Yep, same here. I gave up on the Basenotes Wardrobe after the numerous crashes it had.

Great performer for me. No issues.
Deserves all praise that it gets.
Better fragrances are out there.
Counterfits - No.
Clones - I judge each fragrance on it's own merits. If I like it, I'll wear it.
Do you stop drinking Californian sparkling wine because it is a ripoff of Champagne?
Do you stop...
I should have measured the bottles for you.......
The 50ml is 67mm high from the base the the shoulder of the bottle, and the 100ml is 77mm to the shoulder.
Here are some pics....The LP No.9 is 50 ml, the Sartorial and Opus are 100ml, and the Bvlgari is 60ml.
It is nice, unoffensive, pleasant to wear. It is not scent that will knock anyones socks off.
I also get the gasoline smell. It is what puts me off Fahrenheit..............until the Parfum came out. I really like that one, and also the Absolute.
DHI without a doubt.....but do try DHP also. I think it is the best of the DH line.
I won't lie, I sneak them in the house.
Anything from Varvatos.
Your bottle looks real to me. Same as my legit bottle.
10+ hours for me.
Ask someone else if they can smell it on you at 4, 6 and 8 hours etc.
Ahhh.....from Turkey. That should be an alarm bell right there. There is sooooo many fakes coming out of Turkey, it makes me wonder if there is any legitimate fragrances in Turkey.
I suspect them to be fake.
They are popping up on ebay now. I looked at this bottle:...
I bought a bottle today.
The bottle is the most masculine, classic bottle I own. I love it.
If you like TdH and Guerlain Homme, you will like this too.
Glad I bought it.
Magnificent fragrance, and no longevity issues with me.
I think you just overrated it. :rolleyesold:
The longevity of these is poor.
I bought 2 of them.......and now I have 2 regrets in my life.
I do not like the original Fahrenheit.
I love the parfum, and I own a full bottle of it. I also have a bottle of Absolute, which is also nice, but the longevity of it sucks on me.
Yes, mine was from Harrods too....with a gold cap, and it is EDP.
It means it is limited to the number of bottles that Harrods can sell. ;-)
The modern Edition is pretty sad compared to the original. I love the original Edition version. Anyone that does like Edition, Montegrappa's Nerouno is worth seeking out.
I do like D and 51.3.
Well, it's been over a year, and they are not on the discounter shelves yet.
They are great fragrances.
There is a guy on youtube that does reviews....He sells it.
I am travelling down the same road as the OP at them moment.
I have 221 bottles in my collection.....too many. Many of these I know I will never wear again, as there are others that I like more....
Yes, as Hednic pointed out.
Montblanc forms part of the Richemont group. Its sister companies include luxury brands Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Chloé, and Baume et Mercier....
I was looking forward to this one........but I guess I may never get to try it.:
"Exclusively available to Harrods & UK dunhill boutiques"
Do you have a pic of the 5ml atomizer you received?
Also.....If the product is a dud or fake, the seller only has to refund the item price, not the shipping fee.
A. for me. I wouldn't wear deodorant either.......I would soon be told to freshen up a bit, but not to overdo it. ;-)
Less is more. ;-)
I think you need to re-read the OP. It is not a "learn from my mistake" type of post.
I still don't understand why you started this topic?????
You know you made a mistake. What do you want to hear from Basenoters?
Will you use a stock photo again? I doubt it.
Have you learned...
'Straw staleness' has happened to me a few times. I have particularly noticed it when I have come home with a new bottle.
I do test sprays on my skin in the store with a tester, and I like the...
Mine arrived today. It is GPH. Fantastic. I love it.
Here are pics of my bottle, which smells good. It is a few years old.
Caron is better, IMHO.
Ask others around you if they can smell it on you.
I don't use fragrances as room sprays, but I do have Frederic Malle's Russian Nights room spray, which we use regularly.
Hugh Parsons are worth a try.
Bit the bullet. Ordered a bottle online from Harrods. Getting it delivered to my sister in-laws family in the UK. They are flying out to the UK next week, and will bring it back with them.
........or will tell us that it is identical to Aventus.
error, wrong fragrance.
It has hit the stores in Melbourne for fellow Aussies.
I saw it in Myer Melbourne on the weekend.
There is 2 on ebay now......The question is, is it worth the asking price?
Try L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme Noir Absolu
I'm at 215 bottles, no samples or decants.
I'll be doing my annual cull soon. I would like to get it down to less than 50 bottles, but deep down, I know that won't happen.
I Paid AUD$116 + $9.95 shipping.
I used the discount code D4A67 for a discount.
Arrived this morning. Luckily, I forgot to spritz this morning, so I could wear it straight away.
