Tips on getting a job at  Dept. Store Frag co

OK, so I recently found Basenotes and am loving it, but before I go broke buying everything I want I thought it might be a good idea to get a job selling the stuff I love. I don't have any experience selling fragrances, but seem to be as knowledgeable (if not more so) than the ppl behind the counter and I dare say I have much more enthusiasm about the industry as well.

I found out that the Dillards (where I do most of my clothes shopping) in town has an opening and am going to call today. I just wanted to know if anyone had any advice for me, or if anyone thinks I am crazy and will be getting in above my head by doing this.

Thanks

Do you have any retail experience? If not, make a list of skills that you think would be good for the position- anything at all having to do with accounting, because you'll be handling money and stock, etc. Knowlege of and passion for what you are selling will go a long way towards getting you a leg up.

You aren't crazy at all- I've seriously thought of trying to get a job at ScentBar just for the discount. Even if it's just one day a week.
