Midnight in Paris EDP works very well in the freezing temperatures for me.
I actually find the EDP a little thick/heavy and cloying. So, I'd love to give the EDT a try.
I recently bought a small bottle of New York Intense and have been wearing it in the office once a week.
Received my sample from Luckyscent and wore it in the office, today. It reminds me of a masculine and fresher version of Le Labo Iris 39.
I own the Musc Edition, and it lasts 16+ hours on my skin.
Wore the the new Cologne version to work yesterday. Dabbed (sample vial) a good amount on both sides of my neck and walked about 10 blocks to work in the 60 degrees weather. It was pretty much gone...
I was here during the Basenotes vs YouTube Reviewers War.
Dior Ambre Nuit, for me, is like a milder version of Tobacco Vanille.
"Rose Flash is the most luxurious rose that I have created so far. It is special in many ways. I look at it as a little gift from tauerville; a perfume for my rose loving friends. A stunning rose,...
The vintage (blue label) is thicker and stronger but can be offensive when worn in the office; the strength of the Intense version is just perfect.
I have tried both and prefer and own the EDT -- it's lighter, one of the smoothest fragrances I've come across, and lasts a long time on my skin.
I prefer the current formulation of Egoiste the most -- it's a modern classic masculine fragrance.
I don't recommend blind buying. But, if you like citrus scents -- Bergamote 22 is the best one you can buy right now.
Bond No. 9 Brooklyn
My co-worker wears it almost everyday in the office. It's headache inducing. Good thing that he was moved to a different department. Now, my nose can take a rest from this synthetic mess.
Not a fan of the EDT. But, I own and love the Musc Collection EDP version.
I received my sample of New York Intense from Luckyscent and wore it to work, today. Dabbed it on both sides of my neck around 6 am, took the bus to Manhattan, and walked 10 blocks down Park Ave.,...
Get Dior Homme Intense if you like your Dior Homme with extra shots of cocoa and vanilla.
Egoiste. Though, Opium PH EDP, Midnight in Paris EDP, and Dior Homme Intense are very good fragrances as well.
I guess you haven't tried the first formulation, which was a bad one. However, the current one is in deed very similar to the vintage.
Kouros - just because I hate them.
As much as I love Egoiste, I'd advise that you always sample first and never blind buy.
Kenzo Power EDT
+1 I can't wait to wear it this fall/winter season.
The only fragrance that I like in your list is Rochas Man.
Ask for advise here on the forums and sample what interests you -- that's the fun part of this hobby/journey.
Egoiste (not Platinum)
Opium Pour Homme EDP
I own a vintage (blue label) bottle of the EDT, and I wouldn't mind a smoother version.
Le Labo Bergamote 22
Heeley Sel Marin
Chanel Egoiste (not Platinum)
^It does get too sweet when over-sprayed. So, I'd go easy on the spritzer.
@hednic Thanks for the info. I have a relative going to France tomorrow, and I'm going to ask her to buy me a bottle.
I suppose rum based fragrances, like Idole de Lubin -- I have the EdT, which was released in 2005, and I can't wait to wear it this fall/winter season.
Does anyone know if L'humaniste is still available in France?
Rochas Man -- I gave a bottle to my gf's teenage brother a few years ago. He said he wore it almost everyday to school, because the girls loved it. He finished the 50 ml bottle within one school year.
I would've chosen CH Men as well. I've tried and given Aventus many times and chances since it came out and never really liked it.
It only smells like makeup if you smell it really close (nose<->skin). Try to smell its sillage instead, just like how other people would smell it on you, and you'll discover the anatomy and...
Get him a couple of samples of Bergamote 22: http://lelabofragrances.com/us_en/samples.html
It's a nice fragrance + compliment getter... It smells like Platinum Egosite sprinkled with sugar.
Creed Original Vetiver
Bergamote 22 is one of the only two* citrus fragrances that I actually like. It's really smooth and well made and has great longevity.
*Other one is Solo Lowe Intense EDC.
Does anyone know if it's available in Rome, Italy?
The Intense version is one of the best aquatic fragrances I've tried. It's well blended and has a unique guava note. It also has decent longevity for an EDC.
It's generic, synthetic mess, and made for most men, who do not know anything about the art of fragrances.
As for someone who actually owns both original (2008) and reformulated (2013) bottles, the two smell different -- the reformulated version has more of a gourmand vibe and doesn't have the smokey...
As others mentioned Creed fragrances improve as they age, just like wine. So, I wouldn't return it (Fragrancenet is legit). Just store it in a cool, dark place and don't wear it until the year 3014.
I sampled the EDP once and bought a bottle on the same day. It's a great cold weather fragrance and lasts 12+ hours on my skin (I'd advice doing close sprays). It's a nose-wonderer (people wonder who...
