still up for grabs!!!!
never know till you try! ^^
get a sample
word to your mother
your being WAY too analytical - we all know what he meant by EDP
YOUR A FREAK!!!!
no but really... no.
celebrity scents are great! paris hilton's awsome!
i always say... the absolute best way to test out a fragrance is by smelling the nozzle.. the heck with a full wearing.
just smell the cap!
Prada Infusion & Penhaligons Satorial
Your top 10 signature is SOOO awsome!!! I've been eagerly anticipating it for a while now.
glad i'm not alone... i don't have time to research it, but what came out first?
FWIW, oddly enough, my wife likes the EDT the best!
On a different 'note', pun intended - heck, I’ve worn all 3 to the office before.
I think it works just fine with some business casual...
I was bored on my lunch break and wandered into Ulta and gave a shot of Intuition to my wrist… I couldn’t believe how familiar it smelled.
“I’ve smelled this before... What is this?” I...
my contribution was to lecture jonny :)
seriously, i think these comparo type threads (all of them) are pointless. 20 people say "fragrance A", then 20 say "fragrance B".
it does nothing in...
I'm in the mad sillage/longevity camp. Shots to the chest, T-shirt on 5 minutes later last all friggin day. And the drydown is just magical. I'm still trying to figure out if this fragrance is...
So there you go Jonny - now that you received a bunch of post saying I, II, or none of the above, what did you really gain from this thread?
As much as I enjoy FE, I'm going to have to let it go in the classifieds. Great deal on FE if you want it!
Indie said he craved it. Me too. Its one of the only scents I "crave". I usually dab the Musc Oil on my wrist just to smell as I go to sleep. Its weird.
I'm not fond of many... and I tried A LOT after loving Red Vetyver... so Red Vetyver it is.
First Post? Well you gotta get Creed Aventus for sure then!!!
i don't know jonny, i'm kinda with the other guys... lots of threads latley asking the same old boring questions....
you started a thread about Prada saying how it makes you feel amazing.
The EDT is the most readily available. It smells great, but its an aquired taste. I like all 3 and own all 3 (EDP/Oil/EDT).
The EDT has a blast of topnotes that can be off-putting if over...
NONE - i go unscented and let my fragrance cover my stank
I don't like tea, I'm mor a coffee guy. :)
ranks pretty darn low for me... i owned a bottle and wound up throwing it out before i finished it i disliked it that much. on a list of 100, i would rank it about 95.
Prada Amber is such a...
I own both and agree with rickbr's statement above.
they are similar, but only in the first few opening minutes. both have a smokey opening - and thats about all they have in common.
Back when i started this thread, I wasn't a huge vetiver fragrance fan... but now I've come to love em'.
The vetiver fragrances I own are:
Sel de Vetiver
sure, whatever you say
Aventus is one of the longest lasting fragrances I own, most potent fragrances I own. Its so potent it does cause noise fatigue and you get used to it, that’s why most say it last for an hour or two…
Everyone - If the return policy says he can return it, then he can return it. If the bottles are relatively full and not half empty, and Johnny doesn’t mind a semi awkward moment with the sales...
Penhaligons Sartorial - in the realm of Prada Amber due to the slightly sweet dry down, and had that soapy/clean feeling as well.
I understand where your coming from OP. BUT.....
Samples do give you a good idea of what the fragrance is all about. I usually do a 1ml vials. While not a full wearing, they do give you an...
get Terre d' Hermes without a doubt bro... staple every man should have
I decided to keep this and not sell, and glad I did! :)
So far I’ve been reading 3 different types of ways people interpret this sent
1 – soapy/barbershop
2 – modern brut/old school...
