Habit Rouge changed?

Hi all

I seem to recall reading about this somewhere, but I can't track it down, so forgive me if this is a retread.

Today I bought, and have just cracked open, a new bottle of my old standby Habit Rouge; spraying it, I'm rather startled to note that, while it's clearly recognisable as HR, the topnotes (and, indeed, the middle) has a somewhat harsh, slightly medicinal quality that I really don't remember from before!

I know LVMH has reformulated some of the Guerlains to reduce the allergen content, but I don't think I've read that HR was one of them.

Has anyone else had this same experience? Has the magic of HR been blunted?

OK...I have had this happen to me but with another scent. Hopefully, in your case, it's just that it's a new bottle. Give the bottle a shake and try again tomorrow. Sometimes the escential oils break down in the nozzle where they have come into contact with air so give it another shot later. I am amazed that more people haven't commented on this phenomenon. I was convinced I had a bad bottle of cologne (actually, I had read that China was forging designer scents and using cat pee and goat pee!, I kid you not). Anyway, my cologne is wonderful after that first wearing...no cat pee here.

Check out my post on this thread: http://www.basenotes.net/community/Y...num=1133089677

It's related to the variation of scents between bottles of the same fragrance (in this case, Acqua di Gio by Armani)

I agree that this may be the problem.

I found no difference in Habit Rouge from years ago.

I thought the HR bottle had been or was going to be re-designed. Is this true and is there also an edp?
