Fruity scents for summer evenings

Thread Starter
I am looking for a scent with fruity notes...which is suitable for summer evenings, not too light with a good sillage. I think even younger girls often like scents which have a fruity note...

I like

D&G pH: has a nice lemon note which is not too strong

I don't like

D&G masculine: I think the lemon is sometimes too much, it smells sometimes synthetic >
L'eau par kenzo: with watermelon note, but I think its too light and has a bad sillage, better for daytime
Givenchy Very Irresistable: Definately fruity but I don't like....

Which scents for summer evenings do you like and which not...and why??

Diptyque - Philosykos

Silver Black / Onyx by Azzaro.
Definitely fruity, and i think it could work for summer evenings, though it's not a summer scent. Sillage is really decent, but it's nowhere in the league of A*men, Givenchy Pi, etc.

I've not well understood if actually you're looking into a fruity scent or a citrusy (I wouldn't consider a citrus smell fruity...)
However I'd like to suggest

Dior Higher: fresh notes, basil, pear
Hermes Jardin sur le nil: green mango and watery notes
Diptyque Philosykos: Fig leaves and fruits with a cedarwood base
Givenchy Eau torride: almost a watermelon juice
Herrera Chic: just a watermelon touch on a tobaccoish base
Paco Rabanne XS: fresh top with a watermelon touch on a woody base

If you can find it, Trussardi Jeans (for men) is about the fruitiest I've ever tried ...

Agatha Brown's Imperial Jade Emperor.

Quasar Jesus del Pozo

Mure et Musc and Pomegranate Noir are both great summer scents. They're not sweet and they're not citrusy, but they are fruity. There's something slightly dark about both of them too, which makes them very suitable for a summer evening.

Roger & Gallet's Bouquet Imperial is the ultimate, imo. I love this stuff to death.

Oh also, maybe try Polo Black, which is fruity and, um, comes in a bottle that looks badass.

(OMG I just found an instance in which to RECOMMEND Polo Black! I must get a prize for that!)

You may like Bond no. 9 Scent of Peace.
Black Currant and Grapefruit with a floral scent. Real great spring/summer scent

EVEN younger girls? Â*Â*Yeah, I would tend to agree. . . Â*

I'll post the ones I like and, Â*since you asked, Â*I'll say why.
Which not? Â*Naw, Â*that would take too much space.

5 stars:

1. Le Roy Soleil by Dali----------------------------Because it's great, Â*that's why. Â*See the reviews.
2. Laguna, also by Dali----------------------------Not Â*quite as great imo, Â*but still rocks. Â*Again see the reviews.
3. Nicole Miler for Men-----------------------------WOW!! Â* Good all year round, Â*btw.

Dropping down to 4 and 4 1/2 stars:

4. John Varvatos----------------------------------Because you'll get TONS of compliments.
5. Rocabar by Hermes--------------------------- Not as many as JV, Â*but it's bettter made--or more expensive. Â*:
6. Quasar by Jesus del Pozo---------------------Because it's a hoot!

and honorable mention:

Homme Nature by Yves Rocher-------------------Because it's cheap, Â*tres naturelle, Â*and fruit central
Marc Jacobs for Men--------------------------------Because it smells like a well blended Pina Colada

Have Fun!

Cheers,
Mario 8-)

Miller Harris - Tangerine Vert.

The new Guess Men isn't too bad, and you can get it cheaply at TJ Maxx. A great cheap summer scent!

MI is still the king, though.

I agree with Silver Black.

Nemo by Cacharel is fruity and extremely good

One more vote for Laguna Homme.

I love mango when it's teamed with vetiver or tomato leaves (those notes prevent the yucky "fruit cocktail" effect familiar from Escada summer stuff) so I would recommend L'Artisan Timbuktu and Annick Goutal Folavril.

Oh, I agree! I love the mango/vetiver-fusion in Timbuktu!

These are perfect summer, fruity scents:

- Un Jardin en Méditerranée by Hermès
- Un Jardin sur le Nil by Hermès
I rather like Eau de Cartier for summer evenings: yuzu top notes with amber basenotes. It's lovely.

I haven't tried it for a summer evening yet, but I think Pomegranate Noir might be suitable as long as the humidity is low enough: raspberry, plum, and of course, pomegranate combined with patchouli.
I'm going to recomend one of my new favorites.

Il Giardino by our own Michael Storer!

Cassis, grapefruit, begamot.
then you must try

XS Black Paco Rabanne
My votes would be for Reaction and Live Jazz. If by 'fruity' you include citrus, then you have many, many more choices.
Diptyque - Oyedo
Creed - M I
J Del Pozo - Quasar
Creed - Silver Mountain Water

Exactly. Â*To me, there are many Summertime scents out there... but there are few that are perfect for Summer Nights. Â*XS Black is one of them. Â*Strawberries, all the way through. Â* 8-)

Well what about Escape for men? very fruity and fresh
and i agree with chic for men but i don't find it very light for summer
and also lapidus's Excited
CK's obsession night for men!
and don't hit me...: paris hilton for men!
I gotta say Rykiel Homme is a great summer fragrance. It has a nice fruity woody combo that is perfect for a summer night.
There was Villoresi scent called Tropicali or Tropicana that was pretty fruity. But that's out of production.

While Black XS is a pretty safe bet, it seems a bit heavy and powdery for high temperatures.

I say go with that or KC Reaction. They're both pretty cheap, unlike a lot of the high-end frags suggested. And younger girls like the Reaction. Fruity and light.

Polo Black - Mango
Baldessarini
Black XS - Strawberries
Philosykos - Fig
A few recommendations:

Millésime Impérial by Creed
l'Eau de l'Artisan by l'Artisan Parfumeur
Vettiveru by Comme des Garçons
Premier Figueur by l'Artisan Parfumeur

but the best of the best remains Philosykos by Diptyque, it doesn't just smell like sitting under a fig tree somewhere in South Italy, it really takes you there!

Is it too late for me to add Live Jazz?

I just received this yesterday - actually as the result of a mix-up - I ordered Jazz and they sent me the 'Live' version by mistake. I'd tried it on my hand before and not really liked it. I tried it again yesterday on the neck and loved it!

The combination of mint (not a fruit I know!), lemon and rhubarb works really well in warmer weather (I was out in the evening mowing the lawn in the sunshine and it worked so well in that context). It also smells 'Creed-like' in some way, whether that's the ambergris, the general sourness I associate with a lot of their fragrances or something else I don't know.
