Couldn't have said it better myself, ditto for me.
I can finally attest I have a Creed that has legs,
In terms of longevity for me about 6-8 hours, projection a bit less around 4-5 hours. I'm happy with that.
Just returned from Paris and purchased a small bottle of Aventus 2.0 oz from the Creed store for about $70 US after the conversion. Absolutely love this fragrance and it is arguably my favorite from...
Green Irish Tweed or Millesime Imperial for me.
I purchased a decant from the Perfumed Court about a year ago, it was a reissue, I grew to appreciate the fragrance over time, now I love it. When NM offered the Parisiennes Derby I jumped on it...
I love the scent, although I must agree, the longevity is not in the same league as say, Terre D'Hermes, for me at least. A great winter fragrance all the same.
I can only imagine what the sample decants will cost.
The color is pretty close to my photo, possibly a 5% shade lighter, give or take.
My 2 cents:
1. Patou Pour Homme
5. Duc de Vervins
AOS Sandalwood is a synthetic from what I've read, be that as it may, I don't find it to be the same as Egoiste at all, not even close. It is not spicy IMO, and the eucalyptus is not evident in my...
No, the bottle came with the atomizer. So far it works fine, no leaks, but I am considering transferring some to a small 5 ml sprayer.
I'm loving it!
And it does seem different from the the reissue, more deeper in the mid notes to me.
Here are some photos of my bottle, sorry I haven't posted sooner. It does come with an atomizer.
That's encouraging to read Mr. G, as I only had a decant of the reissue to compare with. I must say, I am very much pleased with the Parisiennes juice so far, and I don't pick up any of the weird...
Couldn't have said it better myself!
I switched to a safety razor about a year ago and have no regrets, the cost alone is a worthwhile reason to switch.
Example: 25 count of Derby razor blades...
You did mention the Vega bottle in a previous post, let us know what you choose.
I will be posting pictures soon. Love the Frag so far, it seems different from the reissue decant I have, although I never tried the vintage, so I couldn't give a fair comparison.
I'd love a bottle of New York by Parfums de Nicolaï
I gave myself a limited edition of Guerlain Derby for my birthday recently from Neiman Marcus' Trunk Show.
Great pictures Mr. G. Thank you for sharing!
My wife and I are planning Paris next year for our anniversary and the house of Guerlain is definitely a planned visit.
Armani Code for me.
M7 by YSL come to mind for me.
Congrats on your Creed buy!
The Nordstrom in my town just started selling Creed, BdP is great as are my other Creed favorites MI,Vetiver and most recently Himalaya.
Bel Ami by Hermes has been a favorite of mine.
I plan on going next year for our anniversary, my picks would be:
It is available at the Nordstrom here in southern cal.
I purchased mine from Amazon, been very happy with it.
Pretty good routine similar to mine.
I need to get myself some T&H shave cream to add to my collection. I currently have three creams I rotate on:
Crabtree & Evelyn Sienna
Nice choice! It is a stunning bottle.
Ordered my bottle of Derby, should come by Thanksgiving. Anyone else joining in?
The Guerlain Trunk Show
I'm a fan of Rocobar myself, others that may be of interest to you are:
Beautiful indeed! And plenty for a good stretch of time.
To each his own I guess.
I have a decant of the reissue (Derby) and it has to be one of my favorites from Guerlain with Heritage a close second.
Ah, so it should read as EDT not EDP right?
In either case, I certainly would love to get a bottle.
Well, according to the Neiman Marcus site, it does. Am I reading it wrong?
Oh man, Derby!! In EDP, but it says "On Back Order" I wonder how long the wait is. Tempting, very tempting...
Armani Code - great for the price
Millésime Impérial - great if price is not a problem
Heritage - EDP
Man! This stuff has milage!
The dry down is so different from the initial first notes which are very powdery to me, after a few hours the smooth leathers and spices come through as a soft base. ...
Can't say enough about this buy. I tried the EDT from Perfume Court and grew to really like this fragrance. I made the purchase through eBay from this seller if anyone is interested:
When I wear Hermes Rocobar it reminds me of Guerlain Heritage. Although not the same ingredients, somewhat similar, yet I still prefer Heritage.
What a shame! A wonderful fragrance to be sure, I too am temped to get a backup bottle.
This has been one of my favorites since it first appeared in 1994. I first purchased it at Nordstrom but it is no longer available through them.
I recently purchased it through Perfume.com and I...
My two cents for a cream:
C&E Sienna in a jar - Great scent, excellent lather.
The Art of Shaving Sandalwood
It was my second purchase last year after Floris Vetiver and I have no regrets. The tobacco is not so strong on me, I get more of the citrus, and of course Givenchy Vetyver is a must have.
Royal English Leather
Here are my picks
Hermes Bel Ami
Joseph Abboud - My Cinderella pick!
+ 1 for me, a very nice collection to remember.
I'm getting Un Jardin sur le Nil by Hermès for my wife and Joseph Abboud for myself. An old classic I thought was long gone.
The Art of Shaving
Once thought to be gone, it is still in production and the price is right. Still gets the women to turn their heads.
The Art of Shaving - Sandalwood
It appears there is yet another sale available:
I may be, still have the new bottle?
Qourum was one of my all-time favorites way back when, but Aramis was never in my wardrobe, not sure why.
That's good to know, I did read that Chanel Pour Monsieur has some citrus and musk and or vetiver, which leads me to wonder if that is a scent more suited for spring and summer wear.
Well, my list to test looks like this for a Derby alternative:
Je Suis Un Homme
L`Instant de Guerlain
Chanel Pour Monseiur
New York by Parfums di Nicolai
Thanks everyone for...
I found the Nordstrom near me carries Bel Ami so I can test it from them, but thanks for the offer.
Well now I'm curious about Devin and Je Suis Un Homme, although it appears Devin is more readily available than Je Suis Un Homme.
L'Instant pour homme is one frag I have not tested, I will definitely give it a try.
I have a small decant of Heritage and really liked it, but for the same reason (price) I opted for Rocabar. I have no regrets. I find Rocabar less floral than Heritage, maybe that's what I tend to...
Opps, my bad!! In my haste I typed Guerlain instead of Hermes
So two votes for Bel Ami, a scent I have on my try list.
I really enjoy Hermes Rocabar, and I absolutely love Derby, but with the high price of Derby, I may have to wait a while before I take the steep plunge.
So what would be an alternative to suggest?...
The only way I obtained my bottle was a colleague of mine while in London picked up a bottle at Harrods, otherwise here in the U.S. it's a tough find.
Bois du Portugal
Rocabar by far over Habit Rouge.
HR was simply too floral for my taste, a beautiful scent yes, but alas, not for me. I love the woodsy mild vanilla dry down from Rocabar.
Now for a Guerlain...
How about Hermes Rocobar?
I would say Habit Rouge over Heritage for a stronger vanilla base. I get more of the woods mixed with the vanilla in Heritage.
I've only tried Heritage, and so far I'm loving it more and more.
