GIT/Cool Water - Bvlgari Black/Dzing   Survey

Well, we always seem to debate these two pairs. Some are adamant that Cool Water and GIT are similar and that Bvlgari Black and Dzing are similar. Others are adamant that they are not.
I am curious as to whether there is or isn't a pattern with these differing perceptions.

Are you a person who

A. Thinks each scent pair is similar, or
B. Thinks only one pair is similar and the other isn't, or
C. Thinks neither pair are similar?

I'm an A.

Well, I guess that makes you a B.
I didn't see the Curve/GIT connection until Paul G mentioned it several times. At first I didn't agree, but after numerous sniffs, some similarity did start coming through.

I am a "B"

I can see the initial similarity between GIT and CW, but I don't see the similarity between BB and Dzing. I don't even smell leather in BB.

The first time I tried Cool Water I was astonished as how similar it was to GIT. I still believe that.
Among the few differences between the two is the great longevity (at least on my skin) and that beautiful ambergris note in GIT that justifies the excess in price, IMO.

There are very superficial similarities between GIT and CW that are gone within minutes. GIT evolves quite a bit as it drys down, CW does not, its very linear. Same with Curve.

I have a smaple of Dzing! but have not smelled Black, so I can't comment.

Haven't smelled GIT, but I think Dzing! and BB smells pretty alike, expet for the "sawdust"-note in D, and the rubber-note (which nearly disappears after a couple of minutes) in BB...
BB contains no sawdust. When I think of Dzing!, I think of sawdust. On the other hand, GIT and COol Water are clearly related.

i would have to say im a c.
Cause, i have smelt all 4 and there is a intial similarity on first sniff between these 2 pairs that is odd but i get a completly diffrent drydown for each, so definatly not the same.

ditto

I can't comment on the latter, but as for GIT vs CW, well... can I see why they could be considered similar? Yes. Yet I'd still pay $100 for the GIT over a $20 bottle of CW anyday!

I haven't smelled Dzing yet so I can't comment on that. There is an initial similarity with GIT and Cool Water. I differ from others because I'm really disappointed with GIT and Cool Water is sort of ok. Expectations always get me in trouble.

Well, it appears the B's have it. I'd have thought there would have been more As and Cs, but there is no correlation evident in this sample.

Stick me in category A B C!

Yes, those pairs have similarities but there are enough differences to set them apart.

I find GIT/CW have a higher resemblance to each other than D/BB does.

D and BB have similar notes but they're different versions of the notes.

They're all different.
I'll leave it as that

Seems to me from what you say that you are more of an A. I did say "similar to", not "the same as".
There's only one "same as" pair I know of - in side by side comparisons I can't tell the difference between Pasha de Cartier and Michael Jordan Cologne.
