Out of thin air, I was thinking about Aramis today when wearing another scent from 1965 (Habit Rouge). A while back, my Mom told me that when she was with some boyfriends in the Seventies, she nearly fell into love with one that wore Aramis.
Since I don't have any chypres in my collection, and I can't tolerate Kouros, I was wondering if I might want to give it a try. But first, I need to know your opinions on this classic before I head for the tester. Yeah, I know that it's potent, but how would you describe Aramis? Is it a smooth chypre, or one that feels like 180-grit sandpaper on yoiur nose? Is it modern or old-school?
I'd love to know more!
