3 Best Creeds

Thread Starter
Okay, Creed fans! Having never owned any Creeds (and only having sampled ONE spray of GIT, which I loved!), what, in your expert opinions, are the 3 MUST-OWN Creeds? I probably only have enough money now to afford only 2, but I MIGHT be persuaded to buy a 3rd someday.
In order:

*CREED GREEN IRISH TWEED
*CREED BOIS DE CEDRAT
*CREED NEW TABAROME

Honarable mention,

Silver Moutain Water
Taborame Milliseme
Bois Du Portugal

Millisime Imperial (excellent smell but I wish it had better longevity and sillage)
Bois Du Portugal
Himalaya
Skip GIT, it's dated, skip MI and SMW unless you like fruity.

Himalaya for sure, then Original Vetiver or New Tabarome since these are readily available at under $100 online. Those three are fundamental to me. Or you could go for vintage Creeds and pay top retail dollar.

Himalaya is what finally hooked me on Creed.

BdP may be very interesting but you will pay about as much for 1 oz of it as you will for a 4 oz jug of the others.
Which of the Creeds has the best longevity, ie parfum strength?
Thanks

Silver Moutain Water
Taborame Milliseme

Millesime Imperial
Silver Mountain Water
Himalaya - took a while for me to appreciate this one as it's quite involving

Special mention to GIT. I must be one of the only people on here that's not a fan of Bois Portugal or Acier Aluminium. Both too heady for me.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! Â*After careful consideration, I've gone ahead and ordered GIT and OV online (for a very good discount) and should have them both by the middle or end of next week.

I hope to purchase a 3rd Creed in a few months (most likely Bois du Portugal, based on recommendations, reviews, and the Frank Sinatra connection!), when my bank account recovers!! Â*[smiley=embarassed.gif]

GIT
HIMALAYA
BdP
I forgot all about Baie de Genievre. Tied w/Acier IMHO.
In order of 1st to 3rd place:

1) Bois du Portugal (simply the best)
2) Tabarome Millesime (reminds me of a DOCG red wine)
3) Acier Aluminium (very unconventional, and under-appreciated)

Runner-ups:
Green Irish Tweed (pleasant and well-crafted scent, if somewhat more "common" than other Creeds)
Millesime Imperial (fantastically fresh scent, though it is short on staying power)
1. GIT
2. Green Valley
3. New Tabarome

GIT is in no way dated! I have had more compliments from young, university chics than most people can relate. Is it me? Is it GIT? Its both! They specifically make mention to h ow beautiful I smell and want to know what it is I am wearing only to find out that they have never heard of it!

-GIT
-SMW
-NS

-OV
-MI

Out of all that I've sniffed, the only two Creeds I would recommend to anyone would be Bois du Portugal and Himalaya. Although MI, SMW, and GIT are all praised here, they really don't do it for me. Of course, as always, you must try them for yourself.

The one I haven't sniffed yet, but am eager to do is Tabarome.

Of the 4 Creeds that I own (GIT, OV, BdP, and HIM), my favorite thus far is Himalaya (with GIT a very close second).
You still need to try SMW and MI, and I'd think you'll like Erolfa as well.

I think GIT and OV are much safer blind buys than BDP. I was SO close to buying BDP blind, then one day I find myself at the Creed counter at Neiman Marcus and didn't like BDP at all. It's WAY too heady and overly masculine, and actually a bit stinky. New Tabarome is as well, IMHO.

I'd say buy a sample for $4 before you commit to $100+ for the whole bottle.

Of the four I've smelled and used GIT (but I sure don't like the initial sporty blast, yuck. the drydown though... yummy!), Tabaróme Millésime and Himalaya stands out. SMW and RW get low ratings from me. SMW has smelled good once, when the drydown was on.

of the creeds i've tried:

BdP
Vintage Tabarome
REL
Tabarome Millesime (if it lasted longer, it'd be higher on the list)

I have tried 8 samples/decants of different creed scents and I must say I am totally in shock by how little love Baie de Genièvre gets. Why does this creed scent seem to get no love?! I must admit it bugs me how little love this scent gets! If you haven't tried Baie de Genièvre yet, you are really missing out in my opinion

My top 3 of the ones I have sampled so far would be..

GIT (which I own a bottle of and seems to be the hands down favorite)
Baie de Genièvre (VERY close 2nd)
Bois de Portugal
Haven't tried many Creed scents, but there are two that stand out: GIT which is my SOTD and Original Santal. I found OS to be far too sweet in the beginning. It smelled very much like candy. But give it an hour or so, and the drydown is sublime. SMW and MI only lasts a few hours on me.

1. GIT - because you won't be full member of Basenotes until you own it and can throw in your two cents worth on any discussion like (choose one "What do ladies dig?", "What's the BEST scent in the whole world?", or "What scent has been totally overrated in the past?", ooooor : "What does GIT stand for? Is it a company? I can't find it in the directory!"

Myself, I got GIT, first liked it, then found it to be a bit boring, now love it. It's a good, well done scent and really a must-have.

2. Bois du Portugal - BdP is one of the very few scents "unlike any others". It just smells so damn great and you really detect it's a "rich scent" in every sense of the word. I'm 28, anything but conservative and although BdP sure smells a bit more "dignified" and salespeople sure would never recommend it to a young person, I'm in love!!!

3. Silver Mountain Water - the name itself is pure gold! SWM is definetely NOT a scent you would choose for a date, a night out on the clubs or any formal event ... it's just a good-mood, pick-me-up scent which works wonders with its predominant berry notes. Lovely!

SWM is the only one I don't own (yet), I do have samples of Tabarome and New Tabarome (okish, but not for me), and full bottles of Zeste Mandarine (smells like cleaning fluid, good for people who want to feel ... umh, productive - so, not bad!) and Original Vetiver (NICE, but it reminds me personally of childhood holidays at the lake, might not be for you if it doesn't trigger anything.)
