animalic musk.
For instance i do have Yatagan and i like to wear it time to time.I can't stand...

VETIVER POUR ELLE
Also very hard to find, brand new in box.
Oooh i see MKK is a favorite here.
Also, i forgot to mention that i have already have mixed vintage and current formulation Fahrenheit in 1:1 ratio.
And its pretty damn MASCULINE.
Hedonist nice combo there!!!
I forgot to say that you should all consider this ''challenge" as realistic ,meaning that you're trying to mix scents that are matching, in some level .
For instance, you cant mix Encre Noir with...
...via layering or mixing ,two or more perfumes that you think that they can result a pretty damn masculine smell.
My choice was layering Dirty English with Yatagan.
FAHRENHEIT by far folks, the most unique PERFUME out there.
This may sound odd but i find many similarities with Chergui.
Also Volutes starts with a massive tobacco note ,followed by a honeyed layer that works as a fixative all the way down.
Diggin' this old post ,i have not quite understand the whole "ephemeral" range thing.
I own a black labeled botlle of Chergui, which has the same price with the haute concentration range.
I will try it and post the results here.
That was helpfull.
Using the ethyl alchohol extraction method, how do i proceed?
I mix the alchohol with the resin and then i filter the mix?
Ooops! Double post.
You shouldn't be so sure about it...There are countless natural resins that are pourable,Galbanum and Peru balsam for exaple.
The smell of raw Styrax does include the styrene note, which is...
I need some advise on how can i use raw Liquidamber resin in perfume blends .
The stuff i got ,is pourable and the color is ash like grey.It has the typical styrene-in your face...
Come on guys ,i'ts just a 2004-2005 formulation.
Well ,as far as i remember from my previous(and now empty) silver bottle,it might be a bit more concetrated.
I think it's from the 2004-2005 era.
That means it is the pre-2008 formulation (3rd formulation?).
It is defenetely more close to the original than the current formula, some say that i'ts...
After the Fahrenheit vintage box set that i have found, there is a new entry to my collection.
The most wanted ,rare ,and impossible to find new version of Fahrenheit:The silver...
I think it's different ,not weaker.
The think is that floral notes are more projected in the older versions,so the overall effect is more intense, more rich and floral.
The current is more woody in...
I bought my silver bottle around 2005 i think.
I also think that this edition was available only that year.
I'ts a pitty that i have used it all.
All i have left is the bottle....
As i asked in a previous post, could this called "vintage"?
A big truth.
I also found the threat about the silver bottle:
Yes, the current formula has more green-oily character indeed, great too.I grow up smelling Fahrenheit on family members (females oddly!!) and i remember the more floral aspect of it.
I forgot to mention the most important thing:
The juice itself is VERY different in a good way.It is way more floral (honeysuckle) with a more deep character, very rich.
The violet note is...
After 2008,i was looking for an older formulation of this amazing stuff.
I liked the new bottle design, but there was something missing from the juice.
I still have some empty bottles of...
As i can see from the replies, the majority does not get the civet, some get castoreum(which is very smooth if i got it).
So i'm expecting something definitely leather-ish,slightly animalic,with a...
Well ,i asume that the SL company ships the exlusive bottles all over Europe, don't they?
As for now(and February),no more money for SL.I'll wait until my other two SL(Daim blond and Douce amere)...
What no civet in there?
Rather strange, because in most of the notes listing for CM ,civet is included.
Anyway,i'm not saying that i do not like Civet, but in some cases it is really overwhelming....
I am very impressed by the notes list in this one.
The only thing that frights me a bit is the civet note.
I don't want it to be too strong.
Actually,how strong is it?
Is it ,for example like...
Well, i think that DB suits on a young woman just fine.
Im not saying it's feminine because of some notes,it has a feminine character as a result of composition.
Can't imagine a man wearing it.
Don't get me wrong, i like both Douce Amere and Daim Blond (Especialy Douce amere, which i liked even more since i first sniff it..).
It's just that i want something from the SL line that will really...
Well, it's kinda weird for me to say that i've bought this.
As i've said in my previous (and...
I've smelled both Five o clock and Vetiver Oriental.
Five o'clock was a pleasant -yet massive!- spices blast,i didn't smelled any resins but there was something more liquid and dark in the backround...
Greetings to the Basenotes Community,
This is my very first post i think, but i've been watching this forum for a while.
The last days, i have bought 2 Lutens :Chergui and Douce Amere.
