Voila!

Correct me if I am wrong - have been sniffing to my hand sprayed with Terre all night and I think about Photo all the time!

Sad but true............

If this is true I'll probably like Terre D'Hermes. But at the prices, I'll continue to buy Photo.

Can't wait to check this out.

Howdy all,

sorry to be bumping this old thread. I just received my bottle of Terre D'Hermes 75ml pure parfum, and i swear that it reminds me very strongly of the original Lagerfeld (beige box, amber juice, clear bottle). I haven't smelt it for 20 years or more, but the first time I sprayed Terre D"hermes, I thought Lagerfeld original (not Photo, with all due respect to the OP).

Anyone else see the similarities ?

PS : Compliments of the season to all basnoters.

The similarities with Photo might be there partly because of the vetiver, partly because of the fougere notes, partly even because there might be a slight powderiness in both.

Just got a mini of Photo. On paper at least, I get a lot more moss and lavender in Photo than Terre. Pretty different. I think Photo is quite a bit like Byblos Uomo (1993).

Gosh, it has been years since I sniffed Photo last, but with my admittedly sketchy memory I don't remember them smelling similar.

Hey folks,

I know the OP was referring to Lagerfeld Photo, but for me Terre D'Hermes smells a lot more like the ORIGINAL Lagerfeld, not Photo.

I still wear Photo and Lagerfeld Classic.

Frankly, I Photo and TDH couldn't be much further apart to my nose. And Lagerfeld Classic is very powdery, and so doesn't remind me much of TDH either.

Renato

Of course Photo has been reformulated. The older version--which I prefer by a lot--doesn't smell anything like TdH at all. The newer formulation is much drier and woodier, but I still don't experience it as being all that similar to TdH.

Smell very different to me.

Cheers, Renato!

I hope you are well, my friend. Happy Holidays to you & yours!

I have to concur...this thread is rather ridiculous. I have Vintage Photo and know other Lagerfeld bottlings. None of them are remotely close or similar to Terre d'Hermes.

So - we are correcting you, because you are totally wrong. You asked - and you received, the honest truth.

Even if the newer formulation of Photo is, as mentioned, by L'Incadescent drier and woodier...

Cheers,

ericrico

No.
One is bitter citric and dry mineralic.
The other is aldehydically soapy.

If u try to finde similarities between this two , You will end up in blind street... No and No.

Well,

obviously my untrained nose and foggy memory both need some urgent retuning.

Thanks for your replies.

Compliments of the season to you all.

I believe he is referring to Photo for men. Which is also unlike Terre. But not as unlike as I imagine the women's to be.
