Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche
What would you like?
Although I can't say for sure, I believe this has been reformulated. My bottle from around the time of the original release seems much stronger than what's out there now.
Tried it today. Didn't notice much difference from the original A*Men until well into it's development. I was hoping for something original, shoulda known better. I do like it though, just found it...
Tried this a couple weeks back. Wasn't impressed.
Thanks! I'm really excited for it. Congrats to you as well!
Nah. They'd have to drive an hour to the nearest high end department store, so I didn't want to burden them. Plus, a new acoustic guitar is currently at the top of my wishlist.
I did buy myself a...
Yes, it smells like Aventus.
Gift certificates for the local music store.
No fragrances for me.
Although RO is one of my absolute favorites, I wouldn't recommend a BB in this price range. Get a sample first.
Interlude for sure. You'll grow into it!
How many for you?
Amouage Opus VI
Yes. A little less than I paid.
I really enjoyed this one as well.
I wanted to try it, but the reviews put me off. Good to know its worth a look!
If you end up going for it, Fragrancex currently have it in stock.
I'll be seeing family so I want something discreet and crowd pleasing. Thinking about Guerlain L'Homme Ideal. I'm really starting to come around on this one after slamming it when it first came out. ...
Perhaps a split is the way to go.
Eau de NY
Perhaps Adam Levine for men. Very tropical smelling with notes of mango, guava etc. Inexpensive, but maybe a bit more than $20.
I actually prefer the "horrific 2010 batches".
My 2011 bottle is noticeably weaker.
I like it, but find it just a bit too sweet. I'll stick with Dior Homme.
Agree, although for me, price plays a large role as well.
It stinks, but I think Coney Island smells much worse.
Why not both? I'm wearing Tam Dao right now. I think it's unique, and smells wonderful. I've never understood the notion that niche fragrances don't smell good, and can't be appreciated by people who...
If you'll allow me to state the obvious, it is similar to Neroli Portofino, but with a much stronger mandarin orange topnote. FWIW I liked it much more than Costa Azzurra, but I do prefer NP. If I...
Re samples: I requested a sample of Sadanne with my Black Friday order, and sure enough, there was a 2ml atomizer included in the box.
She only comments on my SOTD when she has something positive to say, otherwise she doesn't say anything.
Try Cuba by Czech & Speake.
Ralph Lauren Purple Label, or maybe Romance Silver?
I like it well enough, but not FBW for me.
Can't say I've ever had that much of a swing. I've gone from like well enough, to terribly bored of a fragrance, but never all the way to repulsion.
If you enjoy Bois d’Ascèse, have a look at Masque Milano Russian Tea Ritual. It's similar to Bois d’Ascèse, but adds a mint tea accord. I believe it was created by the same perfumer.
Rerelease Windsor and I'd be happy.
Insert Lomani fragrance here...
How do you like your bottle of Al Rehab Silver?
Yes. Creed fragrances aren't supposed to be wrapped in cellophane anyways, but this is NOT an indication of a fake. Are you familiar with how GIT is supposed to smell?
Where did you buy it?
I remember it having a nice lime opening that reminded me of Sprite/7Up, but it went downhill from there.
How dare you! :)
Olfactory fatigue. Dia is subtle as far as Amouage frags go.
CdG have plenty of fragrances that are safe as far as BBs go. Amazingreen, the Blue line, the Play line, Kyoto etc. They're not what I'd call daring fragrances.
Bring the bottle and reapply liberally throughout the night.
Oh gawd. Yes, looks real to me.
Well in that case, it's a good thing my reason for wearing fragrances is NOT to attract women.
Some of the worst fragrances YSL have ever produced. L'homme Parfum is especially nasty. I'd take M7, Opium, and Rive Gauche over any of them.
Guess again, Kal. :)
+1. Creed change their packaging all the time.
Seems that a magnetic Amouage cap is bad news. Rumor is that they've reformulated their scents, and the newer bottles have a magnetic cap.
FWIW I've purchased 2 Amouage testers from fragrancenet...
Every time I go to Sephora, their Dior Homme tester is nearly empty. Now perhaps my town is full of fragrance aficionados, but probably not. Me thinks It's pretty well liked by the masses.
Why must you do this to me? I'd sell my first born and get both. :)
Honestly though, if I could only choose one, it would be DH for its versatility.
Absolutely! I remember testing Jeke and not being too thrilled with it, but then waking up to the most beautiful vanilla smell. I couldn't believe it was the same fragrance.
Another is Musc...
Ya, that was kinda my point... :rolleyesold:
Aoud Cuir D'Arabie
Created by Olivier Polge so that explains the similarity to Chanel Allure. It's an ok fragrance, but I prefer the original F by Feragammo. I don't see the relation to La Nuit.
155 reviews in the BN directory. Probably a good place to start...
Fate Woman & Beloved Man. Both smell amazing to me.
How many fake bottles of perfume have you purchased from lilydirect?
It was an unboxed tester and they were running a 25% off code.
I've bought quite a few L'Artisans from Lilydirect. All were $60-80 for a 100ml, and I can assure you, they're authentic.
Wow. This arrived today. Fastest turnaround I've ever experienced. Will report back once I give em a sniff.
Oh ok, lol. You got me! :cheesy:
My top ten, in no particular order:
Eau Des Baux
Hanae Mori HiM
Halston Man Amber
Mugler Pure Havane
Halston Man Amber
Guerlain Herba Fresca. Minty and affordable.
I used to own it, but can't remember much. All I can say is you better like fig.
Opium would be my choice.
I think they'll arrive next week sometime, but if you really want to know, just send him an email.
Agree, or you can save a bit of $ by getting a split here on BN. I like animalic fragrances, but this one rubs me the wrong way.
You've got a bottle?? Where'd you get that??
Hmm, hard to say, but I think yes, it's more fem than BO. I know you find DH quite feminine, so I think you'll find The Parfum more so. You've got a...
Completely agree, HackerX. If you're someone who finds DH & DHI too feminine, stay the heck away from DH Parfum. It's the most feminine in the line by far, but I do like it a lot.
Oops sorry. That's Beaker.
Painfully slow here.
I just ordered a 100ml bottle of Amouage Reflection Man from Fragrancenet for $140. So you're telling me it's going to be fake??
Oh ok, now I see your angle. You're not going to win any new...
Ordered the sample pack.
Will there be a Hippo in the future?
Doesn't really matter that much to me. If I really love the fragrance I'll just decant it into an atomizer.
Same here. Really disappointing line.
Great fragrance, and yes, I've gotten compliments on it. I had the same reaction as you first time I tried it, but I warmed up to it.
I find Diptyque make very natural smelling fragrances, and this one is no exception. To me, it perfectly captures the smell of a rose garden. The flowers, stems, soil etc. I have a couple of samples,...
O'driu - Pathetique
Wore it today, disappointing. Starts out nicely with a leathery, fruity smell, but around the 90 minute mark it completely falls apart and you're left with only incense, and Vetiver which calls to...
Agree. 24 Gold is ok, but a little too feminine for me.
+1. Sweet is an understatement.
I sampled this recently. Nice stuff, and definitely very close to Musc Ravageur, just not quite as strong.
Nobile 1942 - Rudis
They can be found much cheaper elsewhere.
The most prolific, experienced, and respected reviewers review here on Basenotes. To me, the Basenotes numbers mean more. The other forums are full of teens in search of the latest panty dropper...
Please, each of you state your arguement.
