PdN NY & BdP

Thread Starter
I recently had the opportunity to sample NY by PdN. It seems to me that it is a tamer (read not as harsh) version of BdP. Spices akin to those show up in BdP, something similar to "Green Woods" note in BdP over Vanilla base. (I must admit that BdP is much more powdery). Although I have never been a fan of BdP (in fact I kinda dislike it), NY seems to be a much better concoction. Am I the only one who smells a connection?

I believe you are correct. They are very similar, but dis-similar at the same time.

I agree with the connection and believe there is also a slight connection with Divine L'Homme Sage as well to these 2.

Absolutely! That was my impression. However, IMHO in the drydown BdP is more spicy while New York is leathery. Also, my feeling is that there is some cypress in BdP but I'm not sure.

I also agree...the 1st hr all I thought of was "this reminds me of BdP"

True. No sharp topnotes and not as dry as Bois du Port. Two differend scents, with the same drydown.

They are two similar fragrances, but with enough differences to make
both worth owning. Both are excellent.
