Police for me currently.

These are my current sunglasses which were originally bought for snowboarding which has the rule of "the more flash and weird...the better". Although I am hoping to buy either a pair of Wayfarers or Aviators for my upcoming holiday.

I have the same exact pair. The only difference is mine are dark gray, not white.

I love sunglasses. I've had my share of mildly expensive pairs, like Oakley and RayBans, and I've also had pairs of dirt cheap ones to throw around willy nilly. In all honesty though, my most versatile, trusted shades are from a company called Knockaround. They're classically styled, reasonably priced, and, overall, decent shades, but don't expect the perks of a huge designer name (not necesarilly a negative). The guy that designs them is really good with customer service, and the lifestyle portrayed through his work is something I feel connected to.

You can check them out here http://www.knockaround.com/ if you're interested.

I would consider getting a nice pair of sunglasses but I hardly wear the ones I've got, because I never have a clue what to do with them once I set foot inside somewhere that isn't my house or my car.

They won't fit in my pants pocket, hanging them from my shirt collar looks naff, and putting them atop my head is just plain ridiculous. Usually, I end up carrying them around in my hand and feeling like a...well never mind.

No one else I know is especially bothered by this but it drives me nuts and I refuse to accept that this is how things must be.

rayban aviators. classic and timeless
I just lost my Ray-Ban 3025 aviators.

Thinking of buying Tom Ford 207's to replace them.
I was in the same situation. Either the Ray-Ban 3025 or the Tom Ford. I went with the Ray Ban since I couldn't justify the Tom Ford's being double the cost and it being a very similar style.

But yeah ...

I was in a rut where I had a buy a pair of sunglasses (forgot mine and wasn't a good idea to be without them for the week it was so sunny) so I bought a pair of Ray Ban "New" Wayfarers. I'm actually surprised how much I love them. The original ones (I thought) looked ridiculous on me, but these are my new favorites.

for a wayfayer I prefer these (to the ICONic raybans):

super black havana

for aviators the recent Tom Ford Maximillion (brown) is my pick.

Linked up with these last week...

Ray Ban Cats 5000. I also have a pair of Fabris Lane I quite like.
Just got these

I have two pairs of sunglasses.

1. A cheap pair of brown Aviators. Darker and a bit different than these ones.

2. Raybans. A bit like these.

I also wouldn't mind having a pair of these bad boys. Based off the ones worn by Brad Pitt in fight club. But I would probably look like a Try Hard / douche bag if I wore these.

Anyway, still badass.

Currently, I own only a few affordable pairs of Kenvelo sunglasses, mostly aviator style too

Maui Jims FTW! Love mine....

I am a big fan of sunglasses. Can't have too many in your wardrobe. Not kidding about this, at any one time I have at least five different styles in my car, ranging from dark dark to clear, jeans wear to suit and tie. Be prepared.

Clear ones are really handy. Not only do they look cool, but they're great for keeping stuff out of your contact lenses when you're driving around with the windows down at dusk, or later. Check out clear Ray Bans. Very cool, appropriate for business, club wear, and lots of points in between.

I'm a big fan of Ray Bans. I own many pairs. Only caution: don't buy the ones that have thin wire side pieces (the part that goes from the lens to your ear), or they'll get bent in a short while, and you'll be mad that you spent so much money on such flimsy shades.

A great tip: the $10 sunglasses rack at Nordstrom. Their mirrored aviators are great. I get lots of compliments when I wear them. Sturdy, a great design. And yes, they were only $10. Can't beat it.

I've a pair of Oakley Flak Jackets. As an aspiring optometrist, I almost never go outside without sunglasses for UV protection.

And if I had bottomless pockets Id rawk Dita frames
post #211 of 286
Cutler and Gross are great! My brother lost my favourite pair of C and G sunglasses when he left them on a taxi roof... He borrowed mine because he lost his own in the produce section at the supermarket.

It's more than twenty years ago, but it still annoys me.

Thanks. I picked up the Grey Horn.

Dita is lovely. They sell out too quickly over here though .

That is frustrating!
They woulda been vintage by now.

Marni is nice but they make glasses for ladies only.

'Cool as' - Hedonist 222. I'll have to wait for my recently acquired Persols to age a bit before I check these out.

Nice frames, Hedonist. My favorite lines are at the moment are Oliver Peoples & Chrome Hearts. I'll post some photos when I have time to take a few.
Nice glasses!

Personally I buy cheapo sunglasses because I break my glasses with alarming regularity.

Ok, so these are one of the frames I'm currently into. Chrome Hearts - Straight Up 1. I got them last year and i've bought two other ones since. I have issues lol

Very becoming Futami.

Is that you? I'd love to know what lens and aperture was used.
Thanks, that is not me. Im more of a behind the camera kind of guy lol. It's a friend of mine I did some head shots for. We used some of my stuff (i.e. headphones and glasses, etc).

Nikon D700, f14 / 125, iso200, 24-85mm lens.
Very nice!
None. Not even sure if I ever had a pair.
Although the website hasn't been updated to reflect this option yet, WarbyParker.com will add tinted prescription lenses to any of their glasses for an extra $50. At this time, those orders need to be placed by phone.

Adding 7/31/12: Their site shows the availability of sunglasses now.
I brought sunglasses ugly because my face relations with them appear more rounded face.
Maui Jims with red lens and flexible frame
post #228 of 286
I would love Maui Jims but all of their lenses are too big for my face. If I could find a pair similar to my Ray Ban RB34014, I'd trade. I like the polarization of the MJs.

Can I send in my RBs to RB and get extra polarization for the lenses? I should call them.

There are two reasons that some people wear sunglasses for prevent eyes from dust.the other reason that some peoples wear sunglasses for better look.this was my thinking.

Cutler and Gross

Cheers mr. hedonist

I'm something of a Cutler & Gross junkie too - since Matsuda went the way of the dodo I have picked up a pair of C&G every year or so - quality stuff.

Serengeti Aviators Large

I have Ray-Ban Aviators too but they feel too flimsy and cheap, despite their popularity, to wear.
I don't wear shades that often. But I like aviators by Ray Bans. They are pretty cool.

Definitely a huge Oakley fan. Their lens technology is simply unbeatable. Also a pretty big fan of Ray-Ban, and I do own a pair of Spy's. I own about 6 or so pairs of designer/brand-name sunglasses, but the ones I wear most are my club masters.
