What to wear on rainy days?

Hi, I'm a new member here. Â*I've been coming in and out on this web site for a few months now. Â*These are all I have at the moment:

1. Gucci Envy
2. Bvlgari pour homme EXTREME
3. BLV pour homme
4. Azzaro Chrome
5. Azzaro Silver Black (ONYX)
6. XS Black
7. Incanto pour homme
8. Subtil
9. Kenneth Cole Reaction
10. Joop!
11. Dunhill X-Centric
12. 212 Men
13. CHIC
14. Davidoff Cool Water Deep (sea, scents and sun LIMITED EDITION)
15. Dolce & Gabbana pour homme
16. Nino Cerruti 1881 AMBER
17. Aramis Life
18. DKNY for men
19. Burberry BRIT
20. CK BE
21. FCUK
22. KenzoAir
23. l'eau par Kenzo
24. Versace Blue Jeans
25. Tommy (1994)
26. Hoggar (Yves Rocher)
27. Transat (Yves Rocher)
28. Eryo Blue (Yves Rocher)
29. Samba Natural Man
30. Farenheit
31. Polo Sport
32. White Musk (Body Shop)

I always have problem choosing which one to wear each day. Â*Guess I have too many. Â*The weather here is very warm so for the day wear it's easy as I always pick Azzaro Chrome, l'eau par kenzo, Transat, CK BE, and CHIC.

But on a rainy day I really cannot choose a proper one. Â*What do you think?

P.S. Gucci Envy & BVL pour homme really work for a hot date! Â*D & G is for next try! Â* Â* Â*

L'Artisan Tea for Two is perfect for rainy days.

Hey Kiat, I'm a new member as well. For some reason when it rained, I would use Chrome. Maybe because I correlate Chrome with soapy cleanliness, the rain is your shower. Too bad Macy's, etc got a hold of this scent, now it's mainstream to the core.

I wanted to say DKNY men, and coincidentally you have it in your list. I somehow always associate this fragrance with rainy days.Â* [smiley=afro.gif]

LOL! Me too!! I always think of rainy days every time I wear DKNY Men, IMO it is PERFECT for rainy days. It is somewhat musky while keeping the pleasant tangerine leaves at the top-mid notes.

It's not on your list but you should really try out L'Artisan Voleur de Roses or Ungaro III. Then there's Guerlain Mitsouko. That works too but better for just overcast days..

I love fougeres on a rainy day. Consider those that are fougeres on your list to wear.

I also want to add a positive comment on the variety of your scent styles!

Last, but not least, welcome to the forum on your first post!

I would say Lacoste pour Homme. The kinda cent that you wear when you run in to a barn when its raining and find some one in there..naked!! 8-)

I'll second the Ungaro III as well.

ducluv45 beat me to my suggestion: Fahrenheit.

On rainy days nice scents are
- Voleur de Roses
- Acier Aluminium
- L'ombre dans l'eau

I was planning on Burberry Brit today, but then it started raining. Now it is snowing. :-?

Not sure which one from your list, as I'm not familiar with most of them. But, on rainy days, I like my scent to be congruent with the mood of the weather. Most of the time when it rains I like something that makes me feel pensive, introspective, and calm, like Lutens Vetyver Oriental or something like Villoresi's Musk, or even Voleur de Roses or no. 88.

I'd imagine you could also take the other route and wear something that is uplifting and bright, to counteract the effects of the weather.

Wonder which approach most people here take to rain?

Took the words right out of my mouth... oh, it must have been while you were....nevermind.

I second that. It is my all time favorite Ishy day frag. I think that Envy comes in a close second place though...

L'Instant de Guerlain is perfect for a rainy autumn day

Le Male is my usual go to on a cold rainy day, to me it's a dark powdery scent that goes right along with the rain...Gio

Depends on what kind of rain we`re talking about:

Spring Rain : Tempore Uomo
Summer Rain : 212
Autumn Rain : Voleur de Roses
Winter Rain : Guerlain Winter Delice

Btw, warm welcome.

Nothing evokes a walk in the rain like Green Irish Tweed.

YEah I know, but usually the VdR hordes come out so fast when rainy day scents are discussed (I do agree though)

Thanks for great recommendations. Â*However, some stuffs you recommend cannot be found here, and it's not a wise way to purchase it from the web sites (from USA or UK) as there is an import tax charged at my end.

By the way, yes, I think DKNY works for rainy days as the top note is fresh like a cool breeze of the rain.

Once again it's interesting to see how people have different associations and take different approaches to choosing fragrances according to the environment. Some choose fragrances that "evoke" a rainy day; others choose fragrances that induce a mood they find appropriate to rainy days; still others try to "counteract" the weather. I suppose I'm in the last of these 3 camps: for cold, wet days I think of warm, dry fragrances. I suppose I would think of rain differently if I lived in the tropics.
From your list, for some reason I wear Burberry Brit when it's a chilly rain. Chrome sounds good for a more warmer rain. But you can NEVER go wrong w/ CK Be!!!!!!!!!

God, I wish I lived someplace where it rained in the winter! If I did, then I'd wear Tea for Two, most certainly. Hate to be so unoriginal, but there it is.

For rainy days, I suggest:
- Voleur de Roses by L'Artisan Parfumeur
- English Fern by Penhaligon's
- L'Ombre dans L'Eau by Diptyque

I find Creed Erolfa very appropriate for rainy days !

CdG Kyoto
Burberry (The red box)
Goutal Vetiver
today was a day at work and chose guerlain-insense...it worked perfectly for me today as its a rainy day here in rhode island and not hot at all...probably the first time that i felt the connection between a scent and the weather really..the frag was mellow..not overpowering and lasted all day...a solid green in a fresh-cut-buncha-flowers-but-still-masculine-kinda way...

Voleur de Roses or Ungaro III.
