Polo Shirts and What

What's in with those polo shirts? I've seen the popped collars, double polos, long shirts under polos, and what not.

My question is more so, what do you wear under a polo? What color combinations work?

Thanks for your responses!

i am VERY against the popped collar look. same with double polos. nononono NO.

long sleeves under a polo can look good, depending on the person. i think the best look for polos is just a plain old polo. nothing fancy, nothing underneath. second best is to wear a tshirt underneath. grey polo with white t, blue polo with grey t, etc, would all work. i'd color coordinate them just like with anything else.

I endorse this.

I've been thinking about the question. This summer I wore a few different polos - Tommy H, Comme des Garcons Shirt and RL Polo. In each case I wore them alone (well with trousers of course!). Come the autumn and I do struggle with the polo. Can a long sleeve polo be successfully combined with a T shirt? Perhaps. How about worn under a v neck sweater? If the fabrics work together that can be OK.

At the end of the day, the polo started its life as a sports shirt, usually worn alone, and that is still how it works the best.

Bootcut jeans and a RL polo. Depending on the weather I wear a tshirt under (whens its cold) of a beater (when its hot)

As for the poped collar, I do it at parties and sometime when I feel like it. Ive worn two poped collers before, didn't turn out to bad