Initial reaction......Not a school boy scent, more mature.
The closest fragrance in terms of...
Hmmmmm.....looking forward to this one....give the mighty mo a treat.
Steve McQueen for Men
Acqua di Parma Colonia Leather Eau de Cologne Concentrée
Can I pick more than 5? If yes, I'll add Timbuktu,...
Trigger has been pulled........
Very mainstream, but a nice scent.
As most Basenoters prefer something that is different to mainstream fragrances, this will not appeal to them.
I suspect though, that it will be a success for...
I love the original Dunhill Edition. Haven't tried the re-formulation.
Today I received Montegrappa Nerouno. IMHO it is just as good as DE. It is nearly identical as DE, but with a hint of Cacharel...
Yes, available at an online store here in Australia. I am considering doing a blind buy.
As per the title, has anyone tried this yet, and what are your thoughts on it.
Paco Rabanne Invictus.
What next?....... Match a scent to my shoes????
I thought he wore Eight & Bob??????
I recently purchased the current version of PuH. 2 days later I found this vintage bottle at a local market for $2. I don't know how old it is though.
I now have to agree with you about Universal Perfumes and Cosmetics in Kuwait. Their customer service is terrible. They will not respond to any emails....They will not answer any of the phone numbers...
.............but it is October now. Do you have a time machine? If yes, Can I borrow it?
I think your nose is off.
IMHO, direct sunlight is more damaging to a fragrance then heat by itself.
I have had a fragrance in the glove box of my car for a few years, and it still smells good.
I own both, I like both, and I find them different enough to own both.
DHI, I prefer to wear on a cooler day, while I find that I prefer to wear Uomo on a warm day but not a very hot day.
If you do like the Byredo, try the Viaggio d`Africa by Pal Zileri. They are very similar.
I wonder if there was any Creed bottles on the ship???
At the moment, for me it is Lorenzo Villoresi Musk
No, I've given up on the A*Men flankers.......they are not impressive....IMHO.
Yep, thats where I bought mine from.
I got a bottle of it today.......Love it.
You mention that you already have GPH 1. The Balmain is similar to GPH 1. IMHO this would make one of them redundant, Therefore I suggest the Bentley.
Lalique for Bentley Crystal Edition ..........and a complementing deodorant if there is any change left over. ;-)
I have both the ADP and ADB. They are similar. I like them both, but the ADP has better longevity.
For the price of the ADB, I can't really complain about the longevity.
For Australia only -
I thought I would give away some samples of fragrances not readily available over here.
I'll start off with this one.
Steve McQueen King of Cool. This, IMHO, is an unknown...
Taking a whiff of a sample vial, and actually wearing it, are very different. Put it on, but don't over do it.
TV is my biggest compliment getter.
Wear it proudly. ;-)
Love the Intense......Can't wait for this one.
Agree with this ^
After reading this topic, it has confirmed what many have said in the past......You cannot assign a scent to a stereotype person.
Just as you cannot assign a scent to an asian, or black person, or a...
I have both FB's of Aoud Musk and Duro, and do not find them nearly identical as posted previously. The Aoud Musk is stronger and last longer......but they are in no way the same.
I have the Spanish Leather. It is nice, but lacks in longevity, IMHO.
It is a scent for mature man.....and not for night clubbing. There is not much leather in there either. I get more spices than...
This is a great 'hidden' gem. I have 2 bottles of it now. Compliments everytime I wear it.
We're getting some colder days coming up.....I am going to wear the Phaedon Tabac Rouge to see the reactions from this. I think I have only worn it once since I bought it. I will try it out where I...
It happens to me whenever I wear the Palermo TV. I just tell them it is TV......I don't mention that it is a copy.
Yet, I have never received a compliment from wearing the real TV.
Not a crtisism....but a question......
To all those that say that they are similar, are you testing an actual bottle of Duro or a decant/sample?
I noticed the OP mentioned that he was not aware...
Tom Ford Tuscan leather
Tokyo Milk's Bulletproof
Creed Royal Oud
I try to buy the smaller bottles these days, as I rarely get through a full 100ml bottle.
Vacuum will draw the liquid out of the bottles.
Don't do it.
Comme de Garcons Black. Love it. This is smokey.
28 years ago, it was Dunhill Edition.
Today, I could quite happily wear it again..........But now that I have more to choose from, I could choose from the following, depending on the weather and my...
Sorry.....What is STC?
I have it, I love it and I wear it quite regularly......not to formal occassions or business meetings though.
Hugh Parsons Traditional.
Not overkill to have both. They are not that similar.......X only has a hint of CNH.
X is difficult to compare with similar fragrances.......
From X, I get a hint of Costume National Homme from it.
