I have no clue what a "sexy smell" would be. This is a subjective term; different for each person. I do know that whatever makes this guy happy is probably not at all similar to my taste. He is...
Today's paper has an article proclaiming scientists have been wrong all along about whole milk. The study showed that those who consumed it actually had LESS heart disease overall than those who...
Crazy squirrels! They're always digging in my garden and my flower pots.
I did have to change to unscented laundry detergent because I was getting a rash from my clothes. And scented toilet paper and tissue can be irritating. I'm glad unscented is the norm now. It used to...
Balmain- La Môme I get some sweet fruit, apparently raspberry, but mostly, it's a baby powder scent. I found this review which describes a lot of complex note development but in the end- it would...
Yes, the instructions are there. I've called a cabinetmaker friend- I think he might be able to help me.
I just got this glass cabinet delivered safely- all the way from Italy. The problem is, it is in pieces, lying on its back in a crate in my garage. I don't know who to call to assemble it and move it...
Wow! How cool!
Le De by Givenchy (vintage) parfum. Aldehydes and bergamot to open. I detect oak moss and some soapiness. Will have to wait for dry down.
What a brave little dog!
Yes, it could have been elderflower. That sounds right.
This makes me think of Scarlett O'Hara gargling with perfume-
In general, you can have a "perfume experience" with liquor if you try things that are favored with flowers. There is a wine that is flavored with sweet woodruff flower called "may wine". And I've...
Oh, I see. Thanks for the clarification.
Yes! Don't drink perfume. It is specifically designed to be poisonous, at least in the United States. This law goes back to prohibition and was enacted to prevent people from drinking cologne to get...
This pear cognac is great straight up or with soda and a lime. Also has a great "nose", sweet and floral.
There is a liqueur called 'creme de violette'. It has a perfume-like quality. Use it with maraschino Cherry liqueur, lemon juice and gin to make a martini called "". Really "perfumy" and will put you...
Creed- White Flowers
I have several Parfumerie Generale's that haven't been out for a while. Maybe 'Iris Taïzo' would be nice.
YSL- Rive Gauche
Those are some touchy situations!
Ha ha! This is a really good video! Funny dogs.

Some garden pics-
No, there's no reason to mention me. If you do need a reference, I'd be happy to send you my name, though, but I don't think you need it. Shipping has always been very fair to me- small things around...
Another way to go is ShopFrance inc. A person I met on EBay who goes to Paris regularly and then sends you whatever you want after she's bought it for you. I have bought these same room sprays. I'm...
Yes, I thought this was essentially a fragrance board so I figured applying the question in that way was appropriate.
Music- I like anything out of the ordinary but especially jazz and classical...
Betsy, that's great! I'm glad you liked it!
I have to admit, overall, I take niche when I can afford it.
Zephyr- thanks so much for the generous gift! If you all are interested- this is very similar to the old formula Rochas 'Femme'. Very dark, dusky and a little 'pruney'. There's definitely oak moss...
Yes, for me, I quickly ran through everything that was available locally. Next, I discovered online shopping and all the glorious treasures that awaited my credit card therein! I never looked back. ...
Tmoran- I never buy scent just because it's expensive. If I did that, I would go broke.
The last time I made a mainstream purchase it was a Dior from Sephoras (JC Penny) that cost $110. Those are very nearly "niche" prices and the selection at department stores in my Midwestern area is...
Actually Pharrell wears/wore a hat resembling the one made famous by Teddy Roosevelt back in 1898 or so. Also similar to the one worn by the cartoon character "Smokey the Bear".
Thank-you for your kind remarks, Bonnette. I'm so glad you enjoyed yourself!
Thanks, tr88. Nice to see you here!
Yes, we see it now. Very beautiful if you have binoculars!
It's always a struggle. I have to put them in a carrier cage or they might get away. One time I tried going without a cage and the cat got on my feet as I was driving. Anyway...no there's no way to...
I'll bet it smells lovely there. Mostly around here we get cow dung and sweat wafting everywhere.
I'm basing my comments on negative responses from husbands of girlfriends, I suppose. Also, my husband's friends who are strictly non-perfume people. While they don't begrudge Mr.K his cologne, they...
Poor kitty. He's a good boy, considering. I've bathed some cats, for fleas. It's no fun for anyone.
