bay rum

Thread Starter
I've recently discovered bay rum fragrances and absolutely love them - so extremely dry, can't think of a more masculine fragrance.
Have tried 2 so far: Trumpers and St. Johns.
St. Johns, made on the Caribbean Â*island where bay rum grows, is meant to be the original thing. I find it very elegant, but perhaps too uncomplicated, single fragrance; also, it has little lasting power; perhaps it should be used as a massage oil.
Trumpers is my favorite, complex, rich yet dry, a real pleasure to use. There are, however, some people who tell me I smell like roast beef (the clove component, I guess).
Now for the question: does anybody know, and recommend, other bay rum fragrances ? Or even fragrances with a bit of bay rum ? Thanks-

Aramis Havana is an obvious one.

Royall Bay Rhum is pretty good, but also lacking in duration.

Where bay rum grows??? Where can I get a bay rum plant?

The two I like are Michelson's and Burt's Bees, but none of them seems to last very well.

Creed has one within their private collection - Bay Rhum Vetiver.

I just bought this last week - very nice and masculine! Â*Starts off with a very strong Bay rhum and dries down to a dark vetiver. Â*

Bret's Bees also has one along with soap and after shave - I believe it's discontinued. Â*If you can find it - I highly recommend their soap. Â*The aftershave blam is ok but contains alcohol.

I agree. I actually get more bay rum than tobacco from it. BTW I'm referring to the original Havana, not Reserva.
