Absolutely "Memoir Man"
Never smelled ink so can't say, but EN is a nice dark vetiver fragrance with a big amount of iso E super like others already said... Personally like the latest version best (the one which comes in a...
A couple of backup bottles of original pre-reformulated Terre d'Hermes
Yeah congrats! Also for the reason that Terre is SO good stuff.... enjoy!
I think the personality, the nature of a person, mood and personal preference are much more important factors. Maybe also age of a person at some degree. The fragrance should match to them in the...
Alberto Morillas is the winner.
Thinking about Rochas "Byzance" that he created in collaboration with Nicolas Mamounas. A wonderful ladies perfume.
It doesn't do anything harm to you, on the contrary.
I like it more and more, the more i wear it. Now it's in my top 5. I'm talking about the pre-2010 Eau de Toilette. Parfum is OK too, but i like the original edt better. The often mentioned flint...
Of course they can be worn, for your own enjoyment, especially if you love their notes, but then be prepared to the confused reactions of other people around you.
There is always a reason why a...
I think this is basically like making of simple things too complicated. On the other hand, might be a cultural thing, but asking a total stranger that kind of question can be seen as intrusive. But...
Something from Dunhill i think. Conservative British, in a good way.
Thanks Hednic. Might order a sample soon.
Which one is better in your opinion? And which way? Haven't tried neither.
Here's some, can't remember more right now:
Paco Rabanne PH
Hermes Bel Ami
Aqua di Gio
Santos de Cartier Concentree
YSL Homme Concentree
Faconnable face a face homme. Sampled it and sniffed for hours, was nearly to buy but after all, did not.
My wife loves on me:
Drakkar Noir vintage
Prada Amber pour Homme
I pretty much like them but don't love them... sometimes wear them to please her.
Lagerfeld Classic in the late 80's must be the most worn ever. Used to wear it for years and nearly only it.
The mini is a good idea but one thing to remember: many minis out there are vintage ones, and the smell of the current version is a bit different.
For the cuddling moments my wife loves Prada Amber pour Homme on me. Vintage Zino is another one, just one spray or so.
I've only sampled Chergui and Irish Silver Mist and the latter was incredibly beautiful to me.
I find eating a inevitable pain in the a** so my answer is No i'm not a foodie.
To me it's obvious civet smells bad; that's why i "hate" Ungaro II and Jicky, for example.
Lomani Ab Platinum - Terre d' Hermes edt vintage
Akthar Noir - Drakkar Noir vintage
No you're not :D
Not in any especial order:
Eau de Rochas pour Homme
Terre d' Hermes (vtg)
Armani Eau Pour Homme (vyg)
Hugo Boss Energise
Monsieur de Givenchy (vtg)
That's the one boozy fragrance i have worn, i guess. Also Ungaro III has a vodka note
Armani Eau de Nuit
Armani Eau Pour Homme
Hugo Boss Energise
Eau de Rochas Pour Homme
Van Cleef & Arpels Pour Homme
Narciso Rodriguez For Him
dsquared HeWood Rocky Mountain Wood
Cdg 2 man>Wonderwood>Wonderoud
More than any of those i like dsquared HeWood Rocky Mountain Wood. In fact i love it.
I've never faced that. At work, most men are wearing some cologne. I think this is no issue in cities but might be in some smaller ("redneck") places.... or workplaces. Instead i have faced people...
Van Cleef & Arpels Ph
Rocky Mountain Wood is just awesome.
Thanks hednic! Couldn't yet resist but ordered that half-round shaped bottle for a backup bottle. Will see then.
I like the scent but was wondering what to expect of the older version (this kind of half-round bottle, see below). Is it different from the current, latest version?
A BN member Andre Moreau has a remarkable knowledge about vintage fragrances/formulations, he might be able to help.
It's easier if you just look at the front side of the bottle, there text Zino Davidoff, if in block letters, it's the new version, if "calligraphy lettering" -> vintage
I agree on this. The new version can sure be recognized as a attempt to recreate the PPH, i believe they really tried their best with today's "raw materials". Personally I will continue to wear, and...
Don't know where it comes from but to me Gucci Envy For Men or Carven Homme.
I know many women who really don't like men to be groomed but hairy or at least wear stubbly beard, and personally I don't believe many woman really could like this powdery, old-lady-purse-smelling...
Imo the one crusial thing in a religion is a god, or at least somebody/something to worship. Who would that be? :)
Hugo Boss Hugo Energise
dsquared He Wood Rocky Mountain Wood
Trussardi A Way For Him
Will give away for actual postal costs+paypal fee the following bottles:
Ralph Lauren Polo Explorer 30 ML edt
Perry Ellis Red 360 dg 30 ML edt
OR Black Aftershave 50 ML
Burberry London would be my choice. But i'm not 20
Frederic Malle Musc Ravageur
Creed Bois du Portugal .................................. +
Creed Virgin Island Water
Creed Original Santal
Creed Erolfa ....
Agree on this.
I like both, in my opinion, yes, different enough to have both.
I like Heritage a little bit more. I haven't tried any other "incarnation" but vintage Heritage from the 90's.
Both are great...
That's my story as well.
I came back to report that my blind bought bottle of AB Silver Spirit arrived today. What a pleasant surprise! The opening was much better than the Aventus one. (that is, not so loud...
I like it but don't wear it on summer. Usually 2 sprays only. The animalic note is on the limit for me, that is, if it were a bit quieter it was even more favourite for me. As a whole, it's an...
