    Re: Creed epicea

The same thing is stated here - yet basenotes says this fragrance was launched in 1965 and Gary Cooper passed away in 1961!
  3. Re: fragrances known to be long lasting (all the day)?

Casbah last long time on me, quite strong, but I don't find it overpowering considering the incense and cinnamon that waft off my skin the evening after I put it on in the early morning.

    Re: Shipping Perfume

Its not so far out of the realm of possibility. I have a lot of expat friends from the US/UK and Canada in Puerto Vallarta, they are always getting things brought down to them.

    Re: Something like a cathedral?

I tried Avignon and Hinoki, found Avignon wears better on me so I bought it. Its actually very close to Andrea Maack's Craft, though also different. Four purchases in the last month means I need to...

    Re: Something like a cathedral?

Thanks! I'll have a look at the notes reviews for those and add to my to-try list.

Off to Selfridges tomorrow and will be trying Amouge - Memoir Man (another hunt for a woody/absinth scent) -...

    Something like a cathedral?

I know there is an a actual "Catherdral" - but from what I have read its certainly not what I have in mind. I am thinking in proportion - cold wet stone, some moss, very old wood, and some incense. I...
  9. Re: Wood & Absinth by Mark Buxton - too soft, but I love the notes - recommendations?

Sounds intriguing, I wonder if I had a sniff of it, certainly no sample on my skin, but I was at a meetup where I ended up buying blacka afgano, which I have not worn yet, was keeping as I fear it...
  10. Re: Wood & Absinth by Mark Buxton - too soft, but I love the notes - recommendations?

  11. Re: Wood & Absinth by Mark Buxton - too soft, but I love the notes - recommendations?

I've tried them all and its the only one that does well on my skin, I am one of those who can't wear just anything, some fragrances just vanish on me or don't smell right. I'm lloking for something...
  12. Re: Wood & Absinth by Mark Buxton - too soft, but I love the notes - recommendations?

How it got onto my list I don't know, perhaps from reviews, but I did get to try He Wood Silver Wind Wood (2011) Dsquared2 - and while I find it interesting. Actually quite interesting ,its not what...

Re: What size colognes do you normally buy?

Oddly the largest bottle I bought so far was 200ml of ESL Nuit, one of my first buys, and I don't like it much or wear it at all anymore. Still, I would continue to buy the largest if only for the...
  14. Wood & Absinth by Mark Buxton - too soft, but I love the notes - recommendations?

Have a sample of this, tried it last night, had some very positive comments from men and women, and I really like the notes, but as one reviewer put it - its just too soft. What is close to this but...

Re: To the Terre d' Hermes Lovers

This my fourth purchase in my renewed love of fragrance. If I sampled it earlier it would be my first, when I put this on in the morning, I am enveloped in a wonderful refreshing cloud of bergamont...

    Re: Terre d'Hermes Parfum?

I bought the Parfum just yesterday love it on me...has a delicious fresh bergamot scent (does that sound right?). It seems to be at once woody earthy and fruity. I quite like it.

  18. Re: New Fragrance: Hermes L’Ambre des Merveilles

I picked up a bottle of this at Peter Jones in London the other week. Was my third purchase in as many weeks (I am recently back in love with wearing scents, what can I say!?!?). I simply love this,...
