Only if we can get you and certain others to do that on pro-Creed threads...
As usual, there exist those who talk the talk but rarely ever walk the walk. If one feels slighted by Creed's prententious marketing, that individual is entitled to file suit against Creed and...
Creeds on the whole are classic, simplistic, masculine scents that not everyone can pull off.
Actually, it takes a special guy to pull them off.
Forget both and go for Vintage Tabarome.
Original Vetiver by Creed.
Kouros Cologne Sport is great before or after a workout.
Acqua di Gio: liquid diarrhea with a twist of lime.
I agree with you, LuciusVorenus. While every fragrance contains synthetic ingredients, some smell more natural than others. Of course, the tradeoff is that fewer synthetics used usually translates to...
I have a small vial of Creed Bayrhum Vetiver which I probably wear once a year. The SA decanted one for me and it has since been mercifully discontinued. It smells like bay leaves and clove but...
"Brylcreem - a little dab'll do ya". This is the best kept secret in men's grooming. It conditions your hair, adds body, and a deep shine without stiffness. Every guy should try this once in his life...
Alcohol dries hair out.
2.1 Flaming and personal attacks are not tolerated.
We realise that situations can sometimes get heated. Remember that while it is perfectly acceptable to criticise the content of a post -...
Yeah, the Baie de Genievre smells like a freshly made gin and tonic. I've never smelled anything quite like it.
I have returned Creeds which were unsprayed simply because I had changed my mind about my purchase. Nowhere did I ever imply quality control issues. Stop reading between the lines and hijacking Creed...
I have both and they've still been snotty to me. Maybe it's because I go there during lunch several times a week for a refresher.
Sak's will allow returns on Creed with no problem, if that is an issue with you.
First of all, Gillette Foamy comes in a red can and not orange. Secondly, Ambre Canelle smells like Old Spice and not Gillette Foamy. I wonder if you've smelled either.
Basenotes reviews are only good for telling you how bad a scent is, not necessarily how good it is.
Imagine that, paying 40 bucks for a 99 cent can of Barbasol shaving cream with sillage.
Anyone who buys a perfume bottle based on aesthetics is just as much a victim of marketing as those who buy according to name brand or reputation.
10% increase across the board...
Someone show me proof that a perfumer recommends that you rub their fragrance into your skin. I have never seen that in the instruction manual of any box of perfume. Who cares about bruising...
If you want to know what real juniper berry smells like, I would suggest Baie de Genievre from Creed.
The more recent Creed EDP's (post 1985) have a similar drydown so you might get away with owning only one or two. Those come in 1.0 oz bottles. However, the older Creed EDT's (pre-1985) are all...
Looks like Creed wins again...
Myrrh smells like resinous dust mixed with vanilla. I remember it distinctly from my days as an Altar Boy.
I always wear Kouros on first dates and have received many compliments and not one complaint. What have I got to lose? I would advise against spraying it on your clothes as some have suggested. My...
Please try Kouros again. It has been reformulated and it is the only non-Creed I wear, so it must be good. :)
Most Creeds have a musk/ambergris base to give it that upscale and magical "money" smell. It really sets a Creed apart from your run of the mill department store fragrance. That, and it also smells...
Polo came out in 1978...
These 80's powerhouses never smell outdated:
Kouros(1981)-clove, oakmoss, green eucalyptus, incense, cedarwood, mace, camphor wood, benzoin
Baie de Genièvre(1982)-juniper berry, cinnamon leaves,...
Shoulder pads and mullets were popular in the 80's but no one wears them anymore. It has to do with fashion. It is much less embarassing to wear a scent reminiscent of the 80's than it would be to...
Here is what I have found with feedback I have requested from others: when I rub a fragrance together with my wrists it somehow mixes with dead skin and makes the scent turn sour.
There are plenty of RGPH shower gels on ebay.
Variation is the inherent risk you take when you're buying the highest concentration of natural essences in the perfume industry.
There are at least 10 other recommendations on this thread.
I'm still not sure why you are so hung up on what I think.
Any way you can get my GF to think about me as much as you apparently do?
surreality...I can't help but notice you enjoy quoting me so much. Is this your way of flirting?
Vintage Tabarome hands down. It's so strong you can't even smell your nose hair.
Shhhhh...we don't want anyone else to know our little secret. I've actually worn it on several first dates and gotten lucky.
If you like Cool Water, you'll love Green Irish Tweed. Yeah, it's a little mature and refined. After all, it was introduced in 1985 during the peak of the 80's powerhouse frags. For something a...
Kouros is a great hot weather scent. It feels ice cold when you spray it on your skin too.
At the very least we should all use a good shower gel and scented deodorant.
Creed Original Vetiver is similar to Mugler Cologne, just 10x better. It reminds me of Irish Spring soap. Definitely a must try. Vetivers tend to smell old fashioned, but this one is very modern.
