Life's too short to be so damn serious all the time!
I'll just leave it at that.
We will just have to agree to disagree.
Life's too short...
I meant to quote stuigi's last...
That's why I said every so often.
It would get very old, very fast, if they were posted everyday.
As to the line, I really don't know. That's up to the mods.
Actually, the more I think about...
I see many prolific members, some long term, contributing.
Hednic, for example, is definitely a 'serious collector'.
Well, I consider myself a 'serious collector'.
Although some might consider them childish, I don't think I'm too good to participate if I feel like it.
There is nothing wrong with lighthearted...
I hope your joking.
You win this thread.
Hold the Island Water...
I just want to add I've never had the opportunity to try vintage Samsara.
As a sandalwood lover, I really hope I get to experience it someday...
I know it's not designer, but this would be my pick. Very unisex, It's not too strong - stays close to the skin, but lasts a long time.
It has the typical, high quality ingredients you expect from...
I own this bottle of Samsara EDT.
It has the short list (alcohol, fragrance, water, color) of ingredients...
Thanks for reminding me about that site.
I should have thought of that before.
OK I just checked it out.
It appears my bottle is from the '90's. Somewhere after '91, but before '98.
I was lucky enough to score a bell jar of ISM from The Perfume Shoppe in Canada back in '04 or '05 I think it was.
This was back when Paris exclusive SL's were extremely hard to get in North...
Yes, I shouldn't have been rude.
Your reply to hednic came across as snarky to me. But I probably just took it the wrong way.
It's sometimes hard to gauge the intent of people's words on the...
Why didn't you just add your info to that thread?
It makes no sense to start a different thread about the same new scent 2 hours later with essentially the same title.
Since TX doesn't have a wardrobe, thanks for the Egoiste Cologne Concentree Mancio!
Although the notes aren't groundbreaking or unique, they sound solid.
Coming from CN, I'm sure it's much better than the majority of designer fragrances that use many of the same...
I must have misunderstood the previous post.
It smells great to me -- doesn't smell like it's turned. Of course I don't have much to compare it to. I have only a small amount left in an official...
I'll enjoy the Memoir Man Wit.
When I hear chocolate orange, this is the first thing I think of.
Now I wish I had one...
Those Jaffa Cakes sound kind...
Thanks for the info Wheat.
Wow! I was thinking the '80's or '90's. But it could even be from the '70's!
It might have been this thread.
Unfortunately, some of the pics are no longer available.
I thought I remembered that thread too.
I did a search and couldn't seem to find it.
I can think of two off the top of my head.
Malle's Carnal Flower.
Guerlain's Samsara EDT.
I love 'em both very much, but I don't quite feel comfortable wearing them out in public.
Just a little...
I own this 30ml bottle of Eau Sauvage.
Can anyone tell me the approximate time period it's from?
I don't feel like digging out what's left of my small sample of the original.
If I remember right, it's pretty heavy on the oakmoss. So it goes without saying, it's more than likely been heavily...
Yes, according to this thread.
See posts #45, #88 and #89.
Musc Ravageur ( I only know the original formulation) is easily the best of the three.
Aventus is second and TV -- don't even bother! An extremely overrated fragrance.
After the promising...
Acqua di Cuba
Manhattan is just so so. It's kind of flat imo and gets old fast. Boring.
I envy you greatly.
Annick Goutal's Sables is the longest lasting in my collection.
The ironic thing, it's an EDT.
Two others that come to mind are Malle's Musc Ravageur and Le Labo's Patchouli 24.
I received a sample (EDP) from LS when it was first released.
From what I remember of the sample, my recently acquired bottle smells the same.
Vetiver Extraordinaire and vintage MPG Route du Vetiver.
Crap, I forgot about L'Artisan's Vetiver.
Throw that one in there too...
Was it the EDT or EDP?
I assume you're talking about The Perfumed Court.
I've purchased decants from them numerous times in the past. Don't worry, it was legit.
It wasn't the 70's or 80's, but I remember when L'Artisan's 50 ml bottles were $65.
They are now $100.
I've made that association too.
I think the EdM bottle might even top the MiP bottle. But it's technically a feminine fragrance.
Although I've never tried the EDT, I feel comfortable in saying yes.
(from a sample)
I was going to post the same Stones song when I saw the thread title.
I also think VC&A's Midnight in Paris is a really nice looking bottle.
And it's a girl!
Speak for yourself. I'd rather be drawn and quartered than watch Keeping up with the Kardashians (I think I just threw up in my mouth!). Just look at this freak!
He's a major asshat. He puts the douche in douchebag!
Not to mention, he married that talentless, media whore (key word is whore) who gets paid big bucks for doing absolutely nothing. It's...
I would definitely spray it on a paper towel or piece of paper before spraying it on your skin.
If you can find it, Mona di Orio's Lux would be a great choice.
Looks like it's back in production.
Hopefully it hasn't changed.
These links should help you out.
That sounds like my worst nightmare!
I second Midnight in Paris EDP.
Malle's L'Eau d'Hiver
Malle's French Lover
L'artisan's Fou d'Absinthe
Cuiron (I only know the EDC. Haven't tried the EDP.)
On a side note, In the future, I wouldn't be so quick to take antibiotics. Unlike bacterial infections, antibiotics do nothing for viruses.
I'll never understand why some doctors will prescribe them...
You might like Guerlain Homme.
It's different than the two you own, buts it's still in the same class of fragrances.
Welcome to Basenotes.
Yeah, that's happened to me a few times over the years when I've had colds.
It usually reversed itself in a day or two. I feel your pain. It feels as if a huge part of your life is suddenly gone....
I really hope not! Somehow I doubt there are many, if any, fakes of MiP.
I found this link about the retailer. ...
I have a quick question.
For those who have bought MiP from the following link, was the box sealed in cellophane?
Thanks so much.
I just bought a 75 ml bottle of Van Cleef & Arpel's Midnight in Paris EDP.
I got a sample a long time ago from LS and have always enjoyed it. Just never got around to purchasing it. I'm so glad I...
The opening of Parfum d'Empire's Aziyadé.
