Re: Sample of the Day - December 2013

canuck21, Rose Barbare is, indeed, a great chypre rose. I usually dislike honey in perfumes, but here it doesn't annoy me. It's interesting how my perception of the scent changes depending on the...

    Re: Summing Up 2013

What a great thread! Sadly, I don't think it was a very exciting year perfume-wise for me.

    Re: Beautiful Roses

I love roses! I use rose soaps, hand washes, and drink rose teas. However, I found I am very, very picky about rose perfumes. Although I've sampled many (too many)--both niche and designer--I can...

    Re: Sweet seductive rose perfumes

Oh, roses! When I saw the word "sweet" in the title, I immediately thought of Keiko Mecheri Attar de Roses, but then when I read the post, I see that it has to be "fresh."

    You can certainly try...

Re: Buy it for the Drydown?

I can think of at least several fragrance whose dry-downs I prefer to the opening. Chanel Coromandel, however, is a great example of what you describe. The beginning is rough for me, but the dry-down...

I don't care if they change the bottle, but why would they touch the juice?? It's been a successful perfume. Thanks for the heads-up! I hope it's just a rumor.

    +1

I usually avoid citrus fragrances, but this one surprised me and certainly is not "sickly sweet."
  97. Re: My cat likes Dangerous Complicity by ELdO

I don't think my cats like perfumes much. The only time one of my cats had a strong positive reaction to a perfume was when I was experimenting with a sample of Montale Chocolate Greedy. He was...

I am in Jo Malone Osmanthus Blossom today. The cliché "spring in a bottle" comes to mind, but clichés, not unlike the shape a favorite and familiar dress, are not inherently bad :)