We had a cat that made the same sound- when he went to the vet. Pitiful!
I really think that anyone who would tell you to your face that you "smell girly" is simply objecting to ANY fragrance whatsoever. At least that's been the reaction I've encountered, mainly from men.
Oh, got it!
It does read as some exotic spice at first. At 15 minutes or so it dries to a smooth, creamy leather. I'm getting some iris then, I think.
What would your cutoff date be? Let's say- 1980?
Agree! Anything these characters can smell will read as "gay" to them. They don't have the confidence to pull it off. Don't let it bother you. Know you smell good and let it go at that.
Certainly both sexes like their partners to smell nice. But I think you're right- this explanation can help convince stubborn heterosexual men to like scent.
One in particular- Black Aoud, has unfortunately been changed and not for the better. Some of the others just might not agree with you. Personally, not a fan of Coromandel. I find it linear and...
Just shrug your shoulders and say, "One man's opinion".
PS- women like a good-smelling guy.
So much fun! Thanks for posting.
How nice you are loving this as much as I do. I confess, I am the culprit. I'm always trying to let people in on this one. I think it is not to be missed. You might like to check out my blog post on...
I've seen scads of people selling decants and samples. eBay are just bullies, IMO. Maybe you could try one of the other sites like Facebook.
Dior Cuir Cannage
On the other hand, I have 'Aprés L'Ondèe' which is notorious for its poor projection. A delicate, yet haunting scent I'm still very glad to own. I reapply as I'm wearing to get the most enjoyment...
I just got a nice spray sample of this one. It seems like a real winner! Lightly floral. A bit more delicious than Cuir de Russie, at least in the opening top notes. I'm not sure, but is that a blast...
What luck! 4 Mitsoukos! And a Cabochard! Enjoy those!
This can be a real drawback. I have a jumbo bottle of Chanel 28 La Pausa that I never bother with because when I spray it on it's as if I'm wearing nothing. Meh! (No, it doesn't help to spray a lot...
I'm talking about those of us who aren't lucky enough to live in a huge market like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, etc. For instance, here in Nebraska, the only choices are Dillard's, Von Maur and...
Exactly. There is just as much intolerable crap in the malls and department stores for men as for women. Impossible to discern any difference. The only solution are independent stores that sell...
Emoe, I hope you are improving. We haven't heard lately. How are you doing?
Ha, good for him. Show some respect. That goes for flip-flops, too. (I'm thinking.)
Glad you got out of there without a fine!
When aplying a sample I put the open vial right against my skin and rub in a circular motion. Spread in a good-sized area on wrist or back of hand. Do not waste juice on fingertips.
This is likely the OP's experience, at least reguarding feminine scents. Some male scents must agree with him. All in all, a very odd assumption.
That's funny they would assume only females wash clothes in this day and age. SMH!
What a pain! We let our tax tags expire once and we were out of town when we were stopped. Arrg! That meant we had to return when we got them updated and show them to a cop to get a signature...yadda...
Thanks- I finally found it. It's at the beginning of the 500 list. Very interesting! Apparently I have 32 of these and I've sold one.
Wow Badarun, how can you keep track of all of those? I find the list very unwieldy. I scroll through and see some I've tried, some I own but I'm not too organized about it. There are a lot I've never...
I'm going with Shalimar parfum extract. I haven't worn it in ages. Should be great for Fall. I hope it's a bit cooler here.
Special edition- EDP!
Creed Royal Water has the surprising tingle of peppermint and is beautifully unisex. A fresh musk.
Now I have a set!
The gilt Moser 'frieze' is an acid cut-back technique called "oroplastic" which depicts Amazonian warriors. Circa 1910-35
This Amber crystal 'Moser' with gilt frieze matches one I have that is an atomizer. This one has a pointed dauber.
I looked it up. It is a flowery chypre. If you're still looking for a home for it, I would love to have it.
See my review of Clive Christian 1872. I will be saving my money for something else.
Have a great day!
Mike, how nice that you are grooving on En Avion. You must really appreciate florals in order to get this one. It has that blast of neroli, then it does become somewhat 'leatheresque' but it has...
I think you would easily have 4 hours of powerful scent. It lingers for days on clothing.
The Harpy Eagle is the largest in the world.
Good for you! I hope you enjoy it.
