Welcome back Gupts!
You should post this in the "Fragrances Wanted" forum - http://www.basenotes.net/forums/31-Fragrances-Wanted
Creeds usually aren't wrapped in cellophane. Post a pic of the bottle - also take the cap and sprayer off the bottle (so we can see the stem).
If someone reports that this juice has some "oomph" and strength I'm blind buying!!! I'm a sucker for strong ouds - especially at $50!
Looking forward to hearing more!
Looking to swap for or purchase Barari by Misk Al Nukhbah. PM me if you have this available!
The following are for sale (NO SWAP OFFERS PLEASE):
Xerjoff 1861, 3.4 oz. with cap and box (about 30% full) - SOLD
Lattafa Perfumes Ameer Al Oudh, 3.4 oz. with cap and box (98% full) - SOLD...
The following are for swap:
YSL Rive Gauche Pour Homme (vintage) - 4.2 oz. with cap and box (95% full)
Lattafa Perfumes Ameer Al Oudh - 3.4 oz. with cap and box (98% full)
What was the name of it Pasxos? I'd be interested too.
I usually don't believe in the Creed clone hype but I just received a bottle of Intense Black. On my skin it's 90% Royal Oud. Intense Black is a small bit sweeter but lasts much longer on my skin...
One of my best friends came to visit me in Atlanta last year. He had plans to meet up with his ex-girlfriend for lunch and wanted a spritz of something from my collection. I had a bottle of Montale...
Agree with hedonist - nothing but patchouli to me as well. It's Rich, but no wood...
It does. I have one - it also has Tester written on the side of the bottle.
DEFINITELY Ducati for Men.
It's real. I've had a By Man bottle scratched up just like that. Two ways you can tell if your By Man is a fake - #1) - I've NEVER seen a faked 50ml bottle. The 100ml bottle is the one always...
The top note of Insurrection Pure is somewhat similar to Aventus but give it about 30 minutes and it finishes up with a sweet, musky and non-descript drydown with a small of fruitiness. Hey, I'm all...
Appreciate it Beck - I can always depend on you to keep it real.
If longevity and sillage were better #30 would be a five star fragrance.
Between MI and VIW I'd go MI. I love how natural smelling VIW is but it's so feminine to my nose. I had a decant and gave it to my sister. You need to check out Xerjoff 1861.
Tauer L'air du Desert Marocain, Neela Vermeire Trayee, Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan and Amouage Interlude Man would probably be right up your alley.
You can find reviews about all of these in the Basenotes directory - http://www.basenotes.net/fragrancedirectory/
When I first tried #30 I immediately understood why I read nothing but positive reviews. #17 snuck up on me - all I got was a nondescript smell of alcohol when I sprayed it on. #17 really unfolds...
Got my bottles today. The packaging and display box are very quality. IMHO #30 is the standout of the trio - excellent citrus. However, I REALLY enjoy the smoky gourmandish drydown of #17. I am...
Looking forward to receiving 1, 17 and 30. Betting that I love 30.
Just return it to Perfumania and go buy it at Sephora or Macy's.
Opus Oils Mother (EDP version)
You're a lucky guy because I get extremely limited longevity and projection from Royal Oud. If I could find a fragrance that smells exactly like it that lasts I'd buy it immediately. I have oily...
Definitely looking forward to some initial impressions!
I was about to say the same thing JH! If you think the 100ml bottles are small then you should see the 50ml - they are tiny.
Guys, that is a legit bottle of Royal Water. It's just an older bottle - Royal Water was repackaged a few years ago (I think the same time Creed stopped producing Millesime Imperial with the all...
LOL! You weren't kidding Christian M!
Way too sweet and feminine. I still give it a 5 because it's extremely rich and long-lasting.
I don't get any similarity between By Man and Platinum Egoiste. I'll also say that By Woman is a fantastic fragrance and extremely unisex. I have By Man and By Woman and I'm starting to enjoy By...
I've only seen the 1 oz. size in the By Man gift set. Never seen it individually packaged.
1. Smell Bent Commando EDT
2. Byredo M/Mink
3. Bal de Versailles EDC
Glad you love it Earl! Or Black is some sinister stuff (especially the vintage version). Enjoy.
Gendarme 20 - the ultimate workplace fragrance.
Where can this be purchased?
Not a fan of the Patou Pour Homme aftershave. It's not nearly as good as the EDT. I really like the spicy hot pepper topnotes of PPH edt but the aftershave doesn't possess this. However, $60...
Mona di Orio Cuir
EXTREMELY sweet and feminine. Gave it to my girlfriend and she loves it.
Buy it directly from Thierry Mugler for $88 shipped - http://www.muglerstoreusa.com/A*Men-Pure-Malt/M020101011,en_US,pd.html?start=13
TheBeck, we're going to miss your knowledge! I respect your opinion and taste like no one else here. Good luck in the next phase of your life my man.
