Amouage Opus VII. Beats me.
Atelier Gold Leather.
An actual exchange this morning:
Female colleague: "You know how I always know you're in the office?"
Female colleague: "I can always smell your cologne"
Me: "Is that a...
Sehpora now carries L'Artisan in addition to Serge Lutens and Atlier Cologne....etc. Not sure if this applies to most Sephora locations, but I went to the new relocated Sephora in Square One.
Toss up between Millesime Imperial and Body Kouros. But haven't worn either of these for the past year.
I might be in the minority, but I much prefer La Nuit than DHI. I also prefer just Dior Homme than DHI.
I can't lie, I think CK One is a masterpiece and kinda paved the road for other unisex fragrances. Just goes to show how brilliant Alberto Morillas is.
Parfums de Marly Byerley, Day 5.
Surrendering after day 5, going away over the weekend and probably not bringing this with me. Too bad.
Parfums de Marly Byerley, Day 4.
She supports it somewhat. She's a big fan of Creed and pretty much likes all the Creeds I wear. She has a small collection herself but mostly into designers.
Parfums de Marly Byerley, Day 3.
I have to agree with all the bashing. After testing this one for a whole day I must say this is one of the worst releases in recent years!
Yes, the drydown of BdA is dominated by oakmoss with a little bit of amber (where you get the sweetness from). The oakmoss really gives off that 80s, 90s male powerhouse type of vibe in this...
Parfums de Marly Byerley, day 2.
Ok here we go: Parfums de Marly Byerley, Day 1.
Kenzo Jungle Pour Homme
I'm definitely up to the challenge. There are very few fragrances I have that I would wear for a week straight. In fact, I wore a fragrance last week for 4 days straight, and I was still not tired...
-New MFK Masculin Pluriel, MFK Amyris Homme
-Divine L'Homme de Coeur
-Parfums de Marly Herod
-Amouage Beloved Man
-Ulrich Lang Anvers 2
-Dior Ambre Nuit
..........just to name a few
Get on a split of LM Parfums Hard Leather.
Count me as a fan as well! It's not groundbreaking or edgy like some of his other fragrances, but it's just very pleasant, dominated by lavender, earthy notes and soft leather in the drydown. I...
My wife usually doesn't like the fragrances i wear. But today she complimented me on my fragrance - Kilian Apple Brandy. It's a bonus that i happen to enjoy it too.
The most memorable was at a previous workplace some years ago. We had a department golf day out. One of the girls in the department was on my team. Just when we were about to finish the last hole,...
Some of the ones I like on my wife:
Miss Dior Cherie
Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle
Creed Spring Flower
Up on the swap block are the following:
-Ulrich Lang Anvers 2 100ml with cap and box ~ 95%
-Chopard Noble Cedar 80ml with cap and box ~ 90%
-L'Essence de Cerruti Pour Homme 50ml with...
Usually immortelle fragrances are made quite sweet, this however is more spicy and more mature. This fragrance is pretty much about incense and immortelle with spicy, woody and leathery undertones...
Versace Oud Noir is pretty good, a more leathery, less sweet version of Oud Wood and lasts about 6-8 hours.
Another one is Bond 9 Harrods Oud, also a more mature, less sweet version of Oud Wood...
Ex-Idolo 33. I think it's a phenomenal fragrance and one of the best rose-based fragrances ever made, but too rosey for me to wear.
You should definitely kick yourself for letting your Cuiron go. Out of all the vintage discontinued stuff this one is definitely the best for me. I'm holding onto my bottle and will only wear it...
Having tried or owned most of this line I must say my favorite is Fate Man.
PDM by a hair, I think it's a better fragrance for fall/winter. Spice & Wood actually really excels in warm/hot weather.
The new duo from Parfums de Marly - Galloway and Byerley.
Though Galloway is released as a unisex scent it has that clean-musk, almost fresh-laundry type of smell that gives a more masculine...
Lots of Le Male and AdG still
Some good suggestions already. I'll add one of my personal Fall favorites - Yosh Sombre Negra.
Parfums de Marly Galloway
One from the Parfums de Marly Arabian Breed collection.
Really on a PdM kick lately!
Byerley definitely revolves around vetiver, I guess it makes sense to have the green bottle. The other noticeable note is definitely cedarwood. I think these two notes are pretty much the stars of...
I just want to say that I had a wonderful experience in Niche Essence. Absolutely beautiful boutique, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I urge everyone to visit the boutique when given the...
I think Divine L'Homme Infini is a clone to TDH also.
I thought I would really like this because some have linked it to Fate Man. But i was utterly disappointed.
I was actually very impressed with the top notes, spicy pepper + sweet tobacco, one of...
That's a huge blow to the fragrance community in Toronto. I talked to Lynn over a month ago and she did not inform of this, probably just very recent news.
What a bummer!
Relocating or closed down for good?
Definitely got a Tobacco Vanille, Back to Black.....kinda theme going on in this fragrance (been there done that). While it's good I'm not really impressed with this new offering. It's quite heavy...
I don't get much curry from this. I do agree that the dominating note in Fate Man is immortelle. I think it's a gorgeous scent, in my top 3 Amouage for sure.
I think Amouage in general fits this category perfectly.
But the one that comes to my mind right away is Puredistance M. It's striking, badass but very serious. It's James Bond in a suit,...
Agree with this. Also, while M is long-lasting, I don't find it to project much, but it leaves a nice soft scent trail.
Very well done.
