suggestions please: xs & lanvin lh

i am presently in love with xs & lanvin l'homme and was wondering if i could trouble the fellas for some suggestions of similar scents.

i don't particularly enjoy citrus dominated scents so these two are great alternatives for everyday, but not every man, light business frags.

my head tells me that i have plenty of smells and should be satisfied with what i've got, but that damned compulsive nature of mine wont let me rest just yet. so, hit me with some suggestions and further perpetuate this addict's habit. ;D

BTW: what category would these two fall in, just for future reference?

I'd say they're citrussy orientals.

Try:
L'Instant Pour Homme
Burberry Brit
D&G Pour Homme

Both of these are favorites of mine, too. They are both classified by osMoz as Woody Floral Musks. H & R Genealogy calls XS a fresh fougere and Lanvin L'Homme a fresh chypre.

They are both fresh and woody.

If you like these I can almost guarantee you will like Himalaya by Creed--a scent very similar to XS but it has the Creed notes in it as well.

Another one you might look into is Live Jazz by YSL.

I would suggest that you try Mechant Loup.
Caveat Emptor: It is expensive and it is not for everyone. 8-)

I also do think that Paco Rabanne XS is not even a bit citrussy. I would categorize it as a fresh fougere. However, with Lanvin L'Homme, citrus is present as well as lavender and some wood notes so I would think of it as a citrus chypre.

As for the similar scents, I find that Rochas Aquaman is quite similar to the Lanvin and Eternity to XS.

Not quite. XS was introduced in 1993. Himalaya was introduced in 2002. If there is a clone, it is Himalaya.

"Mackie" smells quite similar to XS. And believe it or not, but there's actually a cologne called "Beverly Hills 90210" that I have, which upon initial reaction, I found quite similar to Lanvin.

I'm not sure where you see the citrus in these two either.

The only thing similar to the strong lavender of Lanvin L'Homme is Azzaro's Pure Lavender. Alternatively, there's the citrusy lavender of Drakkar Noir (but it's a fougere like XS).

Other fresh citrusy chypres which may be in the same vein as what I think you are suggesting might include Weekend Burberry, Happy and Dune. Other citrusy fresh fougeres may similarly include Versace Green Jeans, Live Jazz and Hilfiger Athletics.

Exactly, that why I said some think it is a clone, not that it is a clone of Himalaya. Personally I didn't grasp Himalaya when I had it. I can't say I'm really into Minty-fresh types of frags right now.

Before I forget, Bath & Body Works - Mountain Frost is along the lines of XS, although at the prices you can get XS, Mountain Frost is relatively expensive.

I haven't tried XS Extreme, I wonder about that.