Armani Attitude - coffee
Frapin 1270 - sweet/boozy
both are not crazy like A*Men, and suited for daily wear
none, and no fragrance will 'get you a girl'
I’m a bit late to the party here… but I adore Prada Amber! I’m on my second 3.4oz bottle if that says anything :)
Its funny you mention fashion, becuase I feel the same exact thing. Perhaps it...
just got this and alas... its not for me :(
another bottle to the classifieds...
hey bud, yup! there's a trustworthy site that sells it... right here on basenotes in the for sale section! i still have two BNIB bottles left.
it smells a lot like the oil but projects like the...
wow... thats one big drawn out lie. makes one wonder if you taking lying that liberal in your personal life...
i woulda handled it just like the OP. why lie? you think that $45-$55 dollar...
none at all
Atelier Cologne Trefle Pur is a scent to behold. my favorite summer scent hands down
there is no difference. people are mistakenly calling it the special edition... its really called the limited edition. there's only 1, and its the 'limited edition'
i have a basically full...
there's now both the Musc Collection for Him EDP & the oil in the for sale section here :)
Narciso Rodriguez Musc EDP & Musc Oil are very clean musk while staying warm and sensual... The EDT is a little more edgy. The NR line is great, unlike Serge MKK or FM MR which both have this nasty...
I'm suprised this fragrance doesn't get all that much attention around here at BN anymore... the Musc EDP is a true gem.
mine would be diff too... opinions are opinions and will vary greatly.
lets have a 4 page thread about it.
1270 is the best IMO! Tried Jubilationi & Idole, thoughts 1270 beat them hands down (for my taste at least), which really means nothing to you, lol.... and this forum grand!
On average, there’s about 250 people in the Male Fragrance forum, and about 50 in the Female Fragrance forum (about 1/5th). It varies of course, but on average, these are the numbers.
honestly, the minute differences in the two doesn't justifiy the purhcasing t me
i have em' both, like em' both, but wont by one or the other shortly....
o'll prolly stick with the EDT being I...
Frapin 1270 should get a lot more attention around here! WOW... okay so after spending some more time sampling this, I must say I'm struck. I just clicked "buy now". Full bottle worthy -...
some would say Borneo 1834 is a 'stripped down A*Men'
must be some high life
I commonly smell Frapin 1270 & Montale Aoud Musk
...naaa, i'm just joking. same old crap, prolly Le Male is the most easily picked out
any other thoughts on this???
i'm kinda getting an AMen Pure Malt feeling from it, but this is much less loud and more refined. i like my sample so far :)
I don't have 3 reasons designer is better. Thats because I don't believe it to be a true statement. Just like I don’t believe niche is better being a true statement..
There’s few of each,...
And I could come up with just as lengthy a post with 3 reasons why designer is better.
Its all just objectives and opinions.
I own a good amount of both. I just judge on smell. Period.
mine is in transit as I type from Luckyscent! awsome fragrance.
"What's the best fragrance for a man?"
I hate it when I see these!!!!
as you know, there's no 'best', but I like Coromandel & Borneo 1834 the best from the 6-7 different ones I tried from Lucky Scent.
Coromandel is Chanel, which is pretty nice but a bit to girly for...
Is Fat Electrician from 2010 ? If so, then thats it! If not, I waisted your time, lol...
meh... i get very little excitement from reading the notes... probably the tea
I find it smells very very similar to Guerlains opening... but thats it, just the opening. After that, Guerlain changes as you mentioned to a bit more dated smell. TFGV stays like Guerlains opening...
The Different Company - Sel de Vetiver
EXACTLY what you just described.
Bvlgary Aqva is pretty good, but Sel de Vetiver is great!
not enough talk about tthis AWSOME fragrance!
Polo Blue!!!! lol.... woops, wrong thread
i don't find the IsoE comment accurate at all... i own pure ISO E Super and don't get ANY whatsoever from Grey Vetiver...
I think VE is just straight bad, i wouldn't buy it even if it cost $60 bucks.
there, i said it.
VE: very sharp, straight ahead vetiver with little ‘body’ IMO. Just sharp, sharp, sharp. Dry & arid. Not my thing.