Green Irish Tweed has violet and iris which remind me of purple.
Yes. Women love Himalaya even if you do not. It gets boring to wear but it does garner lots of compliments.
No, there is nothing wrong with your nose. I hate those fragrances too. There are fragrances you wear for yourself and those that simply garner compliments. The ones you mention fall into the latter...
You really should try Creed Original Vetiver.
Acqua di Gio, Le Male, and Body Kouros all drive women crazy.
Creed Cuir de Russie
Creed Royal English Leather
If you're going to use up the bottle within a year or so I say you go for it.
Be sure to wear that one to Malibu, Santa Monica, Venice, and Long Beach. I brought Erolfa with me to L.A. when I went there in April. It was perfect.
Citrus Bigarrade by Creeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed.
This thread was obviously created to make fun of the spelling in the thread "how can people liek versace dreamer?". That thread is an old one from May which was revived earlier today by Afraafra.
Wow. A member here actually took the time to create a new account under another user name in order to poke fun at another member's spelling. That's a new low.
It's as bad as Le Male and A*Men if you know what I mean.
Only if you hate Emporio Armani, which is similar.
Santal Imperial is a great scent. 200 years old and it still smells as modern as ever.
ToughCool, you really should try Creed Baie de Genievre. It may be the barbershop scent you are looking for. Think "gin and tonic" because that is the association many get from it.
Funny because I feel that Kouros is the only YSL that even matters in this world.
Can I wear a Creed instead?
Thinner people sweat less and naturally smell better than heavy people. It is in everyone's best interest to get down to their ideal weight regardless.
Bois du Portugal is similar and IMO a more wearable everyday scent.
Creed Green Irish Tweed.
It's what you need.
Nothing smells like a brand new pair of sneakers.
Creed Green Irish Tweed.
Off topic. See, that's the kind of comment that starts arguments and leads to threads being closed.
Back on topic: MI and SMW are too youthful and unisex for my taste.
That's why I don't own MI or SMW.
GIT is adored by older women who are nostalgic for the 80's.
And here we go again making someone else's opinion sound ludicrous. This is where arguments start and threads get closed.
Sephora or Bloomingdale's.
I can't imagine how you could like Orange Spice but not like Kouros. Kouros works best for me in warm weather while Orange Spice is nice in cool weather.
The basenotes reviews mention the...
I shall conduct the same test next week with the Body Wash/deodorant from Green Irish Tweed and the original Kouros.
Creed Erolfa is the only aquatic I will ever need.
You could try Santal Imperial or Bois de Santal.
*This may sound like the American Psycho skin care routine but I assure you it DID happen:
I just received my Kouros Cologne Sport Hair and Body Wash Gel plus Deodorant stick in the mail today,...
One can't compare oud to Creed. Oud is the Ford to Creed's Cadillac.
It does not. It's the same out of the bottle but dries down to a somewhat generic smelling dirty aquatic from the 90's.
"Radiance" smells like the local mall on a Saturday night.
EVERY scent designed in the 80's has been reformulated.
PE because I draw the line at smelling like flowers.
Nothing else like it in the summer heat.
Eternity signalled the end of the great powerhouse frags of the 80's and ushered in the soulless aquatics of the 90's. It is for this reason that I will always despise Eternity.
11) read fragrance reviews on www.basenotes.net and www.makeupalley.com
Which one would it be...if you had to recommend one?
The best laid plans...
P.S. just get BdP and GIT and you cannot go wrong.
Let's take a poll to see if we should take a poll to see a poll of each brand's most popular scents...
The day Creed is sold at Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Ulta, and Sephora, it can be called mainstream. Until that day, which will coincidentally never come, it is still niche. I know exactly one friend who...
Yes, it is. Most people still think Creed is a band that was popular for an entire 10 minutes.
I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I’ll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000...
The point of this thread is the same as the point of any Creed bashing thread: to antagonize those of us that are different.
It makes me think of Sephora.
Out of the bottle, they are nearly identical. On the skin, in the real world, after they both dry, the perfumey ambergris drydown of GIT separates itself from the flat chemical feel of CW. I might...
My friend wore CW for years as his signature scent. I've worn GIT around him many times and he never thought the two smelled similar until I actually told him. In the real world, anyone outside of...
Sit down in the LazyBoy, throw on a Rambo DVD, light up a Marlboro, then crack open a Bud and repeat after me: "I will not look at perfume ads. I will NOT look at perfume ads."
Try Kouros Summer version.
Cool Water is and always will be the poor man's GIT.
Green Irish Tweed: often imitated, never duplicated.
It smells like Barbasol and I hate Barbasol. It reminds me of Halloween.
Creed Himalaya smells like a snowy mountain top.
I've converted many friends into Creedheads who otherwise never wear cologne on a regular basis.
The colognes that gets the most compliments are the ones that work best with your skin chemistry.
Himalaya is a cool weather scent.
