$375 for a 60ml bottle of Puredistance M + 17.5ml Antonia. Normal price for 60ml of M is $325. Runner up would probably be Invasion Barbare and Chypre Palatin 100ml aluminum bottles for $229.
That's good to hear! Cheers!
I own CLV and VIW and they are both great. VIW smells much nicer and more natural to me though, as I would expect for the premium price.
Sure they do. I don't have an issue with someone charing a premium for a rare or discontinued fragrance. However, buying up a bunch of frags for cheap with the intent of reselling them at a markup...
No niche? Hmmm...
Bentley for Men Intense
Pasha de Cartier Edition Noire
Fahrenheit La Parfum
Bentley for Men Intense
Eaux de Beaux
Le Dandy D'Orsay
Michael for Men by Michael Kors
1. Puredistance M
2. Chypre Palatin
From the tester bottle I tried of Fetish, it's very close to M.
If you decanted Fetish PH and wrote "Puredistance" M on the label, I'd believe you.
Hopefully not at too much of a markup. I saw someone buy a bottle of VIW for $65 and try to sell it for as much as the grey market resellers. That would be unfortunate for anyone who missed out...
No, it's the official bottle directly from MDCI. It's 100ml and the same price as the 60ml glass flacon.
When I bought my bottle, there were 7 left. Within an hour, they were gone. Dang.
She gave me a refund.
I actually lucked out and mentioned that I was planning to buy a bottle of Reflection Man and a gent offered to sell me his barely used non-magnetic cap version. Very well priced too.
Got quite a haul today.
I made a thread about spotting a fake D&G Pour Homme a few years back, so hopefully it helps.
This one worked well in Hawaii and the Virgin Islands, where it was hot and humid:
-27 degrees Fahrenheit. I don't want to run the risk of my fragrances overheating, so I keep them in cryostasis.
I have Interlude and Reflection Man decants from 2012 and they don't have that going on.
Today I got a bottle of Halston Virgin Island Water from Amazon for $65! There was a mixup somewhere in Amazon land and VIW accidentally got priced under Halston Unbound. Best $65 I've spent in a...
Thanks. I sent them a message and they replied with: "That is the one for men. The manufacturer changed the packaging."
It's very obvious that it is the women's version as the box and bottle are...
I received mine today, but they sent me the women's EDP on accident lol.
Vintage Pasha de Cartier.
I'm not sure. It's from a decant.
Jub XXV is actually my SOTD today. I really like it, but I think I like Reflection more. My wife does too. I agree, Reflection Man is LOUD. It's also vastly different from the other Amouages. I was...
Reflection Man might be my next purchase. I was set to pull the trigger and then came across glowing reviews of Jub XXV, so I wanted to try it out as well. Still hard for me to choose which of the...
I will. So far on paper, it's a beast! Over 24 hours later and the paper strip still smells like I just sprayed it on. In comparison, I also sprayed some Jubilation XXV onto a tester strip and it's...
I have a sample of the newer Reflection Man to compare with my vintage. There is a noticeable difference in color. The new juice is clear and the older juice has a tint to it. They both smell nearly...
Same here! I'll compare it to my bottle of Magnetism when it arrives.
Reflection and Interlude for sure.
Does your box say "Made in Oman" or "Made in UK"?
Never tried it, but came across this before:
Nailed it right on the head. Very similar to Idole de Lubin in the beginning and towards the end reminds me of L'Air du Desert Marroacin. I wish I'd have kept my bottle of Idole.
I'm going to have to order from Beauty Spin after all the positive feedback I've heard about them. Lily Direct is where I've been getting my frags recently and they're also great. Jet takes 20% off...
I wrote about my new bottle of Interlude Man from Jet on this post: http://www.basenotes.net/threads/417130-Amouage-Reformulations
To sum it up: It's still a monster, smells 90% the same to me,...
I bought a bottle of Interlude Man with the magnetic cap a couple months ago. It's an August 2015 bottle according to the batch code and it has a shorter list of ingredients, making it the newest...
I've found a few vintage gems on eBay lately.
Vintage Cool Water gift set
Two vintage Joop! Hommes of different formulations. Got both for well under $75....
Prada Luna Rossa
Concentree for sure.
I was just reading this thread before purchasing my Santos de Cartier and Santos Concentree last week. The opening of Concentree is very harsh, but the drydown is gorgeous. It reminds me quite a bit...
Just got these in today. Dat Concentree tho! Reminds me of Puredistance M/Bel Ami
Vintage Cool Water gift set
Pasha Noire and vintage Fahrenheit.
Funny story regarding fingerprints on my bottles. I posted a pic of my Midnight in Paris bottle on here and I noticed a couple years ago that a fragrance shop in another country used my MIP picture...
My wife got me a bottle of Ralph Lauren Supreme Oud. I've been wanting a bottle for a while now. My dad also got me a Versace The Dreamer gift set.
I have the original formulation Aqva and it lasts 12 hours on me.