Sycomore: has a slightly sharp/rooty top, but has a whole lotta ‘body’. Very...
this is my favorite citrus take on vetiver. exactly what you said, very classy yet modern. i like it so much i stocked up... lol, maybe a bit too much, but I think i may have a life time supply of...
Musc Ravageur & Pure Malt
some of the most upheld fragrances on this board.
hate em' and glad I got 1ml vial samples... otherwise $300 bucks wasted.
nothing is a sure thing.
I'll say it...
rule of thumb
dont blind buy anything, ever!
^^ hmm.... old factory fatigue then perhaps?
Narciso Rodriguez (EDT/EDP/OIL)
Terre d' Hermes (EDT/EDP)
Wondering if this is just me... I have a sample of SL Borneo 1834 and love it! But after a hour, I can barley smell it...
not unless I put my nose right up to my wrist.
Any Borneo wearers out...
i don't get worked up enough about it to complain about it on the internet
ah mr. fugazi getting into another scuffle... 38 post and your already building a reputation.
alot of the Montale Ouds (just not me and will never grow on me)
alot of Serge Lutens, especially MKK - just gross
if I feel there's a chance I may feel different about...
Its funny... the Hyundai cost more then the Mercedes on Fragrancetnet.com
Out of the two? I bought GIT. Remember that "Ricky"
While I'll not take offense to your attempt to jab at my sense of scents, (and while GIT is my SOTD while typing this), some of the “prominent noses” here on BN will admit that Chez Bond is exactly...
I own GIT, and I can comfortably admit Chez Bond smells awsome. Its GIT, with minor minor difference.
if you like GIT, minus the harsher opening - try Bond 9 Chez Bond
its exactly that.
I hear ya. I have about 10 I just cannot live without. The other 15-20 are nice to wear and I enjoy them enough. They keep me from wearing only the same 10 over and over.
The other 30...
I have samples of both and never took the plunge for Vetiver Tonka… though I’m about to buy Fat Electrician.
VT is more tonka then vetiver. I actually get very little vetiver at all… its just...
I'm getting sick of looking at a collection of 60 bottles, and really only truly LOVE about 30 of them.
Then I feel I have to wear the others "because I bought them". NO MORE!
j/k - nothing but positive. ordered Montale Red Vetyver from them, and was interested in other Montale fragrances and they threw in like 8 free Montale samples
This is a bit of a rant of sorts, but I’m becoming MUCH more selective with what I wear nowadays. If I’m not completely enamored with the fragrance, I’m finding I just simply won’t wear it and the...
you guys don't get that salty gauzy feeling both yield on the top? i certainly do. first thing i thought about when i first smelled FE.
after that, the heart & base are very different, but both...
I find these to be in the same vein... both have a 'salty' vibe to them IMO.
I like them both, but already own Sel De Vetiver. Think both can inhabit the same wardrobe?
Compare & Contrast!
I have a sample of this on the way too... pretty excited.
sounds interesting.... i wonder if it will have the large does of IsoE Super this line is know for, but based on the descritpion, it doesn't look to be so...
Thoughts? I like! A fragrance that has contrasting parts. A ‘fat’ part, and an ‘electric’ part.
The “Fat” part:
Vanilla bean, opoponax and myrrh create this. These base and heart notes lend...
yes, the logevity is amazing!
Narciso Rodriguez for Him Musc Oil - time and time again I just dab a little on my wrist before I crawl into bed to smell it as I fall asleep.
The EDT & EDP too, but mustly the Musc Oil because it...
I dont' think its all that great, hence I'm selling mine (see below)
the one i'm selling is the black/dark grey wrapped one. thats the only one i ever saw on shelves for that matter...
I find regular Burberry London to be a great cold/winter sent.
Burberry London Limited/Special Edition is more a Autumn scent. It’s nice, a slightly fresher version of regular London.