The first few times I tried it I thought it was pretty good, I even placed it higher than Sombre Negra. But the more I tested it the more I disliked it, there's just something in there that reminds...
Another vote for Cuiron! Sadly, they don't make em like that anymore!
Knize Ten is good also.
They never got back to me regarding buying in person. I knew this was too good to be true, too bad.
Out of all the smokey frags i've tried, Bd'A is the closest smell to a real bonfire or fireplace, especially the first half hour to an hour. This part of the fragrance is quite unique and makes it...
Harrods Swarovski Oud/Harrods Oud - this one is oud dominant, it's an earthy/woody oud with slight dirty undertones. Overall, the oud, myrrh (the myrrh gives it an aged leather like note) and...
The closest I can think of is Chanel Allure Homme Sport.
Hoping to wear Encens et Lavande.
Bois d'Ascese is a phenomenal fragrance though.
5% tax is a steal too considering we have 13% HST.
Yosh Sombre Negra.
It's often overlooked. I think it's a masterpiece.
I emailed them asking them if i can make a purchase at their office in person. Wait and see what they say.
I used to work in that same vicinity. Office building on one side of the street and residential condos on the other so it's hard to tell. Some prices are too good to be true on this ite. Probably...
LM Hard Leather
Bond 9 Harrods Oud
Yes, Konig feels quite simple. But it's got a real crisp and sparkling quality to it. You get a smokey vetiver note when you smell it up close, and a crisp apple note from the sillage. To me it's...
Not sure if you can get the La Nuit de L'Homme Frozen where you live, we have it in our department stores. It's the closest to the original La Nuit but definitely fresher (hence the name Frozen),...
It's funny the few times I wore JXXV to the office, someone asked me if i was wearing Old Spice. Take it with a grain of salt though.
Viktor & Rolf Antidote
I was going to recommend L'Humaniste before I even saw your last paragraph. Bleu de Chanel is also good along with Platinum Egoiste. Also try YSL L'Homme and Prada Luna Rossa.
I'm surprised that...
Not a fan of heavy metal myself, but one that immediately comes to my mind is Caron L'Anarchiste. It's spicey, musky and a little metallic (probably from a combination of orange, mint and cloves). ...
One of my favorite sites to order. Lots of rare stuff at reasonable prices. The overall packaging could be a little better but overall i give them an A.
Yes, avoid the EDP if you think EDT is too sweet. EDP has less tea and more tonka.
Going to have high expectations on this one since VII was off the charts (in a good way)
There's a reason why the Oud + Rose combo was popular for many years
Props to you that you like it. It didn't move me at all. Someone said there's no life to it, and that's bang on. I expected it to be edgy and have a character, but it didn't. It's safe and...
If it's Rive Gauche you're asking about, go to your local Walmarts. I'm not sure if you live in my region, so it might not apply. During Christmas time, this stuff was on sale for $19.99 in lots of...
Rive Gauche Pour Homme can still be found from $19 to $29 here.
But one that still pops up here and there on Ebay for a good price is Fendi Life Essence. Underrated summer gem.
PH by a landslide
Yes huge fan. It's bold, unique, good performance and affordable price, it's simply unbeatable and one of the best designer fragrances that came out in the last 20 years. A true gem.
Smolto's Full Choke, not to my surprise it's also nomiated for best bottle.
Fetish Pour Homme - Probably the best and most popular out of the Pour Homme bunch because of it's association with Puredistance M. I can see a lot of similarities between the two. It's got a more...
Regular line: Fate Man
Library: Opus VII
Honourable mentions: Epic Man and Opus II
Wife: Creed Millesime Imperial
Other than my wife: Amouage Opus VII
Amouage, steller men's line (overshadowed by a stellerer woman's line).
Indeed a very nice soft incense combined with floral elements, it's a departure of the modern dry incense-ambery combos. PdE reminds me of medieval castles on a dark raining day, it's one of...
Based on the past year, roughly $300 a month, so I shelled out over $3.5k last year. This year will change, I will mostly buy samples, there are just endless to test and not enough time to finish...
I used Byredo Oud Immortel in the summer, does wonders.
Spice & Wood
Royal Oud by a hair
A meetup there would be awesome
Andrew's is great. Davido Afnani also carries Amouage downtown Toronto
Black Afgano is in my top 10
Didn't like this at all, the oud in here is very sharp. To each his own I guess. One of my least favorite ouds.
tried the new trio last week (though only the packaging was new for Oud Wood). Still smells the same, longevity didn't improve one bit. And the other 2.......were underwhelming.
Absolutely agree that this is brilliant stuff. Top notes are very challenging, but still wearable. Oud smoke in this is awesome, it's less ashy than the oud smoke in Interlude man. The amber gives...
It's fruit punch in a bottle
That's exactly how I feel. Cologne Blanche and Eau Noire are phenomenal stuff and I think Eau Noire is his best creation to date. I had high hopes for his own line, but I was disappointed with all...
Geir by Geir Ness
What i really want to know is what would have happend if he'd worn Aventus. Maybe for experiment sakes, he should go back to the store next time wearing Aventus and i'm willing to bet that he will...
I'm a fan of green tea, not too keen on black tea.
So my vote goes to Yang. I also like Roger & Gallet The Vert.
A pioneer in the male floral genre, unfortunately it gives me a headache.
Yes, Plantinum Egoiste will do the trick, you'll stand out in the dinner and party, and might even get laid afterwards, so watch out.
YSL Body Kouros
Jaipur Homme EDP
Kenzo Jungle Pour Homme
Chanel Platinum Egoiste
