+1 Fahrenheit. Classic that you gotta try. I have the current version and love it.

+1 Fahrenheit. Classic that you gotta try. I have the current version and love it.
I use the wardrobe feature and like to peek at other's wardrobes once in a while. It's a very useful feature.
I'm wearing Hanae Mori H.M EDT today. Pretty low key citrus opening and after about 2-3 hours some major floral zing kicks in. Reminds me of Lolita Lampicka, but that was a while ago. Anyways, I'm...
Thanks for the insight. I'll have to do some experiments of my own this summer. Pure Havanne will be one of my first tries in the heat :-)
Welcome Lee. I look forward to seeing your posts..
+1 Fahrenheit. Classic, masculine, never fails to impress me.
I hate it when I'm in love with a new fragrance and my wife says "what is that s$&t? - smells like old men's feet"
Same here. I think this is a weird exception. I think FragranceNet is a good site.
Any in particular that you'd recommend?
So many great suggestions. I'm excited to try.. Thanks
Thanks for all the suggestions - it's gonna be fun trying them :-)
I really like the One Million - like bubble gum note in Spice Bomb, and that it gets more complex / mature.
Could you recommend any other scents more mature than One Million but that have that fun...
Fleur du Male
One Man Show
I'm sampling a lot of Patchoulis but no final conclusions..
I'm wearing Nicoloai Patchouli Intense (formerly Homme?) today and I'm in the harsh beginning to middle that was great the first wearing and now on second wearing it's a major challenge. Do I love...
Yes, I love Lapidus PH. Classic powerhouse, very manly with nice patchouili in the drydown. Perfect for the weekend.
+1 Chinatown. I want to buy eventually because it's so special and I love the look of the bottle.
Also Fleur du Male: Sold as a masculine but has a "guilty pleasure" quality that I love. I can...
I think it works great all year round, but if pressed I'd say summer - nice to sweat with some Fahrenheit on..
+1 CK One Shock
-1 Zino: This one can be very overwhelming. I regretted my blind buy of this one.
I love it all the way through but I'm especially fond of the woody drydown. It's definitely a powerhouse, taking no prisoners even after 10+ hours.
Thanks. Trying Nicolai Patchouli Intense today. Really nice stuff. Some florals and leather and I'm thinking a bit of a Guerlain-like feel. I'm very impressed.
I’m trying Mistral Patchouli today, and it’s pretty nice and maybe too lightweight for me. It’s citrusy and fresh, with some patchouli, but the patch must be processed in a different way because...
I blind bought it and I have moments of love, but it's just too overpowering. One spray and when the drydown hits it's blaring like crazy. It doesn't help that my wife finds it too loud too. I'm...
Thanks for all the tips. I'm looking forward to sampling some of these..
Would that be the regular or intense version?
Thanks for all the suggestions so far. Any more (designer or niche) that have a interesting non-patch start but nice patch at the end?
I've been trying some patchouli-focused niche scents like Patchouli Leaves and Patchouli Patch. They're nice but sometimes patchouli is best as a reward at the end of the day. Do you have any...
Maybe too simple, but Old Spice original deoderant (not anti persperant) is good and doesn't interfere with my colognes.
Don't forget the brutha from a different mother Jaipur PH EDT.
For the US: Aramis Tuscany, renamed to Aramis USA
I bought SB fairly recently and just one spray from the bottle is too much. The key to this scent for me is to calibrate the application. I went back to the sample - one spray to the chest, one to...
+1 Bogart Pour Homme
After one wear, I found the startup to be a little too heavy for me. The drydown was blissful though, even into the next day. Seems like it'd be best for fall/winter.
I also bought this blind about a year ago and it was too much for me. I'm going to give it another try - thanks for the inspiration.
Nice Story! I have a sample of Bleecker St waiting for me. I think tomorrow's the day..
Sure. Probably have to be a couple beers in, a nice day, and as a previous poster said, some ok eye contact. What the hell..
Ok, I'm gonna go check out Happy for Men. Sounds like fun :-)
Fleur du Male - Makes me happy every time. It's like a guilty pleasure - something that feels like it's just for me.
But they're perfect for work days with lots of meetings. And good enough to keep it interesting,
I cant think of anything on the masculine side. I'd say Polo is as close as it gets. I have distinct memories and emotions about Polo that no other scent rivals. And these experiences came before my...
What samples I haven't tried, and then weather and intuition.
I bought my own Sung bottle blind a few months back. After a couple of wearings I'm still not sure on this one. Doesn't help that my wife doesn't dig it. I'm not giving up yet. We shall see. On...
That's interesting, the comparison between Yatagan and Devin. I own Yatagan and will wear it soon and keep it in mind. Thanks for the tip..
I'd be interested to know how it is for you now..
I'm wearing this today for the first time. I love it so much! I'm in the drydown now and am marinating in coconut/vanilla joy.
I decanted it to get a smaller spray, but it doesn't seem to be such...
I'd like to smell One Million on others but can't endure it myself.
I've never used it, but the above is how I would and will now that I know about it. I'm too much of a control freak to totally commit to it..
My catch-alls are for anytime, anyplace:
I like it. Nuff said.
Yeah, one spray on the chest of Chergui was too much, but two dabs on the chest and one on the neck is perfectamundo.
I'm wearing Devin for the first time today and loving it. It's reminding me of 1-12 with its unrelenting green character. I'm sure there are differences but they're both old school green and...
Thanks for the tip. I didn't know of the Original Santal similarity or that Pierre Bourdon made it. I might doing a BB of my own :-)
I have about 40 bottles now. There are couple, like Zino and Sung, that I'll probably get rid of. Besides that, I'm trying to sample more and actually use the samples I like a bit more before...
