3 Staple Scents

Hey guys,

Much appreciation on my "clean scent" thread, it has actually opened my visibility to Gendarme. To which i have two questions:

I have three scents that i switch on/off, based on the message/mood. If you had three scents to cover the following three categories what would they be:

1. All Purpose - your default or sig scent (Mine is GIT)
2. Power Play - when you want to kick in the doors and exude your confidence (Mine is Douro/Lords Penhaligons)
3. Scent the Girls love - need i say more (1903 J. Peterman, go figure! every woman who i put a lineup together of scents always loves this the best)

Not that I know of. It's still listed on the YSL website along with the intense version. Also it can be found cheap at scentiments.com

PS----I agree with SSSS on Chaleur de Animale. Glad to see there's another fan here. This is a really unusual, really sexy scent that doesn't get a lot of air time.

Thanks for moving this one up again for the newer Basenoters. I love this thread.

All Purpose: Silver Mountain Water, Guerlain Vetiver
Power Play: Route de Vetiver, Envy
Romantic: Carnal Flower, Chergui

I have yet to present this stuff to a non-aficianado who doesn't react with an "mmm, that's really nice" to SMW and Guerlain Vetiver is just classic. I can't think of anything more powerful and awe-inspiring than Route de Vetiver, though I can understand how some might find it too much. The first few times I sniffed it, I thought it was vile. Now I can't imagine living without it. My decant is about to run dry and I'm going to have to get a bottle. Envy just has a luxurious and in-control air about it.
Carnal Flower and Chergui are both beauty in a bottle to me, and that's enough to make them romantic to me.