Idole de Lubin
Terre d'Hermes Parfum
Try Narciso Rodriguez for Him
Thanks mate then i think i can quote petruccijc:
Could anyone please comment on Ab silver lomani; does it have less intense pineapple note than Aventus? Didn't like Aventus because of the too much pineapple and also it smelled a little...
Does guilty pleasure mean it should be a women's fragrance for a man? Or what? I guess it's not a thing to feel guilty about.
VC&A ph is a clear winner in my book. Don't have Oscar de la renta pour lui and don't like it (it's vintage in 80's was OK)
Autumn is "my" season and not only fragrance-wise....
Next come winter, summer and least favourite is spring.
I haven't got any special favourite for Autumn but the citrus fragrances and...
He Wood Rocky Mountain Wood
Only womens fragrance i wear is Eau de Rochas (vtg). Often layer it with the mens version (Eau de Rochas pour Homme)
Do it man, a full wearing and report back then how was the reaction at the office :D hehe
Really enjoyed, Nice idea and well written, i read through every vintage fragrance you had put there, thanks !
Don't like either one but if i had to choose it would be Lyric.
Personally i like more Kouros Fraicheur especially in hot weather. If i'd wear vintage Kouros itself in hot climate/weather it would be like 1-2 drops to the chest under the t-shirt and maybe...
YSL Live Jazz
Reflets d'Eau Rochas Homme
Eau de Rochas Homme
Of those i have smelled, Visit is closest. (I prefer it to Rush.)
Most disgusting ones i have smelled:
1st place: Cacharel Pour Homme
Other disgusting smells:
Paco Rabanne ph
Just tried today first time my new Prada Amber Homme shower gel ; very rich and great smell, definetely a quality shower gel.
Reflets d'eau Rochas Homme
Terre d'Hermes EDT vintage
Alfred Sung Homme
Jennica Fleur de Nacre (A creation of Nicolas Mamounas for Jennica in 1985)
Must honestly say that though never tried single one of this line, i have very strong prejudices and suspicions about this particular brand and especially it's value for money.
A small update: My bottle arrived today. The bottle itself is very nice looking: like the Eau de Rochas Homme bottle but with eye-pleasing green hue. It evokes an image of summery, fresh,...
Do i remember correct that Vol De Nuit is often regarded as a melancholic scent, or one that evokes melancholy? I might have a sample vial somewhere.
The best for me is easy to answer, it's Macassar (1980)
Then there's a bunch of good ones ; the 80's was THE decade of fragrances, imo.
L'ombre dans l'eau
Armani Eau Pour...
Didn't like it, it's too weak and the spices/aromes didn't click at all, so i will pass this one. IMO Armani Eau Pour Homme is much better in its every incarnation and formulation, also Armani Eau...
I like the 1st and 2nd on your list. In He Wood series the Rocky Mountain Wood is my fav but Ocean is not bad either.
Didn't make it a poll but what's your personal preference of those 3 choices? Or what's your personal rating as x>y>z "pattern" ? :)
Referring to the older BN threads i think i'll take it...
Armani Eau Pour Homme
Can anybody say does it have any similarities to Eau de Rochas (pour) Homme? Is this one (Reflets d'eau Rochas Homme) much fruitier? What about longevity? Thanks.
It's widely available in eBay but wow, the prices seem to have gone up like a rocket, really. I remember buying my 50 ml bottle for 35 € last summer.
Thanks Hednic, great to hear that. Being a fan of most Rochas scents, I think i'll blind buy a bottle to my collection. A woody aromatic: the citrus top - violet heart - woody base sounds great.
I know there are a couple of old threads about this limited edition Rochas fragrance launched in 2006, but unfortunately very little information nor opinions or reviews about it. Anyway, became...
According to Checkcosmetic.net the manufacturing date is 3 of April, 2014 for that batch code 40921. My guess is it's authentic but reformulated being so new batch.
For being sure, I'd recommend...
Gucci Rush. It's discontinued but still available. IMO Visit is a better of these two though.
Nicos Sculpture Homme is a bit similar.
EdP, no doubt about that. Better and more masculine.
2011 seems to be the year quite many fragrances has been reformulated. Apparently due to the IFRA regulations often mentioned here.
Several ones; Ungaro III, Van Ceef & Arpels PH, Prada Amber PH, Memoir Man, Narciso Rodriguez for Him etc.
If Dior makes a fragrance for men, then it will be masculine. Same can't be said about most niche fragrances.
I've got 2 in my collection that i feel fits in : Van Cleef & Arpels PH and Antaeus, both vintage. Secondly, but not as well as the two first mentioned, Macassar, Salvador Dali PH (vintage) and...
Possibly the batch is older, yet (?) - though purchased in 2012. Would you kindly check the batch code? Five numbers carved in the side of the sprayer under the cap. (small numbers)
I tend to believe that there has been a reformulation. My story is shortly put this: I have 2 bottles, older one is manufactured/bottled in 2009 and newer from 24 of September, 2011 (batch code...
I just want to know.
Was trying to search information about this but didn't find a real answer.... Has it been reformulated and if yes, when? (approximately)?
Is it same as usual that the older juice is better? Thanks.

Some of those i have rated 2 stars frags.. maybe One Man Show by Bogart or Jazz Prestige. Both smell nauseuous to me.
I second hednic's suggestion.
A little bit similar fragrance is Armani Eau de Nuit. IMO it's a bit more masculine.
1 million (original) is a good, pleasant, versatile scent, if sprayed just one spray it is suitable even to church imo. It's so strong that it gets easily overdone, and when overdone it's cloyingly...