Drseid, you are reading my mind. My first thought when I sampled Bois d'Ascese was "this is a wearable version of MdO Cuir!".
Got my samples yesterday. Does Bois d'Ascese remind anyone else of Mona di Orio's Cuir? Not quite as smoky as Cuir but somewhat similar.
I've tried samples of both of these. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! The top notes are nice but both have extremely cheap-smelling, white musk drydowns. Awful. I truly believe that the guys on youtube...
Homme is nice but Scent Intense is the best from this house.
I own 24 Gold as well and it's an extremely quality gourmand. My gripe is that a juice as good as this would get even more hype if the packaging wasn't so awful.
I wish they would improve the bottle design. Extremely cheap looking.
IB is way too quiet and understated for its price. If I'm looking for a fresh fougere Alexa Lixfeld 003 is so much better and stronger.
Alexa Lixfeld 003
1. Patou Pour Homme
2. Hermes Bel Ami (vintage)
3. Guerlain Derby (vintage Eagle bottle)
4. Etienne Aigner Superfragrance for Men
5. Ted Lapidus Pour Homme (vintage red bottle)
Sample my friend. And there are SO MANY other houses worthy of exploring other and IMO better than Creed (i.e. Tauer, Amouage, CDG, Xerjoff just to name a few).
Sycomore by far. It's so multifunctional and distinct. I live in Atlanta and have no reservations wearing Sycomore in the summer heat. For such a strong fragrance, the vetiver in Sycomore is...
Definitely not worth $300 IMO. I get a sweet baby power vibe from it. Get Kristiansand NY EDP and save $240.
Got my bottle today too. I'm surprised at how well done this is. I sprayed it on a couple of hours ago and it's still going strong. Definitely a leather for the non-leather lover. Sort of like a...
For the Fahrenheit lovers, bid quick LOL - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Giant-Rarity-Big-Fahrenheit-Edt-by-Christian-Dior-Collection-with-187-Bottle-/110893470426?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19d1c412da
Why isn't Harrods Oud on the list? Easily Bond No. 9's best.
CDG Soda and Neil Morris Takashimaya
ScentMonkey is legit but make sure you call before you order online to make sure the product is in stock. They have a habit of still showing an item in stock on their website when it is actually out...
$160 for a 4 oz. bottle of OV is not a steal. This is a steal - http://www.scentmonkey.com/product.php?code=M-T-1206
Totally agree - I see nothing subtle about Leather Oud. Extremely skanky to me.
EXACTLY!!! This is what kills Wall Street for me. I get an extremely fishy/seaweed vibe at the bottom. Turns my stomach.
I would love Creed Royal Oud if it had more longevity and sillage. It starts great on my skin and dies to a whisper within two hours. The top notes are fantastic though.
Not trying to be a prick, but it's XERJOFF.
Scent Bar (aka Luckyscent.com - http://www.luckyscent.com/scentbar/). This is THE PLACE to go to in LA.
Gendarme EDP and Puro Lino (if you can find it)
What type of fragrance are you looking for? My favorites from Xerjoff are Modoc, Richwood, Kobe, Nio, 1861 and Regio. Uden and Mefisto are popular but aren't very original IMO. If you love leather...
Got a large sample of this today. It is spicy, smokey, and a little sweet. It's not a literal interpretation of leather like TF Tuscan Leather. Extremely sexy with terrific longevity and solid...
I think Royal Oud would get more love on Basenotes if it had been named Royal Spices. I'm sorry, but I barely perceive any oud in it. I don't get great projection or longevity but the top notes...
Patou Pour Homme Prive' EDT
Neil Morris Takashimaya
My advice is to upload a new review at least once a week. Also, try to discuss fragrances that everyone on Youtube hasn't already reviewed. Another Pure Malt, Aventus, or Dior Homme Intense review...
I swam competitively when I was a kid and VT has a chlorine-swimming pool note on my skin that makes me queasy. Great to own for reference purposes but there's no way I would wear it.
One of these questions has to be "Is my fragrance a fake?". I don't know why, but the frequency of this being asked just gets on my nerves. There should be a "Is My Fragrance a Fake?" subforum...
It reminds me of Annick Goutal's Eau d' Hadrien - but with much more longevity.
Congrats man. You should be very proud of yourself - I'm glad that our hobby/obsession has helped you win your personal battle.
I have a great feeling about this blind buy!
Sorry, I don't see any relation between Aramis and VT. However, a fellow Basenoter pointed out that VT and Feuille Verte share some similarities (with him referring to FV as a greener VT). I can...
HA HA. PM me if you have any issues.
LOL! These type of stores are just shameless.
Great advice. What's funny (and sad) is the SA's probably sell gallons of this off-brand junk.