Where can I buy a reformulated bottle of Encre Noir?
Tom Ford Noir EDP
I'm not a fan of vetiver. But, I love Sycomore.
Prada Amber Pour Homme
Idole de Lubin
I've been using Vaseline cocoa butter body lotion. Just one pump and I apply it on my entire neck and ears, let it dry for at least 15 mins., and spray my fragrance on top of it. With this most of my...
Idole de Lubin -- very smooth and light, yet lasts 8+ hours in all seasons
Frapin L'Humaniste -- cold, refreshing, light gin tonic
Just buy a 50 ml tin can for a guaranteed original formulation. I bought mines for $25 from FragranceX.
Does anyone have an official source that it has been discontinued?
BdP... but NY is a little bit spicier and thicker.
checkcosmetic.net is not very accurate with Dolce & Gabbana batches. As long as it has a sticker label and it is Made in Italy, then I'm sure it is the vintage formulation.
In NYC, mostly generic and synthetic mess citrus fragrances, such as AdG, Allure Homme Sport, Dior Homme Sport, YSL L'Homme, and Bleu de Chanel.
The "rubber" note in Bvlgari Black is actually a type of black tea, which is unique and blends beautifully with its vanilla note.
So far, I've tried Aventus twice (from theperfumedcourt and...
When I wear it, I see "who smells good" facial expressions from people around me.
If you want something similar try Kristiansand New York.
I remember Amazon (direct) had it in stock few years ago for $75; it was sold out within an hour after someone posted about it here. I bought a bottle but didn't like it back then. So, I sold it to a...
Dolce & Gabbana The One -- I've lost count how many time my gf has jumped me every time I've worn this scent. Though, I only wear it in the warmer seasons.
I remember requesting for YSL M7 Oud Absolu on that page, and Fragrancenet started selling it on their site a couple of months later.
All of us should start requesting this on Fragrancenet: http://fragrancenet.com/f/net/request_product.html
Tiffany Sport -- the only fragrance labeled "sport" that I'd wear.
Rochas Man -- $20 at TJ Maxx/Marshalls
Do close sprays (1-2 inches away from your skin) to make it last longer.
There's an old RG thread stating it was reformulated once -- and that version is weaker and released in 100 ml tin cans only, which is the reason why I bought a 50 ml to ensure I get the original...
None of the above.
I'd give Jacques Polge's original Allure Homme and Tiffany Sport a try.
I love Rive Gauche PH, but I wouldn't dare put on more than 2 sprays of it, especially in the 40C/100F weather(!)
Give Tom Ford Noir EDP a try.
It is unseasonably warm in NYC. So, I decided to wear Tiffany Sport in the office, today. Its dominant juniper berry note is really well done and very smooth overall. Jacques Polge should've made...
Is it just me or Sycomore smells different when sprayed on clothing? Today, I did two sprays on my chest, which stuck on my shirt -- and it smells more gourmand (caramel, like the opening of New...
It's a nice, refreshing fragrance. It lasts 12+ hours on my skin when close sprayed (about 1-2 inches).
I much prefer the original over the intense version... even over Creed's Original Vetiver.
My bad... I thought mines was made in Germany; it's actually Italy. Anyway, I've been wearing my vintage D&G PH at least once a week in the office ever since I acquired it more than a year...
How different is the EDT, which has less exotic notes?
Thanks in advance.
I thought the true vintage is the one with silver sticker on bottle and embossed box and is made in Germany?
Giving Bentley Intense a full wearing for the first time in the office, today. The opening is nice. But, about 20 mins. later, in the middle stage, it develops roughly and the notes get all over the...
Tom Ford Noir de Noir
Rive Gauche Pour Homme -- the spicy opening could be mature. But, after 30-45 mins. it develops into a smooth, semi-sweet woodsy scent.
Thanks for the info. I just ordered a sample.
I'm a big fan of Idole de Lubin. Let's see if Bentley Intense can match Idole's smoothness.
1/2 spray on both sides of the neck.
I would not put on one FULL spray of Rive Gauche, as it can be really over-powering. I only wear 1/4 to 1/2 spray on each side of my neck, and that lasts more than 12 hours on my skin. Spicy first...
Narciso Rodriguez Musc Collection
Wore this for the first time in the office today. Idole EDT is like a toned-down version of M7 (vintage). It's very smooth and has an airy vibe -- something that I've never experienced from a boozy...
None of those three.
I'd suggest something less synthetic, such as Solo Loewe Intense or Le Labo Bergamote 22.
Solo Loewe Intense
Aventus -- ashy pheromones
Is that a good thing or does the white musk make it more feminine?
I barely get any musk from the Intense version.
