Okay so I've hit a 1000. Sure took a while, I've been here for a year and half, and it sure has been a journey.
My Fragrance Journey Timeline:
Pre 2002:
Wasn't too much into fragrances. I only wore them on really special occasions, and stole a few spray's from my dad's collection. Scents I wore: Gap Dream and Coty Aspen which belonged to my brother. My dad had some Jovan Musk and Obsession.
June 5 2002
Received my very own bottle of Cologne on my sixteen birthday from my dad. Pick me up a bottle of Versace Blue Jeans, 35.00 CAN after taxes. This soon sparked my fragrance hobby. I was very pleased with this fragrance and very much loved it, so I decided to look for online reviews to see what others thought. Came along www.ciao.co.uk, and read a review of Azzaro Pour Homme. In his review he mentioned a website called Basenotes. I had to check it out. I actually discovered Basenotes in 2002 but I didn't join till two years later.
November 2002
Pleased with my Blue Jeans, I decided to try the other fragrances in the Versace line. Picked up Metal Jeans blind from a mall vendor and loved it. I actually still own the exact same bottle. Still half full but still strong.
June 2003
Pleased with the Versace Line, I continued and bought a bottle of Green Jeans blind. Big mistake but good thing I only payed 20 bucks. Gave it away to my dad and he finished it off.
October 2003
Still went along with Versace, grab Jeans Couture and the then new, Versace Man. I also picked up a bottle of 212 Carolina Herrera from all the rave reviews on the broad, and on Basenotes. I actually wasn't a member then but an avid reader of posts.
March 2004
Went crazy and bought a huge 10 piece lot of fragrance for 120.00 US shipped. Included Moshino Uomo, Egoiste, D&G PH, Blue Jeans, Xeryus, Chanel No. 19, 1881 Cerrecti, Fahrenheit, Insence, and Romeo Gigli. Sad to say but I actually didn't like any of them even my beloved Blue Jeans(I soon grew tried of it). I actually only kept the D&G Pour Homme, and gave everything else away or swapped it.
May 2004
Smelt this amazing fragrance on this guy during gym class. Asked him what it was, he told me it was Micheal Kors for Men. I grab a bottle that day right after class. Curious to see what others thought about it, I posted for the first time on BN in late June of 2004. I actually got rid of this. I think his sweat and the Micheal Kors mixed smelt great on him, but it didn't work on my skin.
June 2004
Finally joined Basenotes and took advantage of the Sell/Swap forum right away. Got rid of some stuff I didn't need. Had a great time reading post and discussing fragrances.
November 2004
Got a sample of Creed SMW as an extra in a swap and ventured into the Niche world.
November 2004 to December 9, 2005
WOW! What can I say, I've come a long time since the pre-BN days. I actually found this site when I was 16, didn't actually join till I was 18. Since then I tried so many different scents. I'll have to say that the niche was the best. Testing the Creeds, MPG's, LV's, L'artisan and so much more. I hope I'll have more to come. As you can see I gotten rid of a lot of pre-BN day's scents, like all the Versace scents. I actually only have Dreamer and I want the Versus Uomo. My taste has really changed, although I still have the classic/mainstream stuff like ADG, Eternity, and Drakkar. I also love and have more refined stuff. On of my favorites being L'artisan Voleur De Roses. I was also pleased to participe in getting some of the Caron extracts: Poive and Tabac Blond. Send a shout out to Adeel and Charles. Especially Adeel for making me a poor man. Anyways I know I can talk on an on, but I'll leave it at that. Just want to say thanks to all, even the people I don't know for making this place great. Also for anyone to sent me extras in a package, thanks for getting me even more interested in this hobby. Thanks to the moderators, for doing their best to make this place great, and to everybody else, thanks a lot.
December 9th and on....
Probably when I get more money, get some more Parfum extracts: Apres L'Ondee and Jicky.
Finally try to test Geir, you guys are just making it harder with the posts.
Update my decant of VDR to a actually full size bottle. This could be my signature scent, please don't say it is.
Hopefully I try to get GIT. Still trying to get "it". Maybe getting a full size bottle might help. ;D
Maybe start getting in more into the Women's Perfume. I thought about it for a while, maybe it will be something I'll get into.
Venture more into the Fragrance World.......................
Thanks again and wish me a 1000 more.
