GF ferre lui similiar to Rive gauche??

Hi guys,

yesterday I visited Douglas(I am from Germany) and asked a nice female assistant what fragrance would be similar to Rive gauche pour homme. She thought for a while, then she gave me

Gianfranco Ferré: GF Ferré Lui / Him

It smelled quite nice...does anybody know this frag? Do you think it is a good alternative to RG??

Which frags do you think are similar to RG? Or do you think RG is the king and there is nothing beneath it??

I already know:

Versace Black Jeans (which is quite good in my opinion)
Gucci pour homme and envy (both are too woody and they smell too old for me)
Azzaro Visit (its not bad, but I think toooo spicy it is not so deep as Rive gauche)

Ok the frag should be quite modern (I am 23 years old), sexy, a good evening frag and it should habe a good staying power and sillage.....

For you, I recommenr L'Instant or Burberry Brit.

and Envy's drydown is certainly not "woody"... It's a very smooth vanilla that women love.

I liked GF Lui, I got a sample of it. But, I think it was a litte too aromatic for me and it reminds me of a fragrance that I used to wear a long time ago, similar in its aromatic/spicy mixture, but I just can't think of the name.

On the other hand, RG, is sweet/powdery/fresh/deep.

What do you think of Guerlain L'instant pour homme?

Do you think it fits in the same category....

I tested it today, its not bad, but versatile for a 23 year old guy?? :-?

L'Instant, I liked it but I don't know if I'll wear it. It's very sophisticated and classy. I don't know if I can get away with wearing L'Instant everyday at the office. Actually when I tried it, I was with my girl friends and I asked them what they thought of it, they told me that it smelled like their father.

You might want to try Boss Elements Aqua or Body Kouros.