Thanks for the good reviews. Of course it's all subjective and I have different takes on a couple. I gotta try Aramis Havana, and I'll crack open my Devin sample tomorrow (thx for the inspiration!).
As long as the seller rating is around 99% positive, you should be fine. I've done it multiple times with no problems.
I work in a mostly-male office. I wear it for myself and keep it low key in general, and I save my heavy stuff for the weekends.
You should be fine if you keep it subtle. And Krooze nailed it...
I've preferred spraying for ease of use and reduced contact with my hands. But I've found recently that dabbing is the only way to get the right dose with some scents, e.g. Vtg Bijan and Chergui.
Fleur du Male
What the hell, of course it changes
You might want to try Aqua di Parma Assoluta (I see you have Colonia). Really nice citrus front end and a fougere-like drydown.
Thanks for all the great stories. I love Kouros but have to sneak it in on day hikes and such since my wife hates it..
Yeah, thanks for bringing that visual into my head. Great movie..
I agree about Boss Bottled. I have my first small bottle coming. It's going to be perfect for work, especially in cooler weather.
I also own L'Homme and I think they're different enough to own...
You slayed me with that one - too funny!
Wow', nice post Buzzlepuff. I didn't know about the scented leather gloves thing - very interesting.
My top Bourdons:
GIT (ok, maybe not just him)
Tried, like but not...
Is this one of those a/s/l? U wanna cyber? threads? j/k
You crazy! I bad to look up a/s/l. What a fun thread. I really got a kick reading about y'alls clothes. Sort of like "The...
No work today, so navy Lands End T-shirt, relaxed fit lightweight LL Bean Khakis, running shoes, chammy shirt (grey), GIT.
Nicely put. But what about the guy who likes some designers and some niche - I'd say he's fair game :-)
Purchased apx 1995
Finished apx 2000
That'll probably be my first and last
Scents I'll wear anywhere, including meetings at work:
It's funny that you mention Esencia Lowe. I just got a sample of it. Now I'm definitely going to try it tomorrow! Thanks for the reminder :-)
I just blind bought this yesterday on the web. I couldn't resist given all the powerhouse love this gets. AZTEC, I loved your description. Should be fun!
I'm wearing 1 12 today. It is really growing on me! My first wear, the Galbanum turned me off - sort of a meaty green. Today it is heaven - feels like I could easily wear it to work. Nice old school...
Congrats on the Charles St. My wife bought it for me too a few years back. Really nice winter work scent and beautiful drydown..
I hear you. I like the Moreish post above. BaseNotes can be a bad influence. I've got enough bottles and samples to keep me occupied, but then I'll hear about something new and I'll be jumping...
Thanks for the recommendations, and everyone for the great input.
I tried TF Patchouli Absolu the other day, and it was dark, overpowering, and depressing for me. It lightened in the drydown, but not enough to rescue it. I took off my shirt when doing some work,...
OMG I'm still laughing as I type. Nice one ..
The last time I wore Jaipur, I read that it was created by Annick Menardo, who also did Body Kouros and Lolita Au Masculin. Those other two are too shrill in the drydown for me, and it influenced my...
I happen to have a sample of Spice and Woods on the way. It's on the top of folks' favorite Creed lists, so I had to try
Thanks for the tip. Do you have a preferred RSS reader?
Really nice start and middle. Too strong at the end and I have to scrub. But I'll always have a decant for that beautiful wood which is similar to the Egoiste drydown.
Yes, I've bought multiple times. Good price, product, and delivery time.
"Chanel Antaeus as a 80's powerhouse representative"
Yeah, I was thinking powerhouse too, and I know Antaeus is popular here, but I'd go with VCA PH.
Ok, I'll answer my own question. Using safari against the BN website is better to me than Tapatalk (current version) or Forum Runner. I didn't find any other alternatives. It's clunky with Safari,...
It'd be better for outdoor activities. I love to wear it on the trail..
I blind bought EN a few months ago. I'm on the fence as to whether it was worth it. It's pretty cold-hearted but interesting. The basenotes are absolutely wonderful and it smells great the next...
+1 Pure Havane
I hear you brutha
Does anyone have a forum reader suggestion for an alternative to TapaTalk and Forum Runner?
I just upgraded TapaTalk and the new version is horrendous. Forum Runner isn't any better. I'm using an...
Art - pretty low key and stuff we can afford.
Patchouli 24 is a rough one. I thiught it was interesting at first, but I either scrubbed it off or barely survived. I might sample again if I'm in need of some self-abuse.
Wow, I didn't know Z-14 (which I love) was by the same guy. I will check out EL Private Collection - looks interesting. Thanks for the tip!
GIT because it's such a masterpiece for me. MI is really nice but not as awe inspiring.
What a great wear of Y today. I'm back to my original enthusiasm. No sharp edges and pure enjoyment. I think this is a winter scent for me. My last rough experience with this was in warmer summer...
I give myself an A, just because my collection reflects my journey and I only have a couple I'll probably discard. I don't think of myself as a collector, but I sure do love to purchase new finds..
That Interlude Man looks so good on my wardrobe now! It will smell even better tomorrow..
Wearing today. The geranium about 3 hours in is devine. It's almost a fresh scent at this point, but the beast is hiding :-)
I love F 32. It has a guilty pleasure feel to it. I got it at Sephora and I saw it there recently.
Ok, Mike, I'm in for some Y tomorrow too..
I'm just catching on to seasonal wearing after initially thinking I'd wear anything anytime. A couple of crossovers for me:
Sycomore (another vetiver)