I like it. It's beastmode, just like the original. It's very sweet and unique. I'd say it's in the same category as Versace Eros, 1 Million, and well, Joop! Homme in that they are all loud, sweet,...
Same here. I have owned all 3 version of M7 and I like Oud Absolu the best. The opening is harsher on the vintage and has the cherry cough syrup vibe as others say, but they both dry down similarly....
I find all 3 to be equally powerful and long lasting. The newest version isn't as smooth as the Lancaster versions, but it's not bad. They kept the overall scent pretty much in tact over the years.
Having worn them all now, I agree that the 2nd version is the best.
Yours is a Sep 2012 bottle? From what I've read on here, 2011 and earlier is the "vintage" stuff.
I bought it 3 or 4 years ago and I'm pretty sure I bought it from a member on here.
I was going to go with Le Parfum, but decided to go with the Absolute.
My LIDE is 1P01 which makes it a Feb 2011. Glad to know I got the good stuff :)
The scent that really got me into collecting fragrances was probably Pure Havane. I've worn cologne since I was in junior high and even amassed a decent collection a few years back consisting mainly...
It's a wonderful fragrance. It starts off smelling like a mix between D&G The One and Idole de Lubin. Many, many hours later, it reminds me of LDDM.
Just got my bottle of Interlude Man for a great discount. It's an August 2015 bottle with magnetic cap, if the batch code is to be believed. I have a decant of the vintage Interlude Man and sprayed...
Just got this today:
I don't smell vetiver in Modern Reserve. It smells like I'm strolling though a dark lush green forrest and there's a fire burning somewhere nearby. I haven't smelled Crest or Cosmair Polo, but I love...
When I hear the term "powerhouse" I immediately think of Drakkar Noir or Kouros. As for my fave 80's powerhouse, I'll have to go with the nuclear powered monster Lapidus Pour Homme.
Duplicate post :/
I haven't come across anything that smells like Modern Reserve, let alone a Creed or Tom Ford. Similar types of scents from those houses would be Bois du Portugal or Italian Cypress, but neither...
Geir Ness is good stuff!
Funny enough, I actually saw a bottle of Polo Modern reserve at a perfume shop in the mall. It was the 4 oz bottle in a gift set with a Polo wallet. It was $60. I would have grabbed it, but I have a...
Thanks, and yes, my house doesn't get too hot at all. It stays a pretty consistent temperature.
I store my frags on a 6 cube shelf. Here are some pics, old and new:
I bought a 6 cube shelf to store my frags. It's facing away from the window in the bedroom, so no worries about light. A few pics from a couple months ago when I switched from my spring/summer to my...
I wore the logo/original version yesterday and I'm wearing the second formulation today. The original version dried down very nicely. This second version is starting off well.
A better pic of the different color variations:
I just picked up two bottles of vintage Joop! Homme from the Bay. Now nobody is safe! This is one of the most polarizing frags in this community, but I happen to like it. I've never smelled...
Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme reminds me of rainy days and swimming in the ocean.
You scored a vintage bottle of Joop! Pour Homme. That is the original formula. Congrats!
Nice! What kind of Mesa are you running? I've got a 5:25 Express.
Like a ghastly specter from your darkest nightmare, this 80's powerhouse has returned from the grave seeking vengeance. I thought I had banished it to the blackness of the abyss for good, but nay, it...
Opinion. Not a fact. Goodnight.
No, it was definitely reformulated. You seem hung up on the color of the juice rather than the fact that it smells different and doesn't perform as well as it's original incarnation. Here's the...
Yes, the original has yellow juice and the new version has clear. I think it may have been this year or late 2014. My clear bottle is from Jan 2015 and the yellow is from Jan 2013. A gent from...
Give me a little credit. It was legit. I know how to identify a fake and it was the real deal. Members on this forum as well as on another fragrance group have noticed a difference in smell/juice...
Definitely different in smell and performance. Mine was sealed BNIB, not a tester exposed to light.
Yes, my mistake. The tester was a March 2013.
Time to revive this thread. I bought a bottle of Spicebomb from Amazon and received a Jan 2015 batch. I noticed it wasn't quite the same, so I tested it against a decant from my old 2012 bottle. Sure...
SOLD is a 100ml tester of Byredo Sunday Cologne Eau de Parfum. It comes with magnetic cap and plain tester box. Only worn twice, so it's approximately 99% full. $135 shipped within the U.S.
Same here. It's pretty unique.
Love both, but I gotta go with Pure Havane. PH doesn't smell like a weak version of anything. It's beastmode. My fave of the A*Men line.
I did it with Bois du Portugal. I bought 30ml worth of the sample vials and put them in an atomizer. It ended up being about $35 or so altogether. I put a funnel over the top of the glass bottle and...
Thank you kindly good sir.
I have Belcam Classic Match's version of Obsession and it is a beast. Smells like Obsession and lasts all day. If it's like their Drakkar Noir copy, it smells like the vintage Obsession. I haven't...
Very well said. Don't get caught up in whether a scent is "niche" or not. Niche has nothing to do with quality or price. A niche product is one that caters towards a specific, focused market. Just...
